Highly recommend as worked diligently on our 1969 Dodge Charger. Runs alot cooler in this Antelope Valley High Desert 100 degree heat! The electric fan Dan installed with the on/off switch is the "magical remedy" that keeps the "General Lee Dodge Charger's Engine Cool!" Took it out to Santa Clarita through Bouquet Canyon on Saturday 10 days ago or so, with major 108 degree heat in the Antelope Valley. Amazingly the temperature gage of the engine stayed in the Cool range during the 4 hour outing. In the past the enginr heated up and gave us trouble in this extreme heat. My brakes skipped the squealing part and went straight to the grinding part. Unfortunately, I was driving home on a Sunday and that meant 1) i couldn't stop anywhere to get my brakes fixed and 2) because I have to get home, my rotors may be ruined by the time I can get it into a shop. I called around and I was able to get my car in to be fixed on Tuesday. They called me early afternoon to let me know my car was fixed and I did not need new rotors. They were quick, helpful, and great customer service. I'll definitely be coming back here, as it is always hard to find an honest, reputable mechanic. read more

Chevy volt won't charge, but no codes on the freebie OBD2 scanner at AutoZone. So, called these guys to see if they have the scanner that can see things the OBD2 can't (dealer charges $200 for the scan, which money can be put to repair cost after the scan). Dan talked with me for a minute about the scans they can do. He then recommended that I talk to another service shop which has more experience with vehicle electric systems. He also offered to do the scan with his equipment for no charge. He was easy to talk with. No hard sell. Kindly pointed me to someone who might be more qualified to help. My car was up for it's 100,000 mile checkup and my mechanic of over 30 years retired. AVAC was recommended by a close friend as honest. I had to make a 2,000 mile round trip in a few days and needed the checkup done first. Spending a lot of time at a mechanic shop growing up, I can do some basic maintenance myself and know when things need to be replaced/fixed. I knew what needed to be changed during this service and what did not. So I put this shop to an honesty test: beyond the normal service, I asked them to check the timing belt and rear axel fluid (both of which I knew ahead of time were in good condition). A dishonest shop would have charged me to replace both as well as tried to get me to replace the water pump as well as several other belts. They quoted me the day earlier at $450 for all. After dropping off the car they said it would take about 4 hours. (A bit longer than expected for changing 4 spark plugs, a tranny flush, a coolant flush and checking the belts and rear axel.) It took 5 hours, they charged me $390 after taxes and said the belts and axel oil were are in great condition. I was surprised and WILL go back again for their honesty. read more
