This is a update to my original review to Quality Automotive which is now Car Lax Quality Automotive. I've been a customer of Quality Automotive for over 28 years now. I have never taken any of my cars to any other mechanic as the former Owner Dan came highly recommended. The former owner Dan his son Chris to all that knew chris knew he was a great guy and will be sorely missed. Jim and Todd who have been with Dan for as long as I can remember. A little over a month ago Dan sold Quality Automotive to Bruce who owns Car Lax automotive on 30th Street East in Palmdale. After buying Quality Automatic moved his business to the site of Quality Automotive and is now called Car Lax Quality Automotive. The sale wasn't a total shock to me after Chris's passing. God bless Dan and his whole family. However I took my car for an oil change and that's when I found out Dan had sold it and Bruce bought it. I wasn't sure what I was in store for or if I would stay a customer. After taking my car there I determined very quickly that I would remain a loyal customer. They were very busy when I arrived, yet they got started on my car right away. After being there only a few minutes the new Owner Bruce came in and introduced himself to me and we had a nice conversation. The fact that Jim and Todd are staying was also great news. After that day I read the Yelp reviews on Car Lax and like Quality they rated 5 stars. The fact that Bruce came in and introduced himself told me that he is a stand up guy. He was honest with me and stated he is going to keep the prices basically the same as Quality. They aren't the highest or the lowest, but they are very reasonable. I'll continue to be a customer of their's in the future and feel lucky that Dan sold his place to a honest guy. Bruce also brought his mechanic from his other shop so they can handle more work. I highly recommend Car Lax Quality Automotive as I truly believe they will offer the same great work and customer service. Chris and his team are outstanding. Long story short. Check engine light came on and had it towed to dealer like an idiot. They said I need an $8000.00 new engine. Brought it to Chris on monday. Clearly an honest shop, no attempt to BS or upsell. Our car was draining the battery, and they took the time to diagnose our car correctly rather than throwing parts at it. Once they determined the problem, they replaced only the necessary part (alternator) and the car has been running fine for 6 months. They also took the time to listen to my questions about what might be coming down the road in near-term repairs and gave good honest advice on what could wait. I called them to get an estimate for my 99 honda for the ac unit cause the compressor went out and they gave me this BS story that they don't make ac compressor for my car anymore and I would not be able to find one unless they rebuilt it or get it from another honda. Come on that story doesn't work on me maybe on someone that doesn't know about cars, but anyways I was able to buy one online and get it installed by a professional. I don't trust this guys if there going to be lying about things about like ac compressor who knows what stories they told to customers out there to screw them over. This is a great place...they worked on my front and rear brakes the same day with no appointment, did the necessary work with no up-charges and were pleasant to deal with. I have had the best experiences with Quality Automotive. Knowing you can trust the information you are receiving and that the work will be done right always gives me piece of mind. The customer service has always been top notch and friendly. Now for the reason for this review 18 months ago I had some repairs done to the front end including a new gear box. The steering was loose again so I took it in to be repaired and I was told the gear box went out again. The Gear box had a one year warranty from the manufacture. Chris felt that the I should not have failed and replaced it with no labor charges. This is the kind of customer service and honest dealing that have made me come back every time I need work on one of my vehicles. read more

Clean shop (so important), friendly guys, good service and your not driving onto a dirt driveway or parking in a shopping center. Self contained location. Prices are what you'd expect to pay for quality and excellent service. My car is running great!! So, it has not been quite a year but my husband and I have had a few visits here.....We are very, very happy to have chose this as our new mechanic. Just sitting in their waiting room and listening to the many customers come in being treated with the utmost respectful way was very pleasing. It is difficult to find a good mechanic and this is THE BEST Antelope valley can offer!! I have used this automotive service for several years without complaint. They have always been fair with their prices and have delivered on time. Even after I had moved out of state I returned to have some expensive work done on my vehicle that would have cost me twice what I was charged, at a dealership. That has to say a lot about these guys. The kicker was when I asked if I could get a copy of the receipt after 5 years in order to get partially reimbursed by the manufacturer. We have sent hundreds of trucks over the years and not once has Quality Automotive inflated the jobs. They fix whats broken and advise on possible future issues they see. Quality is their name, quality is what you get. Last night my car broke down and I was able to limp it to Quality Automotive. Unfortunately they were closed. I left my car parked in front of the shop with the key hidden. In the morning I called and spoke to Chris, and explained what the symptoms of what was wrong with my car. Chris agreed to work on my car immediately, even though I did not have an appointment. I live two hours from Palmdale where the shop is located, but I know their reputation. The problem with my car was diagnosed within an hour. The ignition coil had gone bad, along with a spark plug coil, which was discovered after the ignition coil was replaced and was not included with the original estimate. We'll not only was my car repaired within a couple of hours, but Chris did not charge me for the spark plug coil. My car runs perfect now. I have had worked done here before along with numerous friends and family. I can not say enough about all the employees at Quality Automotive. They know their stuff, they are polite and answer all your questions. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I would not hesitate to take any of my vehicles to Quality Automotive or recommend them to anyone. read more
