She was not in pain, but her condition changed minute to minute--sometimes worse, sometimes better--depending on progression and medication response. Deciding when to let her go was incredibly difficult. What I knew without hesitation was that, due to her severe stress at the vet, I did not want her final moments to be anywhere but home. Unfortunately, securing an at‑home appointment isn't always easy, and my biggest fear was that her condition would suddenly decline and I wouldn't be able to get someone to my house in time--forcing her last moments to be spent frightened at a clinic. Dr. Conner completely removed that fear and stress. She worked around our needs, scheduled appointments with incredible flexibility, and canceled or adjusted them without guilt or pressure. Her number one concern was always my little girl's comfort and dignity. That flexibility gave me the greatest gift anyone could offer in this situation--the ability to make the right decision at the right time, without the added stress of trying to force such a deeply personal moment into an external calendar beyond my control. I scheduled a hospice consult for my sweet 13 year old lab and received a quick response with a call from Jennifer. Even though I never met Jennifer, I felt like she was holding my hand during the whole process. When it was time for our hospice consult, Dr. Chandler came to our house and assessed our boy along with going over quality of life. She even gave him a treatment before she left to see if it would help his mobility. After the consult, I received a very thorough email from Dr. Chandler giving me a breakdown of my dog's prognosis along with some treatment options. She reached out to other mobile vets on my behalf and provided helpful links for every option of care that she gave me. Jennifer also followed up to check on Oakley to see how he was doing. When it was time to make the decision for me to let him go, I texted Dr. Chandler (after hours on her day off). She still responded. She came out a couple days later to our home and we were able to give him a peaceful goodbye on our lawn, which was his favorite place. Dr. Chandler treated Oakley with such care and dignity from start to finish. Jennifer also called me again to check on my wellbeing a week after we said goodbye. Dr. Chandler reached out to me on a Saturday to let me know she had Oakley. He was ready to return home. She worked with us on getting him back and even went as far as matching the tissue paper to the color of his fur for the packaging. She also included a beautiful dog card along with his name which was handwritten. It lays against the paw print and clipping of his hair she gave us. I hope I provided enough details as to why Love Always is not only the best, but the only option I would ever use when having someone take care of my beloved companions.

She made it so amazing. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Kelly was actually available to come earlier than expected ( as we unfortunately needed her to ). She was calm, sweet, patient and soothing. She was so loving with our helping our 19 year old kitty Jet go to her final sleeping place. Every question answered, everything already thought of. She gave us the option to leave her with us, take her/cremate and return, or cremate and have her hang with other amazing pets. We received follow up texts and emails and then finally got this card where the majority of my tears finally came. Luckily I had posted our initial experience, a pal saw and was able to help another pal, Puck, help take his final nap Thank you SO Kelly and Love Always. Highly recommend. At Caring Pet, I said goodbye to Spencer in their Farewell Room. It was very nice, serene and so hard to leave after seeing my kitty so peaceful. For my previous cat, at a different crematory, I selected "individual" cremation. It wasn't until months later, while doing research for Spencer, that I saw (on the other crematory's website), a "private" cremation. I thought "individual" meant just that - it did not. I highly recommend Caring Pet Crematory and will use them again for other pets.

I live in the country , so my German Shephard and I walk the property as well as some of our…read moreneighbors orchards everyday. So he is almost always off leash given our location. One morning he ran off and I found him scavenging a carcass and before I could get to him, sure enough he got bone stuck in his throat. Fortunately it was not effecting his breathing, but he could not swallow and was clearly in great distress. I got him back home, called my Vet. They had no DR on staff until the afternoon. I then called every other Vet in my area, and they could either not see me because of being over capacity for appointments, or there was no Vet on Staff at the time. I loaded Max in the Truck, called ahead and told them we were coming. It was a long drive, 40 minutes with a dog in distress. When we arrived they got us in right away. Even though Max is a big , strong, and difficult dog, the veterinarian and staff were able to get the bone out of his throat with no sedation, no major procedure. They did not do anything extra, did not require an ultra sound of an X-Ray, and after all was said and done, it probably only cost me a little more than my regular Vet would have charged, and that was for an Emergency appointment. I know people will complain about the cost of VCA, but this is a 24 hour emergency service, and I for one am glad the community at least has this option given that extreme Vet shortage, and IMO anyone that takes on the responsibility of caring for an animal should be ready for things like this to come up. When I called, I spoke to Jeannie (forgive me if I misspelled) who has the utmost pleasant phone etiquette and compassion. It was going to take 50 minutes to get to Chico, but Jeannie was able to get us an appointment by the time we arrived, which was immediately. As we arrived, our pet was napping and comfortable. We were checked in by Alina, who understood what was going on from the detailed notes left by Jeannie, and offered to come out to the car when our appointment time was ready (only about 15 minutes) to keep our pet comfortable. Once inside, our pet was breathing rapidly. Another Veterinarian (I presume, I didn't catch her name) stopped in their tracks as they were passing by and asked if we were there for emergency services due to the heavy panting, and had a look of concern. I appreciate she stopped to ask, fortunately at that time we were not. When it came time to our appointment, Jewel took our pet's vitals and showed great compassion. Dr.Sierra made her recommendation ever so gently, to which my mother and I understood and agreed. When it was time to say "see you later" to my mother's best friend, we were able to be in the room and share her last moments. Pets are not just 4-legged friends, they are family and the only family to some. The care, compassion, kindness, concern and professionalism were by far the best we have ever received. I have been to a different VCA location 15 years ago and cannot say the same as the VCA Valley Oak location. I really did love this vet for a long time, but back in may I brought my dog vegas in for he was…read morehaving issues with his rear end. I had mentioned to them that he had gotten out of our fence and I was worried he may have gotten a fox tail in there. They knocked him out and checked and reported back, no foxtail. Put him on antibiotics and sent us on our way. I returned 3 more times for the same issue. The dr proceeded to tell me that he had an anal gland rupture and I wasn't taking care of his rear end enough and I needed to be washing him more frequently to keep the area clean. At this point my dog had been in a cone for several month and on 3 rounds of antibiotics. I went in for a second opinion in September to another vet, within the first 5 min they checked his rear and pulled out the foxtail that had been hurting my dog for four long months. I spent over $1000 at antelope vet for them to make me feel like I wasn't doing enough for my dog when really they didn't do their job in checking a second time for this foxtail. I won't be returning, though their office staff was great I did feel like the Dr made me feel like I was a bad pet owner.
