In March of 2023 I was referred to Dr. Trylovich by my former dentist, who has recently retired…read more He said he noticed something wrong with the last three teeth on the lower right after taking an x-ray. Dr. Trylovich looked at the x-ray and determined the teeth could not be saved, but he could replace them with implants. Total tab: about $15000. Dr. Trylovich was able to place two implants but said I did not have enough bone for the third implant, so he did a bone graft, and then I waited a few months. When Dr. Trylovich was satisfied with the bone graft, we went ahead with the procedure on September 19, 2023. From the very beginning, this one felt different. I had almost constant pain, and the pain extended to my right ear, despite being on antibiotics and Tylenol or Ibuprofen, round the clock. Dr. Trylovich then prescribed a different antibiotic. I contacted my regular doctor, and he agreed that the new antibiotic was more effective than the first one I had been given. But still, the pain persisted and on September 30, Dr. Trylovich told me to meet him at his Henderson office, and he would remove the implant. I was ecstatic on the drive home, because I thought my problem was over. But a dull ache persisted. I went to see one of his young proteges while Dr. Trylovich was vacationing. He looked in my mouth and said everything looked "fine." That was it. When Dr. Trylovich got back from his 2-week vacation in Mexico, I called and requested an appointment. This time he took an x-ray and the look on his face said it all. He asked if I had ever taken Fosamax. I was stunned, as he would have known the answer had he reviewed my records from the dentist who treated me from 2000 to 2020. I turned all of those records over to Dr. Trylovich after my dentist retired in late 2020. I assumed he had reviewed them and made copies before they were returned to me. Or he could have simply asked me that question outright before scheduling the implants, but he never did. My records showed I had taken Fosamax for more than 4 years. Dr. Trylovich diagnosed me with osteonecrosis of the jaw. I have since learned that anyone who has taken Fosamax for that duration or longer is at risk for this condition. The confusion and disarray demonstrated by Dr. Trylovich and/or some of his staff is obvious. The word "Fosamax" should have jumped off the page! The local dentist Dr. Trylovich referred me to for treatment of the osteonecrosis kept me stable for over a year. It was only at my last appointment a few weeks ago that he discovered that the bone loss has resumed. He believes one implant can still have a crown placed on it, but the other should be left alone, as the bone loss at the base will likely continue, causing problems in the future. Dr. Trylovich did refund the fee for the one implant that was removed. But I am still out of pocket over $5,000 for the useless third implant that remains. Guess he needed another 2-week vacation to Mexico, and he decided I could pay for it. And in case you think I am a rare case, and it can't happen again...I have news for you. I am actually his second patient to be diagnosed with this rare condition after being treated by him.

With each visit, the overall bedside manner felt less personal and more rushed. There seemed to be little concern about explaining treatment plans or helping elevate concerns I had. What ultimately concerned me most was the treatment planning. After seeking several second opinions, I was told by other dentists that some of the recommended treatment recommendations, including crowns, were aggressive and unnecessary. That raised serious red flags for me. I also began to feel uncomfortable with the front office staff. There was noticeable pressure to agree to additional services, and when I asked questions or declined treatment, the response sometimes felt dismissive. Because of these experiences, I decided it was best to switch providers. I hope they can refocus on consistency, patient communication, and more conservative treatment recommendations in the future.

I was taken back after sitting just a couple of minutes by Angel the awesome tech. I love the technology of this office. They do digital X-rays and photos. Super easy no pain no stress, and super quick. I saw Dr Kaplan today. She is so nice and I got a great report today. My hygienist was Chelsea. I hadn't had an appointment with her in like a year. I guess I was scheduled with a different hygienist. She is so great! She is very detailed and personable. We caught up on what we have both been up to this last year, during my treatment. I just love the personalized care. I do have new info that they are using a new and improved fluoride treatment. It is water soluble. And it only has to stay on for 15 minutes to be effective. That means you only have to wait 15 minutes before you eat or drink anything. They have two flavors right now mint or watermelon. The watermelon flavor is light and sweet. I like it. They gave me sunglasses to wear during the exam so the bright light they use to see doesn't blind me. Lol. I was able to book my next 3 appointments while sitting in the comfy chair. I received a tooth brushing kit, perfect for travel or work. Check out was super quick. This office is professional, friendly and efficient. Team work in action. The hours are also important to me. They are able to get me in, late afternoon after school hours. So perfect! This office is right between my school and my house so it's perfect for me. There is always plenty of parking. There are spots right outside the door or right across. I like to pop over to Trader Joe's and dollar tree when I'm over here. I highly recommend. Check them out.

I can no longer recommend Ascend Dental Studio in Henderson. They seem to have let go of the best…read morepeople who made the place worthwhile. The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result. I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice. A great experience from check-in to check-out…read more Every one of the office staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. A pleasurable experience. The "operating" room technician, CiCi, is amazing. All business at first (not a criticism) but she warmed up after a while. Great sense of humor! She didn't waste a motion. Part mechanic, part machinist, part artist, she did it all! Except for the bit reserved for the doctor. And, as for the Doc, very professional and caring. He understood and accommodated my hearing loss by speaking loudly and clearly. Dr. Ju personally administered the anesthesia injections. He was careful, patient, and, importantly, precise. Sometimes the injection pain comes from forcing in the medication too fast. He did not. And, he seemed to know exactly where the targeted nerve is. My numbness was only where it needed to be, no more. So, because the anesthesia was so precise, the drilling was painless. And, there was a lot of drilling! I really got my money's worth of doctor-time. Dr. Ju and his assistant were focused and concerned about my experience. I appreciated that!
