We're really glad we got to connect! If you are hesitant to include a therapist in your circle of people assisting you to raise your child, take a breath and get past it. You'll understand the value after the first visit!

I haven't been to Raise but Jess has treated someone I love. I have encountered many therapist and…read morethere are many out there who are clinically sufficient. What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

Long version: I was originally apprehensive because I couldn't find any reviews for Dana, and when I saw she worked 16 years as a midwife I worried she would be like some of my previous psychiatrists/doctors who made me feel uncomfortable about not wanting children or about being gay. But I really needed an appointment ASAP and she was the soonest available so I went out on a limb and I am sooo glad I did. Dana was absolutely wonderful. I have very bad anxiety and find it difficult to talk to people and I'm easily put off, but Dana was incredibly easy to talk to, kind, understanding, and she made me feel comfortable right away. I never felt judged, dismissed, or pressured. I felt listened to and respected, which made a huge difference. You can really tell she cares! I highly recommend paperflower to anyone. Their billing and admin team are great too. They responded very quickly to any inquiries I had.

I want to start out by saying my experience with Dr. Horowitz was not in line with other reviews…read more I actually was mandated by my employer to see Dr. Horowitz for a second opinion of the medical care I was receiving from my primary providers. Dr. Horowitz was very professional and asked a lot of probing questions and listened intentently to me. Although he was not my treating physician he suggested many new options for me to proceed with management of my serious health issue. I realize now that much of the work he had to do was tedious insurance paperwork, which my prior physicians had a difficult time completing. I found him to be extremely professional and efficient. He did not present to me as a soft shoulder to cry on. He presented as a highly educated psychiatrist with the latest information on diagnosis of mental illness, the available pharmaceuticals and adept at managing the insurance paperwork. my review is tardy but Ive finally gotten it together enough to write it.

Instead of showing any understanding, he refused because I'm "functioning." As a mother, I have no choice but to function--that doesn't mean I'm okay. The entire experience made me feel unheard and belittled. If you're looking for a doctor who will truly listen and support you, this was not my experience here. I wouldn't recommend him, especially for women going through real-life challenges who need compassion and understanding. Since then, I've found another provider who truly listens and treats me with respect. The difference has been night and day, and it just confirmed that the care I received here was not okay.

She prescribed me an atypical antidepressant that was once banned and is still banned in other countries. I was desperate so I tried it. This led to me experiencing excruciating stomach pain and feelings of anger/rage which is not who I am. I stopped it but I couldn't reach her to tell her about the symptoms, so Chandler let her know since she was too busy. It's been about 3 weeks and I still haven't heard from her to check up. She also only gave me 7 of my other meds that I take twice a day every day...? Chandler got back to me and said those bad meds sometimes take a month to kick in. There was no way in hell I could've felt that bad for a month just to see if it'd work. So for Chandler I'd give him a 9, and so far for Holden I'd give her a 4.
