The entire staff is so nice, it really is an awesome environment and I look forward to it now! They even have a new addition - Ralph, a mini golden doodle who is being trained to be a therapy dog to help patients to calm them and lay on their laps during cleanings and procedures! Until Better Smile Dentistry. They were able to work on cavities and fillings and making molds of my teeth for 90 minutes, and I had zero panic attacks during that time. They offered breaks, they let me listen to music on my headphones, they used traditional tools instead of the water pick (about 75% of those panic attacks was about the water pick), and let me know what they were doing and what it might feel like every step of the way. I cannot recommend this office enough, especially for folks who are neurodivergent and/or afraid of or anxious about dentists.

I called Suburban Family Dental and told them about my situation. I had been waiting weeks for a filling and then suddenly my old dentist cancelled my appointment. This office was able to accomodate my situation and get me in as a new patient within just a few days. I was able to get the filling I had been waiting for and it was totally painless. Since I have used them for my regular cleanings I have had no cavities. The hygienists have always been gentle. The woman who is the receptionist is way more than a receptionist. She is great about getting you an appointment when you need one, she has done a fitting for me for a mouth guard and she helped me pick an insurance plan out that would be friendly with their office. Dr. Ortolano is quick with his exams but very thorough. I have recommended this place to others also and have only heard great reviews.

The waiting area is comfortable and pleasant, a rustic lodge feel to it. I'm on the fence about the dentist -I've been for a number of reasons already, everything from a cleaning to a mouthful of cavities to be filled, to getting a night guard fitted. She is lacking bedside manners and compassion to say the least. Her jokes seem sarcastic and she rarely puts effort into conversing. I ended up being reduced to tears when I was having an extreme anxiety issue at one of my first appointments. After having a large number of cavities filled on both sides of my mouth, three months later and I still have extreme tooth sensitivity and pain when I floss them. The dentist claims they will feel better after 6 months and even took an X-ray to verify that nothing was wrong with the teeth. If you're wondering why I went back to this place, it's partly because everything *except* the dentist is perfect but also because I know that I am not the easiest patient. My recommendation is that if you can afford the exorbitant cost at East Amherst Dental down the street , go there! But if your insurance is Delta Dental and you tend to have a lot of dental issues and phobias, look for a place that measures up to VIP Dental's staff but has a nicer dentist (and let me know!)

My face was swollen with the pain in my jaw and gland. A month earlier my last Dentist told me to go to the emergency since the infection was spreading and l had 2 hours to live. Not ! Had a cat scan to show that it wasn't like the Dentist and Oral Surgeon said. Never wentr back to them. Thought she would be kinder. Wrong ! I was forced to use a very old bottle of antibiotic l had at home. I called the office on Monday and told the receptionist what happened and was told that the doctor has a new program and can't order what l needed. Baloney... I told her to tell the doctor l said she's a terrible person to do that to me and that she should retire.
