My appointment was confirmed for between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. At 8:30 AM, they called asking if they could come immediately. I explained that my family was still getting ready for the day and that we only have one bathroom, so I asked them to honor the original appointment window. Then, at noon, I received another call saying the technician was on the way. They didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. Two technicians came in, looked at the drain issue, and quoted nearly $800 plus tax. Because this is the only bathroom in my home and I needed the problem fixed, I really didn't have much choice. I approved the work. Here's the part that bothered me: the entire job took less than 15 minutes. To be clear, the drain is working and the technicians were professional. I have no complaints about the quality of the repair. My issue is paying nearly $800 for what amounted to a very quick service call. When the technicians walked out the door less than 15 minutes after they arrived, it was hard not to feel like I had just paid an emergency premium price for a routine fix. To make matters worse, I continued receiving automated calls from Roto-Rooter trying to schedule the appointment that had already been completed and paid for. That gave the impression that the scheduling and customer service systems are not well coordinated. If you need immediate service and money is no object, Roto-Rooter will likely get the job done. If you have time to shop around, I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes first. Looking back, I suspect many local plumbers could have performed the same repair for significantly less.

Replace the first floor baseboard with high output baseboard. Peter measured the job up and returned with Christian another day to complete the work. I admit I was impressed with the concern that was paid to how each peice was installed. A level and tape measure was used on each peice of baseboard to insure that when completed the entire run was the same height and on the same plain. Each cover was trimmed if needed so it fit together properly. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves and even helped me put my things back, which they didn't have to do. I could say I'm happy with the work they did and leave it there. The truth is I'm really impressed with the work did, it came out more beautiful than I hoped. They showed more attention to detail than they had to, and the price was very competitive. Its been 7 years and Pete is still doing really prideful work. Just a few days ago, I contacted FREEPORT PLUMBING AND HEATING, located at 29 Bedell St, Freeport, NY 11520, with telephone number 516-442-8008, to setup an appointment for a leak in the shower, it was not an emergency so I was ok to wait 4 days to have a technician to come to my house, they said, it will be a $100 service charge for the technician to come to your house, if you decide to have the problem fix that day, the $100 will go towards the repair, pretty standard, we all know companies do this all the time to make the customer use their services. Here is the issue: charging almost $500 for changing a water mixer that cost $35 at Home Depot, and that took the technician only 45 min. from the moment he came in to the time he left, (and this is including his trip to go get the piece) to do the work it's extremely a ridiculous amount. When they told me the price I was expecting that the technician will reduce it by the $100 mentioned by lady on the phone but no he didn't. Next available business day I called this place to make sure they understand my discontent with the whole situation, the their answer was "oh no, that's a completely separate charge, that's independent from whatever the technician charges. At this point I can only say, shame on you, but eventually reality will catch up with businesses like this and I can guarantee you that a simple fine will not get you out of all the misleading and dishonest business you are running.
