Our decision was made based on Gale who provided me with great customer service by answering my questions and concerns with such professionalism and patience. She had someone at our house within the hour to assess the situation at hand. That, someone, was Kenny. He assessed the situation and advised us that someone will contact us with a price. I honestly thought the leaks we had from our bathroom through the kitchen ceiling (already made holes in our ceiling) were going to cost us both our arms and legs. Gale called us back with a very reasonable and fair price for the work to be done. Which was to find the leaks, repair them and replace both our toilet and vanity. We agreed on the set price and scheduled for work to start the next day. Kenny showed up bright and early and on time with a mask on. He wore it at all times. He did all the purchases of materials needed, breakdown, repairs, and installations. What I was most worried about was the mess that I would have to deal with afterward. There was nothing much for us to do but to sweep a second time, wipe down, and mop because he cleaned up after himself, took out all the garbage, and took everything with him. That's including the old toilet and vanity plus the boxes the new ones came in. We were so impressed by that because the other companies told us we would be responsible for all of that. After the work was done, he advised us to call in immediately if we saw or heard any leaks. The only call I had to make was a "Thank you" one. I don't know about anyone else but from beginning to the end it was an amazing experience and a job very well done! We highly recommend their services to all and anyone we know! I'm…read moreglad this company has gotten some reviews on Yelp recently as I was looking at their services in October of last year and there were no Yelp reviews at that point. My experience with them was a little mixed, as I will explain below. First off, the woman who answered the phone and did the initial coordination was nice and professional. I can't remember her name unfortunately, but that was appreciated. Seems like this company is willing to send someone to do a free quote for a job, which is good and how it should be IMO. I found that some other companies still charge for this though. She set me up for an appointment in the near future. The day of the appointment for a quote arrived. The person who was coming was not on time. I called them and they said that the guy was running about 20 minutes late. I waited 20 minutes, no guy. I waited for a while longer after that but he was very late at this point so I called them and left a message that I was leaving at this point as he was late and I wasn't going to wait any longer to eat dinner. As I was walking out, I saw this disheveled looking kid walking around my apartment complex. Turns out he was the guy who they sent. I told him that I didn't want to get the estimate anymore because he was very late. He looked angry, wasn't apologetic at all, and gave me a bit of an attitude. I'd rather not put the name of this kid in my review for the purposes of being merciful. Needless to say, I pretty much crossed All in One off my list after this incident. They did follow up with me afterwards to offer an apology and offered to send someone else. I hadn't decided on a company yet so I thought I'd give them another chance. The next person who came was plumber named Christina. Christina was very friendly, professional, and communicated excellently the whole time I dealt with her. She arrived right on time and did the estimate. The estimate she gave me was, by far, the best price I was offered after checking with like 3-4 other companies. She also let me know that I could buy my own shower kit for her to install (instead of the company themselves providing everything and there possibly being more room for upcharges as a result). I was able to text with her for feedback and she was very responsive. So I decided to pull the trigger on having her do the job. I live in a co-op apartment complex and there were a few more hoops to jump through than if I was having work done in my own private house. My co-op requires a licensed and insured plumber to do work on my apartment. All in One is licensed and insured FYI. I would have preferred to hire someone who was more underground in order to save money, but I couldn't in this situation unfortunately. Christina arrived on the day of the job and did the work. She let me know that the job was done and that my shower was no longer leaking. However, when I got back, my shower was still leaking. I was understandably upset that my problem wasn't solved, but I was able to talk to Christina and she let me know that another component (the shower cartridge) was to blame. I was a bit skeptical as my super had already changed the cartridge a few times, but I was appreciative that she was willing to come back that weekend to do the cartridge fix. Thankfully, after she came back to do that, my shower no longer was leaking, and hasn't been leaking since. So overall, my problem ended up being solved for a much lower price than what most other companies in the area were charging. But it came with some hiccups. Getting plumbing work done is a very, very stressful and expensive project. There were companies that were charging more than double the price of what All in One offered. But I had a good experience with Christina and would definitely recommend working with her specifically. Hope my long review was helpful. So, of course, I went to the web, Craigslist in particular, wading through a lot of ads and promo-posts that looked suspect at best and downright deceitful at worst. I was beginning to get worried when something about Richard's post caught my eye. I can't even tell you what it was to this day; it wasn't flashy or bombastic - maybe that's what it was, who knows. But something made me call him - and so far he has turned out to be the best tradesman I have had going into that building on a regular basis. He investigates the problem, gets in touch with me to review the details, we settle on a cost - always reasonable - and a course of action, and he gets the job done, letting me know the final bill. Work's done, tenants are happy and all is right with the world. He is a man of his word. And did I mention that I have yet to meet him face to face? That's right - we've been working together now for almost a year, and he and I have been nothing more than voices on the phone to each other with a little bit of cellphone technology mixed in. Sure, I have a guy in the building who works as a go-between for the residents and for followups. But Richard and I have been operating on a virtual handshake for almost a year now, and more than once he has shown himself to be not only a very good plumber, but a man with integrity and a compassionate heart. I've used Richard a couple of times, and he's usually very nice, thorough, and reasonably priced…read more But, in January I had a job that really should have been very easy and he just didn't want to do it. He comes to my apt, looks at the flushometer toilet and says "your super should be able to do this." The problem is, my super sucks. I know this, which is why I am calling a pro. The piston in the flushometer completely gives way a week later, water is just running full blast into the bowl, and I had no choice but to call the super. He puts a new shutoff valve on the toilet, for some reason, and replaces the piston. I pay him $260. Problem is, he effed it up. The action on the flusher was weirdly stiff, and a few weeks later it just stops working. I call the super and he couldn't give less of a sh*t. "I told you, you probably need a new handle" he says. "Get the part for me and I'll look at it." (He had not communicated that to me, and it turns out he was wrong anyway.) So, I end up calling one of those overpriced "retail" plumbers. He shows up, and observes that the super put an unnecessary second gasket in there, which seems to have messed it all up. About 15 minutes later the job is done, and I'm out another $300. So I ended up dealing with three different people and spending $560 for an easy job that required a $40 part. Richard is a great guy for jobs that he wants. But he really left me in the lurch here when I needed someone to just do the job right.
