I have a 1st gen Apple Time Capsule (TC) that succumbed to the overheating issues that most other owners experienced, blowing capacitors in the power supply. I read about some repair techniques and modifications online. I removed the power supply unit from the TC and brought it to Anthony around 5:45pm. Before closing up for the night he explained the problem, opened the device, found a substitute capacitor to replace the two blown ones and completed the repair. I went home, reassembled the device and voila, it working again. Anthony quickly and confidently addressed the problem and charged a reasonable rate for his time and parts. Now, I just need to make some modifications to keep the unit cooler going forward. There are some great suggestions for doing so online. If I'm unable to complete one of them on my own, I'll be back in to see Anthony. read more

I was all set to go to Anthony's based on reviews here, and their convenient location. I knew what the problem was with my television, so I knew the part(s) would be cheap, and just wanted to know how much labor would be. Unfortunately, the repairman/salesman who answered the phone wouldn't tell me. (!) I knew that labor costs might fluctuate, and they couldn't give me a real estimate until they saw the set, but the guy wouldn't even tell me their per hour rate, instead insisting "We don't do the price-shopping thing." For labor costs? Really? Not even a ballpark - nothing. That kind of shadiness sent me back to the dealer. Apparently Anthony's only wants the business of uninformed, desperate consumers. Dude is awesome. I took my record player in at like 2 pm. The needle wasn't making contact with the vinyl. He fixed it the same day and was done within hours. Very knowledgable guy. He had me test out the record player in store so I could see it was working. Though I will say he can be very blunt and come off a bit harsh. Anthony's is a complete disappointment. What kind of guy keeps your vintage radio/record player for nearly a year and a half, ( I dropped it off February 2019, had to recover it July 2020) continually saying that he's working on it, assuring you he can get the job done, drops hints that the cost may be more than expected, gives progress reports, he's got the radio working, will need to re-wire everything. He did replace the brittle electrical cord with a green one that was lying around his shop, even though he asked me if the color mattered and I said yes, I want it to be black, left a message saying it won't be fixed for Thanksgiving or Christmas but I'll have it home for sure for New Years Eve. Mid February 2020, I left a message wondering what's happened with my vintage radio/record player. Well now Anthony is so swamped, but he's gonna get to it, so I'm more than welcome to leave it there, thing is he's gotta get some other jobs out of the way and doesn't know how long it will be when he can get back to it , but he's gonna get to it (how about finishing a job once you start it). Anyhow, I finally realized Anthony was never going to fix my vintage radio/record player, he really didn't want to. He shared his opinion of how he didn't care for the old thing on more than a couple of occasions ( I stopped by unannounced 3 times ), which is probably why when I went to pick it up, he had several other items placed on top of mine and yes it was in the same spot I left it back in February 2019. I asked Anthony how much did I owe him because of the "work he had done", surprisingly he said nothing and warned me not to plug it in any outlet because it might cause a fire. So, being the polite gentleman that I am, I thanked him while thinking "Why the hell am I thanking him" and in return he said "I'll call you when things slow down so if you want to bring it back" which is exactly what I gave Anthony.....my back. read more

during what might be considered the worst night of my life, i sat for over five hours in my dark, lifeless condo waiting for the power to come back on. finally, nearly six hours in, lights and appliances sprang to life. i rushed to turn on the t.v. - thrilled i might be able to catch the night's repeat of the new real housewives (which inevitably airs at least twice on the same night) before bed - only to be greeted by an unchanging blue screen. my beautiful tv had not survived. over the following week, i tried several do-it-yourself solutions with no luck. but, in an attempt to avoid one additional expense, then-fiance-now-husband and i decided to wait until after our wedding to have it repaired. after two months of watching a borrowed 19", we finally decided to take our tv to anthony's electronic services. we called to confirm he worked on toshiba models. yup - so off we went, tv in tow. dropped it off and were told it would be approximately two days for a diagnosis and then up to two weeks for repair. the following day, anthony called us back - the tv was working for him. he couldn't get it to *not* work. great! that was yesterday. husband went to get the tv today. while there, anthony demonstrated that the tv worked and wasn't going to charge us anything. hubs tossed him some bills as a tip/thank you and brought the tv home. but, alas, when all was set up at home, we were greeted with the same, unchanging blue screen. we called anthony and he talked us through several potential solutions to help us diagnose the problem - which happened to be a rogue dvd cord and not the tv at all. story's moral: anthony is accommodating and incredibly helpful. he'll be my first choice for electronic service/repairs going forward. read more

My niece's birthday was a few weeks ago and I had decided to do something special for her. I purchased a chocolate fountain just for her and myself too. It was a success and all was going well until it happened. 1 of the guests decided to add a nestle crunch bar even after we had said not to. This gummed up the twisty thing that moved the chocolate from the bottom to the top. I was fuming and ready to hurt someone. I calmed myself down and set to cleaning up the damage that was just done. I tried it again but it did not work. I thought I was a goner and after mentioning it to a girlfriend , she told me about Anthony's repair shop. She recently had an Xbox fixed after her sons broke it. She said he fixed it and was very reasonable. I took the fountain in and asked him what he could. He took it and said to give him a day or too. It was a free estimate since I brought it into the shop. I left and hoped for the best. I received a call the next day saying the fountain was fixed and ready to be picked up. I went thinking it would cost me an arm and a leg. He told me it was just a loose switch and it would be $10.00 for labor. This was very reasonable considering I would not be able to return it to the store for credit or exchange. I thanked him and told him that he was one in a million. Be aware, if you take something there it might come out worse then it was. I took a turntable there to get the RCA cables to be replaced and he charged me over 60 bucks to replace it. Took it home and the tone arm was not working well. Finally got around to getting it fixed. I took it to another electronics repair store and they said it was the cheapest cable they could have used to replace it with. Stay away. read more

My Soyo LCD TV broke and Anthony gave me a diagnosis within 24 hours of my dropping it off at his location. Ultimately I decided to scrap the TV and buy a new one, but his customer service was excellent. Anthony indicated that finding replacement parts for my Soyo was next to impossible, and my own research confirmed it. It's great to work with a business where the owner (and the guy doing the work) answers the phone. Anthony didn't charge me for the diagnosis - so hopefully he made a few bucks in scrapping the TV, and I'm very happy with my new one. read more

Do not take you xbox 360 to get fixed here!! I brought my Xbox here to get fixed and it cost $80 which is really expensive considering Microsoft repairs them for $100. They will not give you a guarantee, which should have been my first clue. But the worst part is that it broke literally one week later with the same error it had before I brought it in. I mean come on!!! I wasted $80 I wish I had just sucked it up and bought a new system. And I agree with Julie K, they would not give me any kind of estimate they just told me that they had to take a look at it. I called around at other repair shops and they had no problem giving me an estimate and it was around $50. But they were so far away so I figured Anthonys would be comparible in price, boy was I wrong. So by the time I heard back from them they already had my Xbox for almost a week, and I just gave in. But do not go here they will charge you insane repair costs and your system will break immediately. You might as well save up for a new system. read more

My two year old daughter decided it was a good idea to slip a business card into her father's Playstation. Note to self: if you are not a trained expert, in ANY trade for that matter, then an 8 minute instructional on You Tube certainly is not going to make you one. Anthony is awesome and completely FAIR!! I brought my TV into the shop - a 42inch 7 year old plasma which recently died (as expected). He called me with a hard quote that afternoon - free estimate as promised. I told him to go ahead and fix the TV with that quote. He had to order parts for the TV repair - and once they arrived, he was skeptical that this was going to fix the issue and he did not feel that he could guarantee the work since he was finding bigger issues with the old TV. He called me to tell me the news and offered to send back the parts he ordered and would return my broken TV free of charge. I appreciated his honesty and really appreciated the fact that he did not spend more money than the quote he gave me. He apologized that he was unable to fix the TV and stated that the amount of money needed to fix the TV was getting close to the price of an entirely new TV. Also, while I was in there, I saw old Nintendos, boom boxes, computers from 1980, etc - he is an EXPERT and will try to fix ANYTHING. LOVE HIM!! Brought in an old Zenith Radio and was told they could fix it. Every time I brought it home it didn't work. Tubes probably needed replacement-which I was told they could handle. Owner seems like a nice guy and maybe this time was in over his head. They "took me" for $300.00 and I never went back. My 6 year old 27-inch Sony TV decided to go on the fritz. I contacted Anthony's and he suggested I bring in the set for a free estimate. I had nothing to lose so why not. Anthony was great, the street in front of his store was under construction so he had me wait in the alley while he got the TV out of my car and carried it to his shop ~ great service. A few days later Anthony called and said the repairs would be $xxx which I felt was very reasonable. He then said the set should be ready in a few days. When I called back after a few days, Anthony said he was concerned that it might need another part which he would have to order, but not to worry since he would still do all the repairs based on the original estimate. Very honorable. After a few days, Anthony said he had completed the repairs but if I could wait a few days to pick up the set, he wanted to run the set in his shop to make sure there weren't any other problems. I said that sounded like a good idea. I called Anthony a few days later and he said everything went well and I could pick up the set any time, however, there was still street construction. The next day I went to pick up the set and as he said there was no change in price for the repairs, in fact Anthony accepted the website coupon I had printed out, so the repairs were even less. Anthony carried the set out to my car as I sat in the no parking construction zone and placed it in the back seat. Anthony was terrific, accomodating, very reasonable and exceeded my expectations in all regards. I highly recommend Anthony's shop for any TV or other electronic repairs you may have. read more

My husband has an 7 year old Sony, 40 inch tube tv that he loves. It must must weigh 200 pounds. Lately it has not been loving him back. It started only turning on intermittently and then no more. I called Anthony's Electronic Service phone number and thought I had not gotten through but within 2 minutes I had a call back and was able to have my number passed to a service person to call and schedule an appointment. The next afternoon Ted, the repair person, called to let me know he might be fifteen minutes late and then appeared as promised. He let me know that this tv was definitely worth fixing and should last for a long time if repaired. Ted was considerate about keeping the area clean, let me peak inside this giant tv and showed me what would need to happen. He took the time to clean what needed to be cleaned and fix what needed to be fixed. Ted also took a look at a second tv, made an estimate to repair and suggested it would best go towards a replacement. I gladly let him take it away for salvaging as I would have taken it to the city recycle. I appreciated someone actually bothering to let me know he would be a little late, coming prepared, having the knowledge needed and an obvious pride in his work. Not common these days. I highly recommend Anthony's Electronic Service and want Ted to know he's the best. My husband adds a thumbs up as he sits and catches up on his viewing. read more

I initially called with a stereo receiver problem. After speaking with someone I was told to check the wires that came from the receiver and speakers. I checked it out and within minutes I no longer had a receiver problem thank you so much it would have cost big bucks for repair. Went to Anthony's to fix my 42" Vizio since Vizio would charge a $85 processing fee to show up to my place for repair. Anthony stated during his quote that the problem was the motherboard. After looking for parts, he said that he would not be willing to repair it with used parts and my only option was to get the new parts through Vizio. Having this knowledge that it was definitely the motherboard, and not a broken screen, I caved in and had Vizio come to my place for the repair. Vizio will not charge a fee for if they cannot repair the TV, UNLESS THE PROBLEM IS THE SCREEN. Well, turns out the problem (per Vizio) is the screen. So now I am out $85 AND I still have a broken TV. In all fairness, we may never know if it is Anthony or Vizio that was incorrect in their analysis. Would be nice if 2 electricians could have come up with a consensus though. read more

Our 4 yr old Zenith Plasma was having trouble turning on-had to click the on button like 60 times & then wait...weird. Hubby wanted to spend 2 grand on a new TV but I thought we'd give a repair shop a try first. Found Anthony's here on yelp & he gave them a call. He liked their down-to-earth manner. Brought it in on Saturday & it was ready on Tuesday. They repaired the main power supply assembly & cleaned the fan drive for $180. Can't beat that.
