I was giving a pair of Samson Resolv 65a studio monitors and a Samson Resolv 120a subwoofer as a gift for my birthday two years ago, I wasn't too sure how to connect everything to my Vestax mixer. At first I was running the two monitors with xlr cables to my xlr channel 1, and the sub to an rca channel 2. It seemed to work fine, but the sub was never as crisp as it should have been. Eventually I read the manual and found out that I should be running rca cables from the monitors to the sub and not the mixer and that the sub should have rca's running to my Vestax mixer. When I tried this setup I would not get sound from the left input channel on the sub for the monitor. I figured it needed to get repaired, so, I went in search of a repair place. I called several places in Chicago and emailed others. All basically told me that I needed to bring it in before they would even think of telling me what the problem was. Anthony on the other hand replied to my email with a couple of follow-up questions asking, which I replied to with answers as best I could. Anthony gave me a couple of different causes and suggested that I bring it in. Finally, I had gotten some sense of what may be wrong instead of just a curt "just bring it in". I took the sub to Anthony. He suggested that it would take about two days before he could let me know what he found out. Two days later I recieved a call. Nothing was wrong. We were both confused. Anthony suggested that I may possibly be connecting the cables incorrectly, he showed me how he had connected them and I connect them the same way. He also said that it could be another piece of equipment that caused the problem. He did not charge for this. I took the sub home, connected everything the way I had done in the past, and the way Anthony had done it, and it worked. Anthony is a very honest repairman and is timely as well. DONT EVEN BOTHER!!!!!!! Anthony is the owner who sub-contracts his work out to a guy named Ted who can barely speak english and who doesnt have a clue about working on newer TV's. I called them to repair my 46" LCD TV that went blank on me while watching it. Ted came to my house to check the TV out, said he would need to take it to the shop to do more diagnostics on it. My wife was the only one home at the time and Ted said he had no way to get the TV down to his mini van and asked my wife if she could help him carry it down!! WTF?? We should have sent this guy on his way after that, but we didnt. So, it takes Ted 3-4 days to look over the TV and he calls us to tell us that one of the moduels is bad and that he would need to order the part and the total cost to fix it with parts and labor will be $540. We agreed to get it fixed and Ted told us it would be ready in a week. After 3 weeks of ordering wrong parts and broken promises about when the TV was going to get fixed I decided to have them return my TV and I was going to have someone else look at it. At this point, my TV was still waiting for a part to come in and wouldnt be ready for another week! So I took the TV to the retail store where I purchased it (ABT electronics), they called me 2 days later, told me what was wrong (something completely different than what Anthony's told me) and said it would be ready in 4 days. I had heard that Anthony's Electronics did work on guitar amplifiers, so I called them up to ask about fixing up a tube guitar amplifier that I had been meaning to get serviced. Not knowing the scope of the work, I called and spoke with Anthony on the phone, and he mentioned he would check it out for free before determining the cost of any parts and labor involved. Fair Enough....at least I knew I wouldn't be "surprised" when I showed up if he quoted a price higher than just "guessing" over the phone. I brought the amp in and Anthony checked everything that I had asked him about for free, as he said on the phone. He was also able to modify my amplifier for a more "modern" rock guitar tone that I had specifically wanted....we ended up talking about guitars and amps for quite awhile. When it was all done he was kind enough to fit me into his busy schedule and allow me to demo it on the spot for an hour or so in his shop before I took it home. I was very happy with the sound of my amp...way better than before...and was actually surprised at the depth of Anthony's knowledge of guitar amplifiers...considering his place is just advertised as an "electronics repair" shop. I wouldn't hesitate taking any other piece of equipment there for repair, and I'm sure I will in the future, as electronic equipment has the tendency to eventually fail at some point... read more

So i'm all set to watch some TV and BLAM! It starts popping and making funny noises.So I unplug it and try to reset the thing but nothings happening.Now of course i had bought the biggest TV i could find 65 inch Mitsubishi, impossible to carry around type.So a friend of mines told me about Anthony's and said just give him a call i'm sure he works on big screens. Well i called him up and he said they would have to come out and have a look first to see how bad it might be.They charge a small fee for the house (which i was happy to pay because i could not bring it in) and he said will go from there. Cool! The driver called me up and set the time which was around my schedule (I'm home all the time anyways LAID OFF).Showed up and proceeded to take out the boards that must have burned.He told me they would have to order from the factory and it will take about few days for it to come in.Sure enough a few days later i was called that the parts are in and we're ready to install.The man came back out put everything together and FIXED MY BABY!!! Recently my Peavey guitar amplifier just quit on me. No smoke, no pop, nothing. So after grieving over my loss, I figured I would try to have it repaired instead of buying a new one. I skimmed through the Yelp listings for amplifier repair in Chicago and after going through the list I found Anthony's to be closer to me than any other. I called him and described the problem and told me that he could take a look free of charge and that he'd let me know everything before he started doing anything. I don't know WHY he is listed so low on the search page! This guy fixes EVERYTHING, including my amp :-). After telling me what was wrong he gave me an estimate for parts and labor and after I gave him the go ahead he told me he would call me when it was ready. 3 days later I was reunited with my amp and I was able to test it out that night. My mom's 8 year old 37" Olevia LCD suddenly lost its sound. She did her own Google research and concluded it wasn't worth fixing. I found stellar reviews for Anthony's and decided to give it a shot. I called him and explained the issue. He thought it might be a lost cause if it required a new power supply. So I searched the web and found a new one on eBay. We planned for me to drop off the set, have him evaluate the problem and if needed order the new power supply to ship straight to his shop. All for less than $140. Not bad for a LCD in a size they don't make anymore. Once he had the set he got right to it, despite telling me it would be a day before he could look at it. Turns out no new power supply was needed. He changed out some worn out parts and it was done. All for $80 and in a day and It works great! As advertised. Fast, fair and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. read more

Ahh.. Where to begin, I've been using there services for years.Recently my sons PS3 went out along with his TV.Of course I called Anthony .He said like he always has just bring in what ever you need me to look at.(He checks it out for free ..Really). I took in what might have been a dreadful disaster (PS3 & TV) that went out during all the storms we've been having.He checked things out for me within a few days found out that it wasn't that bad and he was able to save both units. The TV took a little longer than the PS3 because a part was on a back order, but when it arrived as promised he called with the good news that both of my units are ready for pick up. I took a popular vintage amplifier to be repaired - an eBay purchase in mint condition - after a quick phone chat, I took it in for an estimate. I got my estimate within a few days, as promised, and it was repaired and cleaned and back to me a little over a week for exactly what he quoted. I appreciate their honest estimate and quality work and I feel like they were looking out for me. Before we authorized repair, he wanted to check to see if I paid too much for the amplifier as it appeared someone tried to fix the unit in the past. This will be my second review for Anthony's Electronics. Since we already had done business together and my stereo he had fixed for me is still working real good, why not go back with something else.I have an old Pioneer tape deck with the piano key buttons on it that match my receiver he had just fixed.I brought it to him and like always he called me within a couple days with the estimate.To my surprise, he was still able to obtain most of the original parts and put it back to working order. I gave him the go ahead to get my baby working again.I got it home and hooked to the receiver he had fixed earlier for me and damn!!!My tapes came back to life.I like it better than cd. Yup! Yup! Antz You da man bro! I'm chillin at the crib playing God of War and all of a sudden the power goes out!So for next few hours i gotz nutting to do.When the power come on i tries turning on mines LED Samsung nutting happen.My PS3 and My Sony Stereo all outs.So here i go with Google on my cell phone looking for shop and Anthony's keep popping up.So i calls him up and he say just bring it all in i'll check it out for free first.That's cool! My Stereo went out during a friendly get together a few months back and I finally got around to taking it in after a friend had suggested me to Anthony's..After reading reviews on here of him My Boyfriend and I decided it's time to do something with this broken stereo. Anthony's took care of my Stereo and TV that were damaged in the storm back in the summer.Just got on here now to write about my experience...I've never been to any service that actual runs the way they say it does or care for the customer the way they do. I Just want to commend Anthony for his service on my Laser-active player that I had brought to him in pretty bad shape. He fixed it like new and was very reasonable in what he charged me for the repair. Anthony provided outstanding service to me. No one remotely near me would even look at it and would not work on any electronic device over 5 years old. Anthony blows all other Electronic shops out of the water. Anthony's was terrific. Friendly customer service compared to other electronics repair places, and reasonable prices. Anthony (I assume it was him, at least) repaired my stereo for $20 and in a matter of hours, when I had been quoted upwards of $100 and days elsewhere. He was not condescending about my stereo (unlike others), and was primarily concerned with fixing the problem. Basically, it was the best service for which I could ask. I took my computer in based on my friends recommendation. I was told that he worked wonders with their TV and guitar amplifier so he thought maybe he could give it a shot. My computer would turn on but no video would appear and I HAD to get it fixed. I took it in and Anthony said that it wouldn't be a problem at all. Anthony brought my dad's forty-year-old turntable from nonfunctional to fully operational in a couple of days and for a reasonable price for all the parts that needed replacing. And a few weeks later when something was amiss with the turntable - preamp - receiver - speakers set up, he had me bring it all in and was able to diagnosis the problem I couldn't see. Went in to have some soldering done as I had recently lost access to my workspace. It was nothing too extravagant, but the work was done very well and very cheaply. The next day I noticed that I wanted a small change, went back, and Anthony's did the additional change without an additional charge. It is really refreshing to not be nickle and dimed these days.
