First visit, but not the last. The service was pretty good. Our waiter was new, but other servers would stop by if they saw we were in the need of something. You get warm garlic twist bread. The bread is okay, but a little bland. It has a tiny garlic taste. I ordered the chicken cacciatore. It was wonderful. I would recommend it if you like veggies. I ate half and still have a huge amount as leftovers. I ordered the tiramisu. One word to describe it- Delicious! Only a couple things we weren't impressed with. 1. Way to bright in there. This a excellent restaurant. I like it better than Franks. We moved to Fort Smith a few months ago and live about a mile from Anthony's. I go to the restaurant for a set down meal sometimes and I am treated very well by staff. The service it top notch. The food is so good and served beautifully..always served with warm bread and dipping oil which is excellent and tasty. When we don't want to go out we just order for pickup. There is never a long wait for pickup which is nice. Now we don't have a long way to drive we usually order pizza once a month. The pizza is fabulous and I would never order from another place. I am always happy with the food and the service and once I met Anthony himself when my order wasn't right and I had to go back to get it corrected. Anthony's is a Beautiful little privately owned restaurant. The food here is refreshingly flavorful. The portions are large and satisfying. Small town restaurant nice for family and friends beer and wine are also available. In my opinion this is one of the best Italian restaurant hands down Price is very reasonable considering the person to get in the flavor of the food. Loved the food as usual, but the service was awful. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were relatively busy and it was a Friday night, but our waitress seemed to just dismiss my friend and me because we were the youngest group in there. She never came and checked on us to see if we needed anything or if the food was good. At one point we had to flag her down because my friend needed another fork since our waitress accidentally took hers when she took her salad bowl. My husband and I stumbled on this place purely by accident because of another place being closed. I had the Pasta Trio (Manicotti, beef lasagna, and fettuccine Alfredo) the first two were delicious! The fettuccine was, according to my husband, good. I was too stuffed to even start that one! My husband had the Greek salad. "It isn't fancy, but it has plenty of fresh ingredients and good portion size, and very good". We're from Tx, but if we get this way again, we will DEFINITELY be back! Too many times I've got sick or been disappointed, they started off really good but I'm afraid to eat there

We both had chicken alfredo stuff and you could tell that they made a large batch and split it between us. My boyfriend had twice as much food and I had a ton of sauce but not nearly as much to actually eat. Also, the chicken was overcooked to the point of being jerky and my noodles were actually burned in some places, reinforcing the idea that my boyfriend got the "top half" and they scraped the bottom to give me mine. The sauce was very bland, as well. Don't recommend; won't be going back. When I reheated my leftovers, there was so much oil in it that I had to pour it off. Excellent Excellent. Service was very good. Food was very very tasty. Portions are beyond what you would expect and the prices are very very reasonable. The house salad with house made dressing was superb!!! When we arrived we were seated promptly and our server brought us a basket of delicious fresh rolls with oil and seasoning that started off our meal in great fashion. Ordered a glass of house Cabernet and it was a very generous pour for $4.50. Draft beer served in a frosted mug. Our server, Hayden, was excellent! We were in hog Heaven. In town for work and ate here with the team. The vibe felt very homey and a little hole in the wall, so I was hopeful for some home style Italian food. Our server was new (he told us it was only his 2nd day) and it was obvious he still had a lot to learn. He did a good job, but I felt bad for him. We were a party of 7 and they sat us in a separate area so he had no other servers around to help him and it looked like he was also the one pouring the alcohol for himself. He was forgetful and didn't know the answers to a lot of our questions. Wasn't his fault thought because it was only his second day. The food was mediocre. Portions were large though for the entrees. I ordered the fried cheese ravioli and it was more like a fried shell with a dot of cheese inside. My entree was the baked ziti and it was just drowned in marinara sauce. The place sits down beside a Rider rental truck place & walking distance of Littlefield Truckstop/Oil Company., near the 540 highway. They have quite a bit of business considering where they are located. We have avoided Italian places for years. Most are not even close to authentic. This restaurant deserves the name of Italian and the cook does a wonderful job. The bread is fresh, salads are huge, we took three quarters of ours home. The entrees are enough for two & you are full to stuffed on just half of the entree. The sauces are flavorful & the pasta is dressed just right. They give you herbed dipping oil with your bread. Very good. Waitresses pleasant, patient & perfectly willing to suggest their favorites. Restrooms are spotless, the dining area is clean & they appear to pay attention to detail, when they serve you. Should we near here again, we will definitely stop back in. The landscaping outside gives a testament to someone going the extra mile to make it a show place. They have a few tables outside on a small roofed porch. Very pleasant. read more

Wowzer! We really enjoyed our food. The meal started with fresh delicious bread and an oil based dip with fresh herbs. My husband had the Chicken Arrabbiata and I had the Viva Italia. His came with a bowl of Spaghetti as well. Both were fresh, flavorful and were very large portions. I know mine will be two more meals. I wish we had this place back home as we would be regulars. My wife and I had just gotten off work and we were looking for a good Italian restaurant and we have heard good things about this one and so we tried it out. I must tell you I gave this a good recommendation because of the friendly and very helpful server. The food selection was excellent. The beer was ice cold and the food was absolutely fantastic. There was enough left over to take some home with us. The selection of desserts was extensive and I was very pleased with our whole experience. Anthony's Italian - Italian Near Me - Fort Smith, Arkansas

Anthony's has quickly become one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the Fort Smith-area. This is probably more Americanized Italian food than say what you would find at Bravo Italian (an excellent place) - more family-style Italian food. So, I'm willing to give them a bit of a pass in terms of authenticity or quality as a result than some other reviewers. There are several good appetizers to choose from. We typically get the fried mushrooms, though the bruschetta and stuffed ravioli are quite good. We have tried several of the pasta dishes on the menu and have generally been pleased with all, with the exception of the Chicken Alfredo. I like the alla penne sauce (mixture of marinara and alfredo), though I have found that their alfredo sauce with dishes other than Chicken Alfredo can be quite good. The arabiata sauce has quite the nice kick to it. I did have a calzone a while back. I enjoyed it over all, but probably would not get Italian sausage in it next time. We have not yet tried the pizza, but our friends who have all rave about it. One of my favorite things about Anthony's is the lemon mascarpone cake. It's my favorite dessert here in Fort Smith. They don't make it in-house, but it's still quite delicious. The menu does have a lot of similarities to Joe's Italian (another great place), but I feel like you have a different food experience between the two, like they may not be using quite the same recipes. There are similarities with the bread, but they are not the same - Anthony's bread isn't quite as buttery or oily and doesn't have as much parmesan over it. Also, the olive oil they serve also has balsamic vinegar in it, which Joe's doesn't have. We have been several times and hopefully they'll the first of more restaurants to move into this part of town. The decor and atmosphere is clean, upscale, but still has a warm and casual feel to it. Service was definitely an issue when they first opened, but I feel like they have worked most of the kinks out by now. Parking here is a huge issue, though so it might be better to go outside of peaks dining hours or slow days, like Sunday nights. read more

We loved this place till today, we brought my niece and her daughter from out of town and from the second we walked into the place we had a bad experience. They seated us, a young male, then proceeded to ignore us and wait on the next 5 people that walked in the door. There was 1 other taller heavier set waitress who was supposed to wait on us that literally went out of her way to ignore us. We've probably been to this place 20 times or more and have NEVER been treated this way! Sadly we won't be coming back, it was embarrassing and unnecessary to be treated this way. The restaurant itself is really nice, the décor and overall vibe is great. The server we had did a really good job of making sure we were taken care of. That is where the positive review ends... The reason for the 1 star rating is the food...it was the worst Italian I'd ever eaten in my entire life. We started off with the fried mozzarella appetizer and they were burnt. My entrée was the chicken alfredo. The sauce had no flavor whatsoever. It tasted like straight up flour and milk. The chicken was rubbery and gray. My husband had the pepperoni calzone and it was also burnt, however, the main issue with it was the grease. It was so bad it was completely inedible. Pepperoni is normally greasy anywhere you go but this was like "would you like a calzone with that grease?" kind of greasy. Good food & excellent service. Are here the night before a half marathon - carbing up for the race. They serve great bread with some balsamic vinegar and oil for a unique start. I had the chicken scaloppini and my wife had the Anthony Special. Either portions would've been enough for both of us. Very flavorful dishes and well prepared. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu and the lemoncello cake. The lemoncello cake was refreshing and light; the tiramisu was a bold flavor and well prepared. Lots on the menu that sounded tasty, so making the choice was tough. Plenty of reason to go back and try something different. If you're in or near Fort Smith and in the mood for Italian, give this place a try. You will not be sorry. read more

This was my 1st and last experience with Anthony's Italian Restaurant. Waitress was nice but seemed lacadazic, she forgot to put our order in we waited 45 mins for our meals. Wife's food was burned once and had to be remade. I'm allergic to mushrooms and made it very clear upon recieving food after 45 mins my meal had mushrooms covering it and had to be changed. Due to them not being able to provide a substitute for mushrooms in chicken marsala. After an hour I recieved my 2nd choice of meals chicken primavera which was absurdly drowning in sauce. read more

I've been to a couple Italian restaurants since moving around, I travel a lot and always try new things. A couple places in Connecticut, New Orleans, Dallas and I can honestly say Anthony's is nothing special. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. Which comes with your typical marinara sauce (with spices), cheese, chicken and Italian bread. When my dish finally arrived the presentation was great and I couldn't wait to try it! Then I took a couple bites and noticed the bread was horribly stale, the sauce bland and the chicken was rubbery. I let it sit for a while and had some red wine to wash it down with, which was delicious btw, but having a drink didn't help. I couldn't make finish the Chicken Parmigiana, the idea of the sub definitely sounds delicious, however I would not suggest eating there. I will say the restaurants look was very appealing and the staff was very professional looking. Hence the reason they don't deserve 1 star. The employees make it a 2! :) read more

I do not like this place at all. My husband and I were craving some sort of pasta so we decided to try this out based on reviews. No. My husband usually eats his food then mine. He threw his away and mine. I literally thought I was eating oil. We spent over $60 on food and it literally went to the trash. It was a couple months ago, but I don't even want to see if it's changed. We didn't call and complain, because we don't want to seem like we want free stuff, but it was a horrible experience. I'm not sure how the restaurant inside is, since we did take out, but just from food quality it was very bad. I ordered a chicken Alfredo and my husband ordered a chicken parm and they were both awful and loaded with oil. It literally looked like someone DUMPED oil all inside of the take home boxes. The bread & vinaiger and oil was the only saving grace other than that it was way under par. First who can mess up sweet tea well this is the first place it tasted old and not sweet at all. Second I had the chicken parmesan and the sauce was bland a bottle of prego would tast better than what I had, also the chicken tasted old and frozen NO SEASONING ON IT AT ALL. Third the spaghetti was over cooked and mushy when I asked the waiter if was frozen and had a funny tast he said it was fine and that nothing was wrong with it that it was "fresh made" .
