This lovely, bustling Italian restaurant is located in a Victorian Mansion in the Fort Smith downtown. Reservations are a must for the weekend. The wine and drink selections were excellent along with the selection of classic entrees cooked to perfection from classic meatballs and spaghetti to the Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna. The Spinoni, Tiramisu, and cannoli were delicious. Our server was fantastic and attentive despite having a large party to attend to. I really enjoyed my dinner at Talianos. We were celebrating a new job. A few things you need to know about Talianos. First, it is located in a building that looks to be a former large house. As a result, there are multiple rooms where you could be dining. This gives you the feeling of a unique dining experience, far from a chain restaurant. I found myself walking around just to admire the different rooms and artwork/design throughout. Next, there are two buildings right next to each other. One is Talianos the restaurant, the other is Talianos the bar. We went to the bar, not realizing there was a restaurant next door. We found ourselves wondering where the rest of our party was and where were all the other people who would be dining. The food is very good as well. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you select on the menu. Last, Fort Smith is a military town. Talianos has a military discount for the military member's meal, not the total ticket. Since I think this is locally owned and their pricing is reasonable to start with, this limited military discount is A-OK with me. read more

Restaurant is very unassuming older home converted into a home style restaurant serving Italian food. Was reluctant to give it a try do to the fact we are in the south. Well you certainly don't put Italian and the South together and expect a half way decent meal. I can only attest to what I ordered which was the herbed linguine and a side of Italian sausage. The linguine was al dente Herbed olive oil + parmesan was flavorful Chicken was moist and seasoned well Italian sausage was very lean with a perfect blend of spices Overall I recommend giving this place a try. Our first visit since moving to far Eastern Oklahoma, Talianos Italian is an exceptional find, well executed classic Italian pastas (clearly freshly made), flavorable sauces and tender meats coupled with delicious appetizers made this a memorable meal for 4. The house-made blue cheese salad dressing is thick and savory, complimenting the crisp fresh greens of the dinner salad. Cannelloni filled with delicately seasoned ground veal in a deeply flavorful marinara sauce was excellent as was the ravoli. We highly recommend d the Italian sampler dinner to hit all the standards but be forewarned you need a strong appetite to finish the large plate! Service is attentive but never pushy. Our meal was leisurely, balancing plenty of time for conversation between appetizer, salad and entree courses. Don't be in a rush, but savory the flavors and enjoy the setting in a charmingly restored 1880 Victorian home. The chicken San Remo was served with an overpowering sauce with cream, wine and sun dried tomatoes. The wine was overdone but the tarragon and cream helped mute the wine -but - this was the only negative in an otherwise great dining experience. Oh, and THE BREAD: I've never had better Italian dinner bread anywhere! For a romantic dinner for two, a group or a business dinner in a quiet setting you cannot do better than Talianos. read more

Tonight we visited Taliano's Bar which is right across the parking lot from Taliano's restaurant. My first impression walking into the bar was "wow." There are not many other places like this in Fort Smith. Classy, cozy and unique to the area. The service was great, the drinks were on point (we had The Godfather and the Godmother), and the food was excellent. Most of the food are small dishes. Not quite appetizers but not quite meals. We had the meatballs on polenta cakes and the chicken skewers. Both delicious! I can see myself visiting here at least once a week. Regarding pricing: For 2 plates and 3 drinks the bill was $50. read more

Absolutely loved the building. I love Italian food, but this left my husband and I both disappointed and leaving just as hungry as we came. I had the Canneloni, he had the chicken alfredo...neither of which were worth what we paid for the dish. The cannelloni contained some sort of meat with the texture of potted meat, the flavor was similar as well with what I assume was Kraft grated parmesan instead of fresh grated cheeses. The chicken alfredo was very blan, the sauce had as much flavor is the noodle itself. For being our first visit, the disappointment was enough that we will not return. read more

This place is a 2 at best. Waitress seemed annoyed to serve us. The food is not good at all. If your looking for authentic Italian food this is not the place. So disappointed in the whole experience, but we live in Kansas City Missouri and thank goodness we will be back soon to enjoy a pleasurable experience and great Italian food there!!!! Can't wait!! We eat out a lot and I very seldom even leave a review!!!! The Antipasto cheese and meat plate was just cheap turkey, ham, and salami slices that you get from Walmart or Target. The restaurant was definitely unique. It was a Victorian era home transformed into a restaurant which was pretty cool. However, the food was not worth the price. I get chicken parmigiana at every Italian restaurant I go to. This was the worst I have ever had. The chicken was burnt the cheese on top of the chicken was like a slice of pre packaged cheese. My husband had the chicken parm and i had the combination plate of chicken ravioli and fettuccini. Taliano's won me over this week. I had eaten a catered meal from here before and it was just ok. Not bad at all, but nothing just wowed me. This week I actually went into the restaurant and was very pleased. The house is very cool, confusing to get around as I had never been there, but very different which I liked! Started with a salad with the homemade ranch and yummm. I ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli and I will definitely be returning to have that again! I cleaned my plate and left no room for dessert. I noticed that they had a brunch in the past, so if that is still going on I'll be checking that out as well. We made a reservation so we were seated immediately. Our server was kind, efficient and super knowledgeable about the menu, the building (restored mansion from the 1800's) and shared her favorite menu items. The wife chose the San Marcos Filet and I had the home made Italian sausage. For sides we had Italian creamed spinach and Tuscan mixed veggies along with sautéed mushrooms. This was the perfect meal in a quiet romantic setting with my favorite person. I highly recommend this restaurant but, get a good dish of food, as it sounds like the Chicken Marsala is more suited for Olive Garden types. We live in Dallas. I travel a lot for work and I eat at a lot of places. Most are fairly good meals until I came here. OMG THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. My girlfriend had the cannelloni and I had the vegetarian spinach and cheese ravioli. The sauces were the best I've ever tasted and the pasta the freshest I've ever eaten. The only drawback now is deciding when the best time will be to come up from Dallas area for a day trip so I can eat here again. Interior: Classic, but a little dated decor. Upscale 40 years ago, but hokey for today. Converted house means the layout is a little more cozy. Food: Veal piccata was good if a little oily. Carbonara was very good but also a little gritty. Cassada dessert was a big let down. Pound cake layered with ricotta and dried fruit, covered in chocolate frosting. It tasted like it sat uncovered in the fridge for too long. While I am not holding my breath for the dessert, I will return to try other entrees. Service: The service is what garners this place the 4 stars. The owner was gracious and friendly even though I got carry out. I could not choose between the veal piccata and the carbonara so he had the chef replace the side of pasta with carbonara. So disappointed in Talianos. My husband, mother, and I ate here last night for my mom's birthday. For starters we ordered the bruschetta with toasted focaccia. The appetizer was delicious, but it was downhill from there. The hubs ordered veal parm which was too cool to eat. He asked for it to be heated and then it was rubbery. He ended up not eating it. Mom's lasagna was also cold, but she ate it any way. My seafood linguini was piping hot, but the veggies were over cooked and limp. I will say though that the shrimp and scallops were delicious. Maybe the new chef was having an "off" night, but that's no excuse for the bad food! Save your time and money and go somewhere else! read more

This restaurant is very unique and has a lot of cool history behind it's facility. The house has it's original chandelier fixtures and the fire place in one of the dining rooms has marble imported from Italy. With 5 dining rooms, including and upstairs and a downstairs, it felt like fine dining at a rich friends house! Our waitress a little scattered, but very attentive - she was great. We had a fried mozzarella appetizer which was amazing. I had the cannelloni for my entree - the seasoned meat inside was waaay too salty though. Besides that, the dessert was delicious! I got an Italian cappuccino with cinnamon and whip cream and it was to die for. Also, the cheesecake was absolute perfection! We will definitely be back! read more

This restaurant is overpriced and has the worst Italian food I have ever had. Service was mediocre but was better than the food itself. The lasagne was terrible! I've had better with Stouffer frozen lasagne from Walmart. Luckily there are so many other good restaurants to choose from in Fort Smith. read more

This was probably one of the best Italian restaurants I have been too. The atmosphere is so romantic and interesting. I ordered the veal piccata. For my side dish I ordered spaghetti. Wow!! The veal and spaghetti were incredible! Best I've had so far. My waiter Josh was great too. I'm in town for a couple of days and then will be moving here mid December. I'm going back to this restaurant for dinner again tomorrow! And, after I move here, it will be one of my go to places for sure! read more

I'm a nearly life-long resident of the River Valley and Taliano's has name recognition to spare. It's supposed to be "the spot" in Fort Smith for fantastic food for an upscale price. All that said, I hadn't eaten at Taliano's until recently, when my friend's held their rather small wedding reception there. The first thing to notice is the decor, which is on the wrong side of quaint. There's rustic and there's just plain old and drab. Taliano's is right in the middle. But the decor doesn't matter, right? It's about the food. That's where things got bad. The food was awful, plain and simple. I had the combination lasagna/cannelloni. The lasagna was extremely greasy, the sauce tasted strange, and there wasn't all that much to it.... it was, by far, the flattest lasagna I've ever had. The cannelloni was filled with Italian sausage that was more like a gritty paste than a sausage. It, too, tasted very strange... and not in a good way. I love Italian food, and have eaten in Italian restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining, and this was the worst I've had in a while. I was genuinely surprised by it. I'd always heard such good things about the restaurant, and based on the food alone, I won't be going back. That being said, I can't give the place one star thanks entirely to the service. We had about ten people in our party, and the one server they allotted to us was beyond wonderful. I felt bad that she had no help, but she was great. read more

The food was very good, service not so much. We had reservations for four and were seated at our reservation time. Our server was very knowledgeable but they seemed to be understaffed. The salad dressings were home made and so was the pasta. I had fettuccini Alfredo and ravioli my wife had the combination. Both were very good but served warm not hot. The bread was terrible for an Italian restaurant. It was just a small sliced loaf of white bread and should have been crusty and warm. We will go back because the food was worth the trip. We chose Talianos for a special family celebration. We even mentioned this when making the reservations. The greeting at the front door was very warm and friendly. It went steadily down hill after that. We were seated on the porch with a very nice view of the ceiling that is in the process of falling down. The table for four was very small. So small, in fact that when we ordered several appetizers to share there was no room for them. To top it off, the waitstaff seemed entirely unprepared and had no clue how to place the dishes on the table. Even so, the appetizers were quite tasty. The calamari was absolutely delicious. I've never had better. We had high hopes for the main courses. The soup and salads were fine, but there was a very long wait between their removal and the serving of the entrees. Very long. Uncomfortably so. Once the entrees arrived, two of the four were disappointing. One had a sauce that simply didn't taste good and the other, the homemade sausage, although it tasted good, it was an odd pairing on the plate. The seafood was well cooked, so there's obviously a chef who knows his/her stuff, but the finishing touches/timing were poorly done. I was so excited about eating here because I LOVE Italian food! The setting is awesome aside from the fact the wall next to our table had food on it from past guests. The salad was great and the fried cheese was alright, the middle was cold. Then came our main course, I had the Veal Marsala and the wife had the sampler. The veal was disgusting, I couldn't eat it. They did bring me out a plate of spaghetti in place of it and it was alright. I tasted some of my wife's dish and it was horrid! The food has to be frozen food, not fresh. The stuffed ravioli was so bland it tasted like I was eating raw squid. YUCK. Save your money, this is authentic frozen Italian cuisine, and honestly, having an Italian background, none of the food we tasted was authentic Italian. The best was the marinara sauce. read more

This is a wonderful restaurant! Coming in late from a trip, my friend and I showed up just as they were closing. We spoke to Sheila (I believe is her name) who invited us in to get meals to go. The chefs were kind enough to fix excellent dishes from scratch, plus dessert. She served us water as we waited & showed us around the beautiful old building in which the restaurant is housed.
