BUYER'S BEWARE! I am getting married next week , I got my fiancé her engagement ring here a few…read moreyears ago and with sign of good faith I returned. My fiancé wanted a simple band with the same engravings as her other ring to match. They told me it was going to take a week and that it was going to be $400.They needed the other ring to make a custom mold for the new ring which was fine. A week goes by and they say its taking longer than expected and the price is going to be $500 ( I understood and told them to follow through ). I come to pickup and the price changed AGAIN to $550 , as pissed as I was I said okay and paid it , to only find out the ring was TOO SMALL AND THE ENGRAVINGS DIDN'T MATCH! It was crunch time since the wedding is in a few days so we bought another wedding band somewhere else and I came to return the ring. They REFUSED to take it back even though they messed up big time. They wouldn't give me my money back and said "we will handle this in court" , I ended up filing a police report and pending a law suit against Aljan Jewelers . It's sad to say they care about $550 more than repeat business and referrals.

I had the worst experience with Kay jewelers in Yorktown Heights NY. ...by no means do business…read morethere. I reluctantly brought in my wedding ring consisting of my engagement ring and anniversary band and wedding band all soldered together. I decided to take care of removing the sizing beads which had caused the ring to become too tight. An easy fix in my eyes. To my surprise I was told they had to send it out for this repair. Again I should have listened to my gut instincts and not left it with Kay. .I was told the crown was damaged also and needed to be replaced. A work order was filled out and I paid IN FULL before the work was done. A HUGE MISTAKE. 10 days later I'm told the ring is back at the store not before I called after 8 days to check on the status. My ring had been taken apart as well as the sizing beads removed and the crown replaced. I was told by kay that there was a miscommunication between the instructions on the work order and the repair center...which is KAYS MISTAKE by their own admission. ..Kays also filed down my bands so thin they are all so fragile and I'm afraid the integrity of all 3 rings is comprised. ...AGAIN KAYS MISTAKE BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION ON BOTH ISSUES. After speaking with Kays assistant manager, daniel, on August 17, the eve of my 15th wedding anniversary which is the reason I wanted my ring repaired in the first place as a gift from my husband to celebrate our years together. He not only treated me rude by not listening to my feelings about my precious ring but continually offered to resend my ring out to have it fixed....WHY WOULD I TRUST KAY TO TOUCH MY RING AGAIN AFTER THEY OBVIOUSLY RUINED IT THE FIRST TIME. I repeatedly requested kay do the right thing and refund the cost of the repair or provide a partial refund to cover the work that was done correctly so that I could take my ring to a competent jeweler of my choice to have it put back together. He did not budge from his manager lingo and just kept repeating himself which was extremely condescending ...I felt humiliated as what I was asking for was not unreasonable. He did offer to expedite service but again I explained I am not comfortable with that offer. Needless to say I left kay with my thin, fragile 3 piece wedding band in tears and very upset....due to Kays inability to make a simple repair. I HAVE CONTACTED MY BANK TO FILE A CLAIM AGAINST KAY FOR UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE ....PLEASE AVOID KAYS AT ALL COSTS. BUYER BEWARE. They do not care about the customer at all only the mighty dollar. Obviously customer service does not begin with Kay.
