Tony did a great job on restoring my grandmother's antique Eastlake dresser. I actually called someone else before finding Anthony. That person told me that he had stopped doing this kind of work, because California has outlawed the use of mineral spirits, but to bring it by for him to take a look at it and see what he could do. I already had the dresser in my truck, but instead, I decided to see if I could find someone else near by, and that led me to Anthony's Restorations. When I brought it to Tony, he told me right away who the manufacturer of the dresser was, and the time frame..about 1870s or 1880s I believe. The dresser had a broken arm on the mirror an it slid into two wood slots to hold it. It had also been painted a reddish-brown color that was not the original color of this dresser. Tony told me he was going to throw some black into it, thereby giving it a more period style finish, so I left it up to his discretion, and this is the outcome. The handles are what was already on it and are not the original handles, but that's fine by me. Overall, I am very pleased with the job he did on it, and I picked it up two months later, as these things take a lot of time to refinish properly. Tony is a very interesting and informative guy and I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to have some quality work done on their restoration projects. read more

My wife received her grandmother's cedar chest many years ago as a family heirloom. It was always her hope to get it restored. The chest had some damage to the top lid, a broken foot, and some delaminated strips. More damage occurred when we had to move it from our home abruptly due to hillside failure. The chest had to be manhandled down the side of a hill and was then damaged further when the movers lifted it in its side completely separating the laminated strips one side. My wife found Anthony on Yelp and we decided to give him a try. When I dropped the cedar chest off I thought perhaps he'd be able to make it look gently used, but never be able to get it back to its original condition. It took Anthony about 8 months from start to finish, but it was well worth the wait. He made it look like it had just come from the furniture store. Not only did he replace the broken leg, replace all the delaminated strips of wood, remove every nick, ding, scratch, and blemish, but he also lightly sanded the inside bringing back the aroma of cedar. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at my wife's cedar chest in total and utter amazement. The ability and skill that Anthony has to take a piece of furniture that was in my opinion completely destroyed and make it look brand new truly shows that he is a master of his craft. Because of him my wife has a piece of her grandmother again. I would definitely recommend Anthony to anyone looking to have a piece of furniture refinished. I didn't expect the quality craftsmanship from Anthony's workshop. Local pop workshop behind a house in the Jurupa valley area where you see nurseries is where you'll find it. Glad I didn't have to go far. I had an 1800's busted wooden harp mirror that had been repaired poorly through the years with what looked like wood putty. Anthony ended up totally redoing the back using the original materials, fixing the hinges so they are adjustable and sturdy again, along with strengthening the back plate. Super happy! You can see how damaged they were, couldn't get the piece to stand, now it looks great. read more

We recently moved and our movers broke the curved glass door in our Broyhill china hutch. We contacted Broyhill and a replacement for the curved glass door was no longer available. I then started a search to find a vendor that could duplicate the broken glass. I was very discouraged after contact a number of glass companies and finding out that no one was able to bend glass. I then came across Anthony's and started corresponding with a Tony. We exchanged a number of emails and i was able to drop off my glass door. Due to the large size of the door, he was concerned that he might not be able to bend the glass to the right curvature. We agreed to let him try and he was successful in duplicating the arc of the glass. We are totally pleased with the results. He is a true artisan. Thank you for a job well done! read more
