Took from December till today April 4th 2025 to receive touch up paint( just in case) it was dried out, Brian added actions to liquify the paint. Needs a QC to make sure the quality of the paint is a "10" Took 3 tries to not have orange peel, thumb prints, different shades, so the bottom cabinets had to be completely redone. I ultimately had to choose another contractor (because of cost limitations - I am prepping my parents' house for sale and we are already over budget), but if I were refinishing cabinets in my own home, I would have chosen Jim for his expertise and professionalism. Jim provided a ballpark quote, but wanted to see the cabinets before providing the exact cost, which highlighted his professionalism and also his understanding that a refinishing job can range in price significantly depending upon the condition of the original cabinets. He was able to visit the house almost immediately after I contacted him and he provided a fair quote a couple days later. During his visit to the house, he explained that my cabinets were red oak. He also explained the extensive job his team would do cleaning the cabinets before refinishing them and why that was an important part of the process. He shared some more cost effective options (white lacquer) and provided me with an estimate that included optional add-ons with their additional costs (soft-close hinges, hardware for cabinets, new drawer boxes to replace the composite ones, etc.). We did have orange peel on the cabinet doors Which Jim reminded me this is 30 dear old, solid birch wood cabinets and that's what I need to remind myself as these are 30 year old wood cabinets. With that being said, the kitchen cabinets are beautiful we have one drawer that doesn't work correctly. Very hard to open and doesn't soft close. Jim made beautiful, maple, solid wood drawers for the kitchen. * First we hired a different Company to remodel our kitchen That was a disaster from day one ! I had reached out for some help cleaning, and sealing quartz countertops, and a marble backsplash. Jim replied almost immediately informing me that this wasn't a service they provide, but then spent the better part of an hour messaging me back and forth giving me all of the information I needed. He explained to me that quartz shouldn't be polished, and doesn't need to be sealed, and gave me all of the reasons why. He then pointed me in the right direction for my backsplash. Jim could have easily ignored my messages, or convinced me to get the services I was requesting even though I didn't need them, but he was completely honest, and helpful. I can't say enough how happy and satisfied I was with Zefferys cabinets. Was hesitant to start my kitchen remodel because was not sure if it would be taken seriously since it was not a full kitchen remodel. We kept the original boxes but got new doors, drawers, countertop, molding. The pantry got new sliding shelves , the new drawers are soft close. We got a new pull out lazy susan, a small additional cabinet under the counter bar which now stores my plastic ware. I love that we got to keep our original back splash that matches so well with the silestone countertop we handpicked with their reference. The hideous crown molding was replaced and the same wood installed in the window sill. We were never asked for money in advance but paid as per our agreement as each phase was completed. Fantastic quality work by Jim and his crew on a large master bedroom upgrade. They created 5 custom cabinets and a ladder so we could have access to ones mounted above a closet. All custom work to fit in the existing spaces. The bookcase cabinet included a glass front to keep areas of dust to a minimum. For the under sink cabinet we coordinated with a marble company so everything would fit together. The work was of very high quality which is what we wanted, not fast prefab work. The only issue was a door that didn't close all the way, and the crew came back to correct that issue immediately. I'm way behind in posting this review as this work was done in the beginning of the year. After 7 months there are no signs of ware or issues. This project was done in the middle of the Corvid crisis and the staff was mostly masked up and aware of our concerns. I will be calling Jim back for our next bathroom and Kitchen upgrade. read more

So on the hunt I went again and found Zeffrys Cabinets. Jim came out right away and gave a super reasonable estimate so I hired him after doing a little research on his company. The work was done to my satisfaction and since he didn't use up my insurance money, he added some requested cabinets to my island as well. We had Jim and his crew do two projects in our home. We were very happy with the first one, a built in entertainment center. We then had him reface our kitchen cabinets. It was beautiful at first, but quickly showed a lot of wear in only a couple months. We called Jim and let him know about the issue, he came in and touched up with a wood tone crayon, like you can buy in any hardware store. I could have done that myself! Of course that quickly wore off. Although his work is beautiful, maybe he is not capable of doing kitchen work that is suitable for people that actually use their kitchen. So pleased with our cabinet bookshelf! Jim came over to take measurements and make sure that he had our design ideas written down & fully understood. Other companies just asked for a description over text and did not give us any drawings or examples, so we did not know what we would be getting. But Jim was able to supply us with a rendering and the contract altogether a few days after his visit. He said it would take 4-5 weeks, but it was completed in 3 weeks and installed just a few days later! So quick! The finishes, shelves, and doors are very nice and we love the color. Both him and his brother in law (who did the installation) were very pleasant to work with. Definitely recommend! Pricing was places well and fairly. Jim completed our remodel a few months ago. From the moment he walked in to our home we liked how he presented himself and the way he was approaching our project. I happen to have very definite ideas about what I like and don't like, and wanted to make all decisions. Our kitchen is very small and I didn't want it to end up looking ordinary. We weren't planning on refacing our cabinets, but Jim said we wouldn't be happy with just painting them and the price to reface was definitely affordable and much less then we thought possible. The kitchen in our new home went from a very dated 70's kitchen to a beautiful modern kitchen. We found Zeffery's Cabinets through a Google search seeking someone to paint the cabinets. Jim came out to the house to review the project. We told him we wanted a peninsula added because the kitchen lacked counter space. He recommended replacing all the doors and drawers versus just painting. The old styling of the wood would be difficult to replicate (on the new peninsula) and it wasn't a very appealing style anyway. Jim allowed us to do the demolition work to get rid of the existing ceramic tile which saved us a little money. He built a beautiful new peninsula, all new doors and drawers, added a new sink and faucet, put in new quartz countertops, painted the upper and lower cabinets two different colors of our choosing, and then put in a beautiful new backsplash. He was very easy to work with, was quick to respond to any questions or concerns, and provided great advice when we were selecting tile for the backsplash. When we decided we wanted a door on the front side of the peninsula, he worked with us to add it even though the peninsula had already been installed. His crew was there when they said they would be, were courteous and respectful of our property, cleaned up at the end of each day, and did great work.
