I hired Mitchell's Stone Restoration and Cleaning Service to clean and restore my travertine floors, granite counter tops and shower walls and floor. This was a one man job with George, the owner , doing all the work. I am very dissatisfied with his service. First of all, the several holes in my stone floors were to be filled with epoxy resin, as stated in the signed contract. Instead he filled them with grout, a much easier and less permanent fix. When I called him out on this, he then refilled the larger holes with the epoxy resin. Next, my counter tops were over sealed and now it shows a film over them which I can't seem to get rid of and my wife hates it. Finally, the shower floor was stripped cleaned and resealed. The seal lasted about three weeks then started to wear off. Every time the shower was used soaked wet spots started to appear in the grout, increasing with each shower. George came back and re-sealed it twice but each time after a couple weeks the sealer started wearing off. I have tried vigorously to contact George Mitchell numerous times over the last month but he will not answer my text, emails or voice messages. It seems he has no interest in finishing the job. This job has been paid in full but not finished. It appears he offers no warranty for his incompetency. We had other people out to look at it. Everyone said the it couldn't be repaired. They said the whole granite slab would need to be replaced and there's no promise it would match the rest of kitchen granite. Then we found George. He is the "Miracle Man". He rebuilt the rusted, broken structure under the sink and made an amazing repair to the granite. it is almost impossible to see the repair. He saved us thousands of dollars! George cleaned, resealed, and polished the marble counter, shower tiles, and floor in my bathroom. He was able to remove about 25 years' worth of mineral and soap scum, some stains, and some damage caused by using the wrong cleaning chemicals. After seeing all the pictures and great reviews on this company. I decided to reach out to the company, left a message for George who I believe is the owner of this company. He returned my call several hrs later. When I spoke with him, he had asked me what I need to fix or repaired. I told George that I have a crack on my granite which is about 2 ft long on my kitchen sink, he then asked me if I can send him a picture of it which I did. He told me that it's repairable and that he can do it. So I went ahead and schedule an appointment for him to come out to do the job two weeks later and when he came out he wanted to take a look at the damage of the granite which he did and gave me two option , 1 is he can repair it without removing the crack granite which will be about 700.00 and 10hrs of work or he can remove the crack granite and redo the whole area which Would cost about double the price. I told George I can do the 1st option and he agree but the. Told me he will have to reschedule it for a different day since he didn't have the equipment and products to do the repairs. He said he can schedule me in within 3 weeks and so when the day came , I never received a call nor did he show up on the day and time of the appointment. I called George and left a message and never received a call back, was very disappointed on the outcome since all the reviews was great reviews. George was prodessional from the return of my initial phone call to the handshake thanking me for my business. All aspects of the job were explained in detail beforehand. As the job was being completed he answered all of my questions regarding travertine, since I'm new to it. There were holes in the tiles, cracks, and scars from the wrong type cleaner being used to clean the grout. I really appreciated the explaination of how to properly clean, and maintain the tile. Holes were filled (color matched perfectly), cracks were addressed the same way, and the scarring polished to perfection, then sealed. The floor looks amazing. I had cracks in my granite countertop and contacted George to see if it could be repaired. He spent a lot of time explaining what they do to make an effective repair, bracing the counter to prevent another crack, and the color matching with the rest of the countertop.
