Lily Rain has always been one of my "go to",stores especially for gifts. I went to return/exchange a pant that did not fit the recipient I bought it for. The store currently carries the pant at regular price (not on sale). The young lady at the register would not take the return even for a store credit as I was 5 days late bringing it back. I certainly understand not giving me a refund, but I don't understand not giving me a store credit. Tags still on pants and I had my receipt. I will not be giving Lily Rain any more business. I explained to the lady that she had no idea the circumstances nor did she care. Unacceptable customer service. I will continue to support mom and pop shops who value/appreciate their customers but this is not one of them. read more

Lilyrain is a cute little boutique in Rice Village, in between bed bath and beyond and express men. They have a wide variety of clothing,accessories, home goods, and beauty products, both from popular designers ( Kate Spade, Jonathan Adler, French Connection, Butter, etc.) and of their own brand, lilyrain. The store has a nice boutique feel, with a wide variety of accessories to choose from but only one of each a style available, and a supply of casual and 'dressy casual' clothing (nothing you would wear to work). I did not see any plus-sized or even many large clothes, so if you're a bit bigger you might have a hard time finding clothing that fits, but the accessories and other items are well worth a visit. The staff was friendly and the store was clean. I loved the feel of the store- very open and light, and the place is filled with natural light during the day. Prices ranged from cheap to moderate to pricey, so if you have a budget you can still find a nice accessory for a good price. read more

This is my go to stop for all my clothes, gifts, and jewelry. Almost my entire closet is from this store!!! It is always so clean and the racks are so pretty. I love love love this boutique. They have the cutest clothes and its not terrible quality. Most boutiques in the village have crap clothes that will disintegrate after day but not lily rain. Keep in mind good quality clothing comes at a price but it is well worth it. They also have home decor and accessories that are also very stylish and fashionable. Plus very nice stationary. It's always super clean inside and they have huge windows so theres plenty of natural light giving the place a glow. I am always greeted when I walk in and asked if I need assistance. My last visit a girl named Aileen was super helpful and helped me pick out a gift for my friends birthday. The fitting rooms are always clean and they also have sale racks there too. Love Lily Rain! People keep referring to it as a boutique, but it's a pretty large storefront with beauty products, clothing, books, knick knacks, and jewelry. For buying gifts, this is a great one stop shop to find something undeniably adorable and to be appreciated. They sell great high quality brands but because it's such a hidden secret, you can find hidden gems on sale. Recently the sale rack was an additional 50% off, so I got a knee length work skirt for $14.90! I feel like the store is usually understaffed on the weekend, but it's so organized that I never notice it and appreciate the chance to shop in peace. Sales attendants have great options that I trust when I'm shopping alone. read more

I popped in here today to check out the store and to pick up a swag bag they were offering through Tidbits (for Front Row members only, sorry). The employees greeted me immediately and explained the different brand Lily Rain carries (including their own house brand) as well as the overall concept of the store. They sell clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and gifts. For clothes, they sell high-end brands like Paige denim, French Connection and Trina Turk. I noticed Dogeared jewelry as well as Jonathan Adler picture frames and mugs. The store design was really cute, and it looked like a fun place to browse if I had more time (and money). I did see some really beautiful items during my quick loop around the store, but the majority of the jewelry appeared cheaply made and not worth the boutique price tag. However, I was able to find my uber-conservative friend a very affordable "Disappearing Bill of Rights" mug, the text of which vanishes upon the addition of hot liquid. He got a kick out of it, so that was money well spent. Selling gender-neutral products like these may be a good way of enticing men into the store, too. In general, the store reminded me of a cross between Anthropologie and Francesca's, leaning toward Anthropologie's clothing style (and price tag) and more towards Francesca's when it comes to gifts, jewelry and accessories. Other than marketing themselves as a small local business, I''m not sure how they plan to differentiate from the other two major players as well as other stores in the Rice Village area with the same concept, but I hope for their sake they stay in business. Next time I shop here it probably won't be for the clothing, but with hopes of finding a cool unique gift. Also, their gift packaging is really pretty! read more

I stumbled across this adorable boutique the other day in rice and was so surprised/excited. How have I been missing this place all these months!! They have a good mix of clothing and unique little gifts. I have yet to find a place like it in Houston. If you need a good gift for a friend come take a look here. Terrible customer service. I really liked Lily Rain's assortment of clothing and gifts, but will not be shopping here again. They somehow were unable to find my store credit and were also not able to offer any solutions whatsoever. Because of this, I chose to not make my purchase today. Meanwhile, the woman checking out next to me was trying to buy a few different bracelets. One of the bracelets broke while she was still at the counter. The girl behind the counter tried to tell the woman that the sale was final, but eventually let her return everything she had just purchased. 2 sales lost in under 5 minutes.... Since this they have found and mailed me my refund along with a an apology and a 25% off discount. I really do appreciate that they were willing to continue looking for my refund and apologize. I just wish the customer service had been this good while I was still in the store. read more

They have the BEST customer service! All the girls were incredibly helpful. My daughter and I love shopping here. They are a great go-to for gifts. We are always able to find something. Return policy is awful. Even at Christmas time there is no refund after 15 days with receipt. Will never step foot in the store again.

I love the store and the merchandise is absolutely flawless. However, the people that work there kind of give you attitude and are always following you around. There is quite a lot of merchandise to browse but if you take your time its like they assume your stealing. read more

I go to Lily Rain because it's such a cute store with so many different things. The 2 girls that were working seemed too busy to take time to help me out with a fee questions. They answered them but very shallowly, they both seemed as if it was a problem that I was wanting to know more about candles they carry & don't carry. I love the store, I purchased my product and I will go back. But if you work somewhere, anywhere at that fact Customer Service is a must! These girls need to step it up. Awesome new boutique in Rice Village! Not only does it offer a large variety of clothing, but it also has a great denim selection. While the clothing section is a great place to start, the store offers other quirky, fun gifts and a considerable selection of beauty products. The beauty selection is unique as I have not seen many of the products in other Houston stores. However, they provide bowls of samples next to a few of these products (which I definitely took advantage of) and some information on a few of the brands. If you're walking around Rice Village, it is definitely worth stopping by and taking a look around! read more

I visited on a whim to pick up a quick mother's day gift. I was going to stop in at Express, however, upon seeing this new store, I decided, hey, what the heck. Not only was the staff helpful and friendly, I was able to get some much needed help in picking out a gift for mom. The two sales women working at the store are duplicitous and change the prices for various customers even while they're shopping in the store. While browsing, I overheard one of the sales women tell other customers that the entire store was 40% off due to covid 19 and the need to move inventory. That same associate then proceeded to try and convince me to purchase an item later on by saying she'd give me a "special deal" of 40% off listing price. I overheard her use this line again with a couple other customers in the store. I brushed it off and decided to buy the item since I believed it was discounted. However, after I made my purchase (during which both sales women were at the registers) I realized they didn't honor the discount and I was charged full price. Conveniently for them, there wasn't any visible itemization available at the register while they were ringing up my merchandise so I couldn't check prices as I go. Don't bother going-clothes and such are cute but overpriced and you can't rely on their discounts. There are plenty of other nice boutiques in Houston to visit. read more

Great place to shop for gifts for my wife and our daughters. Lots of unique things not to be found elsewhere. The sales staff are very helpful when asked, but let you browse without being bothered as there are a lot of beautiful things to see. read more
