I love the unique, and quality fashion at this Anthtopologie store inside Woodfield Mall. On the weekends there are typically long lines and only 1-2 cashiers, but it is worth the wait, if you have the time. I know it is a chain store, but I feel like every store I visit is slightly different depending upon the region, current season, and sale room finds. Dressing room staff are friendly and helpful, and they take time to listen and understand what you are shopping for. Take time to stop, and smell the candles, as they are often the best scents and not too over powering. Walking through the housewares section is always a treat. The prices here are higher than local area stores like TJ Maxx or Home Goods, but shopping Anthropologie is a true luxe experience in itself. I could spend a couple of hours in this store just enjoying the atmosphere. Escape for a couple of hours and enjoy yourself here for awhile. Order a coffee, tea, or mocha ice storm from Nordstrom's coffee bar, just down the escalator, then browse while you treat yourself to a drink too! And don't forget to sign-up for their email list do you get a special birthday offer too. read more

My store!!! Whenever I go to woodfield mall, this is the first store I wanna check out. 80% of my clothes are from here. I do not like every clothing they sell but they have really amazing must have pieces. Exterior and interior is clean, organized and instagrammable. Love the smell! The creative displays are just the epitome of art. Sale rack is worth to check out. The only thing why I did not give this location a 5 star is that they used to have kids stuff but now they don't. I went into Anthropologie to buy two items this evening and they were both on a 50% off sale rack. The sales associate and then the manager both explained that they were placed in the wrong section, however there were six other shirts like them in the same spot. I expected them to honor the sale price but they said they'd rather lose a customer then give me the sale price so I walked out. Very rude employees and I would not recommend the store! read more

I continue to not understand the "shabby chic" trend, which is what this store trades in. The women's clothing could be described as "retro" or "boho" or "vintage" - or what I simply call "ugly." And, no, the clothes don't fit women with larger chests (oh well). So I won't be paying $90 for an ill-fitting, ugly, gauzy shirt. They do have home goods and accessories, some of which are nice. I've bought some sweet-smelling soap here and a picture frame, but that's really it. read more

The Anthropologie Woodfield Store has the worst customer service/managers & workers. The women there are so cold and don't acknowledge you unless you have items in your hands and look like you're going to give them a huge sale. Karens run that store. From the sales to the manager, complete bitches- you work retail darlings, you're not doing anything groundbreaking. It was a snow blizzard in Chicago today and they still don't give you the time of day, but sure will give you attitude; it was colder in that store than it was outside in the storm. The only reason this gets two stars is that i LOVE their product and it makes for great gifts for my wife. I am also obsessed with their decorative accessories and housewares! My problem is getting help from anyone is impossible unless you are getting rung up. Essentially everyone hangs out at the cashwrap whether ringing someone up or not and those associates that are on the sale floor...good luck even getting a hello out of them. It's too bad as the concept and product are amazing and the atmosphere while being cool and hip loses its ambience once you realize no one wants to help you. I have shopped other locations with slightly better service so I can only assume this is due largely to corporate culture and not individual poor service. Repeat after me! "Go directly to the back of the store. Do not stop to look at what's new. Do not stop to look at the amazingly creative artwork made out of styrofoam cups and spray paint. Do not stop to consider redoing all the drawer knobs on everything in your home. Do not stop to discuss anything with the sales lady. Go straight to the back room where all the deals are." This is the Anthropolgie I know and love. For sure, it is hit or miss and my predecessor isn't kidding about blouses for size A cups only. Do Bohemian French women not have breasts? But especially this time of year, the sweaters are amazing. Shabby chic or maybe just chic. I feel so ooh la la whenever I am there. And maybe some day, when my ship finally comes in, I will shop in the ridiculously expensive front of the store. But in the meantime, I am quite happy in the back. read more

I had one of the greatest shopping experiences with a sales girl named Cindy (I really hope I remembered it correctly) last week Wednesday. She was so kind and helpful. She could see in my face I was settling for a dress and told me no way, I'm not letting you leave with that, we need to find something better! She was so helpful, as was the first woman who helped, unfortunately I never got her name. By the end of the trip I loved the dress and felt great. Sadly, I'll be returning the dress as when I arrived home I noticed a tear in the back of the dress :-( and wasn't able to wear it to the event I had planned. :-( But nevertheless I was so thankful for the help I received from Cindy and the other sales woman! The upscale version of Urban Outfitters, this cool retail establishment is owned by the same company and employs a similar marketing concept as Urban. Although I sometimes like the boho look (if done right and not too excessive), I have yet to really get into the clothing at this store, perhaps because the prices are more upscale than the look here. But I really love the home accessories here! I found the most awesome candles here; the Capri blue line of candles' scent was phenomenal - at $28 per candle, they were not cheap, but the scent and size made it hard to pass up. They also carry Voluspa, which is a premium line of candles. I've heard that they have some great sales, although I have yet to find anything. My problem with this store is that it's almost a sanitized version of boho. read more

I adore the Anthropologie company and the Woodfield location. I like it because it obviously fits my taste, I like the vintage/retro look of the 30s/40s. The store is not huge, the Highland Park location (I think that's where it is) is a lot bigger. However, they do compensate for size with packing this store with a lot of clothes, accessories, and home decor items. The store is on the pricey end, so if spending $70 on a garment is not your style, this is probably not the place for you. I have never been disapointed with any item purchased. The quality of the garments is in line with the price tag. The staff is really polite and helpful, but not overbearing. I don't recall a single trip to Anthro that didn't result in a purchase. I am simply obsessed with anthropologie. It suits my style and tastes exactly. I absolutely love everything I get from this store. Everytime I go into this store, it's hard to leave without dropping some cash...in fact I don't think I've ever gone in and came out with nothing. I think it's important to buy things you absolutely love even if you have to spend a little more money. I use to not allow myself to buy things that I thought were too expensive - now I realize that when I spend more to get what I really love, I get more use out of the item than the cheaper things I tire of easily or only wear/use once. Sometimes it's better to spend a little more cash if you will get more use out of an item. I have a larger chest and haven't had a problem fitting into clothes. read more

I haven't ever stepped foot inside this Anthro since I'm from California, but I've ordered through the phone to this location since some items were in stock here that weren't in stock online. I was helped out by Hilary and she is a complete rockstar in the service department. I had to call back on 2 separate occasions since I was being fickle about purchasing the georgina duvet - she had the patience of a saint. If customer service over the phone is this lovely, then I can only imagine the in-store experience. I'm glad Anthropologie customer service is as consistent on the west coast as it is on the east coast. read more

The people who work here are awful. I have to go here to shop for my mother so I am here a couple times a year. EVERYTIME, it never fails, there are people whol could not be less helpful. The last time I went, they were having the most inappropriate conversation, I cannot repeat it. It was a recount of a special night with one of the other employees.
