Dr. Gherman falsely accused me of exceeding my prescribed dose of medication. The bloodwork indicated an abnormal value and i have serious side effects after starting her prescribed protocol. Dr. Gherman refused to provide further treatment, stating that I had violated protocol by exceeding the dose. When I offered to show how much I had used, she told me that that I had obtained a second dose of medicine from another person and that she would be calling the police. She didn't even try and make a referral for another physician. Does she want me to have a health problem? This is highly unethical. How can someone like that practice medicine? I do not know why the blood work levels are so high. My ankles are very swollen, I have gained a lot of weight, and my blood pressure was up. It is not caused by exceeding the dose. I don't know what caused this problem. I want to get treatment. I don't want to gain 20lbs of weight! I wanted to lose 5-10 lbs and now. I don't want swollen feet or high blood pressure. I don't know why it happened but it could be related to the hormone therapy that Dr. Gherman put me on and I want to understand my health better. I'm concerned about my health. I had a positive attitude about Dr. Gherman. I was always happy to see her, even up until the day that she concocted the story that I was exceeding the dose. When she asks "how are you?", I respond "happy to see you." I followed Dr. Gherman's instructed dose by taking the medication once weekly on the same day. One time, I took it two days late, but other than that, it was every Friday. I am completely current on all of my doses and have not exceeded the dose at all, nor have I taken external sources of medication, as Dr. Gherman falsely claimed. The health problem I have is swollen ankles. Dr. Gherman was too busy during our prior scheduled appointment (I came 5 minutes early). She did not give the medication she said she would give me to counteract the problem. In the most recent visit, she said that the reason I didn't get the medication was that I had run out in a hurry, but that wasn't true! I left because she was too busy and I came back as soon as we both could meet. I was on time and she was overbooked. We agreed that I'd come back as soon as possible, and I called soon to schedule an appointment at the earliest time. I was not upset that she was too busy; I was understanding and did not mind coming back. The office staff was friendly. It has a very strong smell of plug in air fresheners (which gives me asthma). But compared to the egregious medical malpractice, I can't say these details make a huge difference in the overall care I've received. I'm really concerned about my ankle swelling and bloodwork values and I want to make sure that I am doing everything under medical supervision. I have been clear about this to all of my doctors. But after I told my primary care doctor about starting treatment with Maria, he was upset because he did not want me to do hormone replacement treatment (my hormone levels were a bit low and much lower than normal). My primary care doctor won't treat my swollen ankles because I went to do hormone therapy with Maria and Maria won't treat me because she wrongly thinks I'm exceeding the dose. Both of these doctors are acting wrongly. Dr. Gherman came to the wrong conclusion. It's a plausible explanation for why my bloodwork was too high, but it's wrong. She can ask if I'm exceeding the dose. But if I say I'm not exceeding the dose, we should try to figure out what is going on with the bloodwork so that we can fix the issue. She should not conclude that I am lying and then proceed to make up a story about how I have exceeded the dose by obtaining from a friend. I don't know how or where to follow up with my condition. I am concerned about my health. read more

This is my first experience with a weight loss clinic and I am very satisfied with the process and the people. The nurses are very kind and encouraging and the Dr very honest and careful. The Dr had me take my blood pressure in the morning and evening and show her my log before she would move me from a half dose to full dose of Phentermine. I am having great success with the Phentermine and water pills and the scale they use is high-tech giving a readout of water, fat, and muscle composition each time you weigh in. They do not charge for coming in to be weighed or measured and only a small fee if you need to see the Dr. To get another 30 days worth of medications you don't need to see the Dr but is recommended every 3 months to do so. They don't push their own lab tests and gladly took my tests and EKG results from my regular provider, Kaiser. read more

I found this establishment through Groupon for vitamin B-12 injections. When I first arrived at the office I was a little nervous but I met with Gladys who is very knowledgeable and friendly. She made me feel very relaxed and at ease. It took a couple of injections to feel the results of the vitamin B-12 but was pleasantly surprised with the results. I had a total of 12 with my coupon and after I completed I ended up buying another 6. They had a special (which they do every month for various services ) for vitamin D injections - $20 each or a pack of 6 for $100. I immediately felt the results from the vitamin D injections and I'm so grateful I found this establishment ~ I feel SO MUCH BETTER! My hair has stopped falling out and I was told I look at least 10 years younger. I am going for a consultation for fillers today and will keep you updated! read more

Yes, I don't understand the negative review either. But the office staff is terrific!! Very helpful, very on top of everything. They are ALWAYS on time, never have had to wait at all!! The office is kept very clean and organized. The Dr. is informative, direct, and available for questions and sometimes last minute appointments if you are there for a weigh in, and want to see her about other things. Never felt rushed to end the appointment. If you are looking for cozy, comfy, you won't find that, but that does not mean she is not a good Doctor. She does not make you feel bad about your weight, and has suggestions for things that may be an issue for you to see your primary Dr. about.... I did a follow up with my primary Dr. on one issue and so far I am so please she mentioned a new direction for me I wouldn't have looked into otherwise. I have been losing weight at my own pace, and I am very pleased with the program, the pace and the support most of all! It is working for me, and that is what matters! I saw Dr. Gherman not as her patient but as a requirement for a disability claim. Her one time office visit was paid for by the insurance company. The office is a bottom floor, disability friendly large suite with several exam rooms and ample parking, including 4 EV charging spots for both J1772 and Tesla chargers, though all spots were full. NEED MORE EV PARKING! I arrived 30 minutes early and saw several people in the lobby picking up their injectable medications at the front desk. This was in late summer 2019. Watching the front desk, I could see they handled customers quickly and normally had their medication ready when they arrived. Upon meeting Dr. Gherman, I was very impressed she had actually reviewed and was familiar with the details in the most recent 500+ pages of my medical record created in the past 2 years. She did an exam and was quickly able to notice the issues in my spine - which other one visit disability MDs have missed during rushed exams. Since the insurance only had the past 2 years sent to her office, she reviewed my life history orally with me to get a complete picture. Dr. Gherman is very much a no nonsense MD. She presents the facts objectively and engages in conversation if you don't understand the implications of deficiencies in vitamins, hormones, and exercise. Upon completion of the exam, I asked her opinion of where my lab results should be. It never hurts to get a second opinion, as each MD carries with them not only their education, but their life's experiences practicing on multiple patients. She gave me advice on what I should do, which I took to my excellent primary care MD at Kaiser. He agreed with what she said, and began hormone replacement therapy, carefully monitored with labs to titrate the dosage. He has also suggested a line of oral vitamins he likes to elevate my B levels, as opposed to injections Dr. Gherman preferred. Again, every MD has their preferences, based on experience. As I was not her patient, I did not expect any medical advice, but now, 2 months after making changes she recommended, I genuinely feel better acting on what she pointed out. I appreciate Dr. Gherman's serious regard for a one time patient, her good advice, and the fact she is right to the point. If you want a MD who is willing to glance over your weight problem or lab results, look elsewhere - but if you want a MD who will openly tell you what is right/wrong and outline a program to make things better, she's the one. If you're reading Mr. Garrett's 1-star review below, you might click on his profile and read the other 117 MD reviews he's written and decide how to weight his input, as it indicates either there are no good MDs in the world, or maybe the patient is a hypochondriac who's been banned from most every medical office/hospital in California & Hawaii. PROS: Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. The clinic is fairly new, and it is well kept, both in the lobby and each individual room is well maintained. Great staff and Very Knowledgeable. I think though you really need to have very defined fitness and health goals, which I mean is that you need to take more charge of your health and wellness. No prescription or shot will do all the work for you, so I would recommend to get optimum results, make time to work out, eat right and track your food and calorie intake via MYFITNESSPAL or something like that, so you can see what your eating and what you need to cut out, which will help you hit your health goals. It only takes 5 minutes a day to do and has helped me in addition to the help I've gotten from the Clinic :) read more

I thought I was making an appointment at what used to be the Fremont location, and the day before my appointment I was told to go to the South Bay office. No problem! When I get there, I'm informed that they're no longer affiliated with Fremont- no one bothered to inform me within the last 2 weeks? Mind you, I live 2 hours away, so this is already very inconvenient. Anyway.. Meet with the doctor, and I felt she wasn't really listening, as I know about the medications already, since I'm only restarting the program, but she decided that I should start another medication that I've never used. Three days into using these pills, I'm GAINING weight, I am constantly drowsy, and I feel woozy. I call the office and ask the doctor to change my medication back to what I've used in the past, and she leaves me a message stating she won't switch me and she urges me to continue using it. She said make an appointment and come in for reevaluation, and I did. The nurse was very friendly and kind, but the medical assistant was horrible. And the nurse also couldn't change the meds, so why waste 2 hours of travel time if no one can help me? I demanded a refund for services that did not work and for horrible service, and for being forced to take a medication I don't agree with, and the rude assistant wouldn't even listen to me. When I went to the office when it was plan b, people were nicer and actually listened. This place was a joke. They're definitely asking people for yelp reviews because I've heard it myself. I will never return to this place after the experience from the doctor forcing meds on me, and the rudest MA ever. Customer service is key, and this place needs to learn that. I will be seeking legal counsel (FYI). read more

I really loved this clinic. I go for weight loss reasons for almost a year now. My results were going great losing tons of weight, but I relapsed and that was my own fault. But they are getting too expensive and charging for every little thing. First it was the no show/not giving a 24 hour notice of cancelling an appointment fee charging $25. Which I understand why. But now they are charging a doctors visit fee that's $35 every visit. I chose this clinic because it wasn't that costly than other clinics. Also, I never had any pain when getting the B-12 injection, i have a high tolerance for needles. But today a new girl gave me the injected me and it pinched and hurt a bit. I really love the doctor here, she really cares about her patients. But I'm not spending that much money for losing weight, it's not worth it. I have one more visit that I need to go to because I already paid for it, but that will be my last visit there. read more

Please avoid this clinic. I did the 20 units botox with coupon purchased from living social. This my first time with the clinic, but not my first time to do the botox on my crawl space around the eyes. I didn't feel big difference (in comparison to my other experience) after 3-4 weeks and did a follow up, per the Dr. there's 50% improvement and it means a success injection. Excuse me? I don't think there's any 50% improvement, maybe 30% and I'm really disappointed on the experience, I will switch back to my original clinic. Save your money and don't go. read more

Everyone here is nice and accomidating, but some nurses are better than others. I only came for B12 shots to improve my energy levels and it helped, but a few times the shots left a large blue bruise for a week. I suggest you keep booking with the same nurse once you find one who has the best technique. Unfortunately I don't remember the best one's name or I'd gladly share. read more
