When we decided to finally reach out to them to see what the next plan of action was, the woman on the phone seemed like it was such a burden to schedule an appointment for me. The roof was finally installed a week later but shortly afterwards we noticed a few shingles flapping in the wind. We were unable to get ahold of anyone on the phone and was often left listening to "please leave a voicemail" so I decided to reach out via Facebook which also took some time to receive a response. When we did receive a response instead of the woman being apologetic she was defensive and actually said "well this is our busy season and we don't prefer communication via Facebook" maybe someone should ANSWER THE PHONE THEN! Even after all this we still supported them and referred them to other people and now we are really regretful of that. A few days ago we received a bill that said we owed them for the roof they put on over a year ago. When we called for clarification my husband left a voicemail and received a call shortly there after from someone who said they had an invoice issue and to call Monday and they would resolve it. Mind you the invoice had a handwritten note on it for us to call them immediately so obviously they saw this an investigated it before it went out. Luckily for us we paid with a check but we feel bad for the people who paid cash and didn't keep their receipts for over a year and also for the elderly who may not think twice about whether they paid it and will unknowingly cut this business another check for services they already paid for. To add insult to injury we ended up with a BAT INFESTATION due to a large hole left on the back of our house where the dormer roof met the other part of the roof. The hole was so big you could fit a soft ball through it. Imagine the horror of hearing 100s of bats scratching in your ceiling. I would never recommend this company to anyone not even my worst enemy.

The morning of June 17th, 2021, he did the installation. Later that day I stopped by the property and was shocked that several areas looked very unprofessional. That afternoon I called Mr. Moreland and we had a conversation. Initially, I calmly explained why I was dissatisfied. Mr. Moreland became incredibly angry and condescending. At the end of the call, he said to me, "you are about the most ignorant person I've ever heard, goodbye" and then he hung up. However, if Delmas Moreland responds to complaints from some customers the way he did for me, I can understand why those customers may be intimated enough to avoid any further interaction with him and avoid giving him a negative review. I certainly hope that sharing my experience with Moreland's Guttering will keep others from having to go through what I did. No one should have an inferior gutter installation and then have severe intimidation tactics used against them. That may be why you don't see many negative reviews from unsatisfied customers. I believe Delmas Moreland saw me as an old man, with an old beat-up truck, wanting gutters installed on an old house. I think that may be part of the reasons why he didn't see the need to do a professional job or treat me respectfully. Furthermore, I don't believe he was aware that the work he did wasn't at my residence. On July 30, 2021, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). As of September 18, 2021, Mr. Moreland has totally ignored two separate requests from the BBB trying to mediate my complaint. Why is that, especially if he thought he did a professional and respectful job? He knows what he did and made no attempt whatsoever to account for his work and behavior. You only need to look at my pictures and documentation to understand why multiple sources have concluded the same I have. Additionally, Moreland's Guttering from Winchester, VA has a poor rating of D+ on the Better Business Bureau's website. Rainwater should fall off the shingle drip edge into the gutter (not behind it) but the gutter was not aligned correctly in numerous areas. In 10 about years, the flashing installed over the facia board hid the rotting wood perfectly, and, as a result of this, all facia boards on the residence to date are rotted and must be replaced. Unfortunately, I was not onsite during installation, and, I authorized them to install the flashing over all facia boards and was not advised of any rotten facia boards prior to the installation. Great gutters, but, IMHO, if you hire this contractor, be there when they're and watch them like a hawk and ask the right questions and you probably will be ok.
