I went to the office in Libertyville, told $65 but found out that was only for cleaning my hearing aids. The test was $100 but was not told that nor was I told of it when I left the office. Ins. Co. paid everything except $5 but they added $25 onto my bill claiming I signed a Compliance Form - my Ins. Co. told me I did not owe it. Since I had problems with the tablet, they did it for me, answered all the questions & told me to sign the Compliance Form which I did not know what it was - forced into paying them extra $25. First thing coming out of young inexperienced doctor was: You need new hearing aids & you have very good insurance, they will pay $5,000 (before I was even tested). There's nothing wrong with my hearing aids & I can hear good. She told me everything opposite of what my Retired Experience Doctor. The office staff, Selina, was very unprofessional. When I mentioned that online on another site, the owner who is also young & dishonest stated that girl was not in the office day of my appointment - LIED. I have a receipt with her name on it showing my new appointment which I cancelled.

We had a family member who had a severe cut due to a kitchen knife. It was very clear that this was a serious cut needing medical attention. We were concerned and started calling provider acute centers until we contacted NMFMC in Gurnee next to the Holiday Inn. Our regular provider (NSHS) was too busy and there were issues with the other acute care centers. We walked in and instead of waiting we got immediate attention. I also noticed that other people coming in also did not have to wait long if they also had serious issues. Even the chairs were more comfortable than other medical facilities. Because of the severity of the cut a number of medical care tasks were performed. It took a while. While waiting I walked up to one of the medical admens and asked how everything was going. The medical admen pulled a screen identifying and mentioning to me the particular patient care task our family member was expereincing and then telling me the next medical procedure that was performed and telling me how long I would have to wait. Having a healthcare IT background I was immediately impressed. This was the first time I had encountered process oriented patient care. To top it off the Dr A and the J shared some comic relief with our family member during the beginning of the patient - doc - nurse encounter. Laughter and happyness is a great pain deterrent, calming intial concerns. , My suggestion to anyone is even if Northwestern Medical is out of your network, when you have an immediate care need, drive the extra distance, spend a little more, and experience a great healthcare outcome!
