And another mother told me she would be filing CPS and licensing reports ... because the same staff member Sarah , treated her INFANT wrongly as well ... and thought it was funny. Also when you bring up legal affairs they will ( in the same breath) delete camera footage and tell you that you may only direct your concerns to higher up directors because you brought up legal affairs . They lie about involving higher ups when families are upset so that you do not reach out yourself . The directors allow their staff to let new babies cry for long periods of time . They hire idiots that know nothing about the law or how to care for peoples INFANTS. And should be cited for deleting camera footage ,before the 30 day waiting period .

Each teacher there also made sure to know each child. My child every morning gave hugs to all the staff to start their day and a hug at the end as well. Field trips were arranged, the curriculum is awesome and fun. Not only did my child learn math and reading, but also culture lessons, Spanish, nutrition, but also had a physical ed class as well. During play the children were learning. The center reaches out to parents and gives the parents tools to help at home as well with educational growth. There is a nap time or quite time for those kiddos who no longer nap. I just can't say enough about how wonderful the staff really is because I never worried about my child while they were at the center.

The teachers are well qualified and Mrs. Gee, the director, is very involved in the enrichment of the staff, parents, and children alike. There was one experience that will never leave me that demonstrated the value of such a wonderful place like the Greenbelt Children's Center-one afternoon I had gone to pick up my sons and found that the children were next door in a recreational room at a concert that had been arranged by the staff. I went in the room and found Mrs.G on the floor with my son and her arm around him, comforting him after a long day. I could see from several feet away that she truly has a passion for what she does and she greatly cares for the children. The center enforces healthy meals and snacks, ensures proper hand-washing of the children constantly to prevent the spread of germs, and the security protocol implemented is comforting, knowing that my children are safe when I leave them in their care. The kids loved having swimming 3 times a week and swimming lessons as an option. My only concern was the price, especially when I had to pay double the tuition for 2, however you can't put a price on a quality facility like GCC. I love GCC and hope that I will be able to afford several more summers there for my children. The experience was unforgettable.

Our girls love their teachers, know that they are loved in return. They have learned a tremendous amount during their time there, emerging with the skills they need for the next phase of their education, from potty training (which SS staff heroically take the lead on) to counting and ABCs. The facility itself is great and still quite new (we started while the new center was still under construction and they were in temporary space at GSA). They've got garage-based parking for dropoff; good bike parking options; a great location in general. There's a private playground, lots of natural light in the classrooms. Their COVID track record has been really good, with prompt notification during the small number of positive cases and no spread--a testament to the efficacy of their protocols. Hopefully this will feel like a totally irrelevant part of choosing a daycare soon after I post it, but it does bear mention today. And I do think it speaks to the professionalism of the center administration and the staff's commitment to safety.

Semillitas is a really special place that we feel lucky to have found for our son. It's small size…read more(25 children) means that all the teachers know all the children and vice versa. My son started in the toddler room at around 17 months and quickly adjusted to daycare (I was amazed to see how happy he was to return on his second day, and this has continued for nearly 2 years). Health and safety was a huge priority for me, and Semillitas has excelled in this area. We appreciate the photos and updates through the app, and the really thoughtfully-planned community gatherings to celebrate important times of year. The parent-teacher conferences Semillitas holds (complete with a slide deck of photos and information on developmental milestones) are also very sweet. Semillitas has instilled a love of music and instruments in my son through daily circle time and music workshops. We've found the level of Spanish immersion to be just right for early childhood education - my son is learning Spanish but I'm still able to easily communicate with staff members in English. We look forward to him continuing his education in a bilingual setting and feel that Semillitas provided him with a great foundation for this. We've really enjoyed getting to know the other families as well. My only regret is that we didn't start our son at Semillitas sooner!

When she started she was not potty trained. Ms Brooks (the owner AND teacher) has helped her blossom in so many ways. My 3 year old now knows some colors and numbers in Spanish, she recognizes her name by sight, can tell you how to spell her name without seeing the letters and she even knows how to write the majority of her first name. She is also fully potty trained. She knows letter, numbers, shapes (including octagon and hexagons) and what surprised me the most is that she knows all of her alphabets in sign language ( we go straight down the list, mix it up, and we even give her the wrong answers sometimes to see if she corrects us, which she does) Ms. Brooks is an excellent teacher, along with her daughters who help occasionally. I chose the word school earlier because that is exactly what its like. They wear uniforms, they have homework, art projects and more. My daughter loves her and she loves the kids right back. From a parents point of view, outside of how much she teaches the kids, she RARELY closes (outside of major holidays) and she is very flexible. Another plus is that the class setting is small for it to be a center. But they all learn so much and I love it!

Since going to this daycare my daughter is 3 years old reading, writing and talk very clear using words like Marvelous in a sentence or Awesome. I am so proud of her and I am especially happy with her teacher. I never see anyone come in and out of this child care center with hand/foot/mouth virus, the flu or and other virus because this facility is very clean. 5 stars to this center.
