Nick arrived on time, explained a little bit about how he approaches the repair, what the cost might be and what worst case scenarios would be, and I let him go to work. Of the 35 years we've owned it, it only was running, intentionally, for maybe 15 years, so there was not a lot of wear and tear. Just be careful, he seems nice enough, just be careful, get everything in WRITTING. I have to keep learning these lessons.
