Antiques Barn in New Paltz, NY is the place to be for anyone who loves antiques+vintage items. This shop is made up of individual booths run by different vendors. As you're walking, you'll come across one booth selling vintage glassware, another selling antique kitchen tools, someone else has vintage books, wooden accessories and even furniture. Options are endless. What I like about Antiques B. is the price range. If you're looking for something small or big, there's a price point for everybody. I mean... you won't leave here empty-handed. I enjoyed killing an hour or so browsing the plentiful and varied vintage items in this well laid out barn. These types of places can easily get over-crowded and chaotic (which can be fun in its own way) but there was room to move without fear of knocking anything over. I will be back as I didn't get to see evrything. read more

Wonderful beautiful antique shop ran by two kind and knowledgeable gentlemen. This is a MUST SEE if you are in the area! It's also a great rainy day activity. I just loved all of the merchandise - the vintage clothes and hats, the buttons, car hood ornements, coats, postcards, photographs, globes and maps. Everything was amazing! As an antiques enthusiast and very active hobby collector, this is my favorite multi dealer antique store in the Hudson valley area. (And I can pretty safely say I have been to them all.) A large antique store in a huge, open barn. There were so many cool pieces and I could have spent hours scouring through all of the items. Make sure you look up, down, left and right because I almost missed a beautiful old polaroid that was hanging by one of the overhead beams! It can be a bit overwhelming but it's a cool place to peruse through even if you don't plan to buy anything. They had a 20% off storewide sale when I visited which purchases all the more enticing and great value. read more

This is a large, 2-story barn that has a great selection of antiques. There are little spaces for each dealer, sectioned off, almost like little rooms. There is definitely a lot to explore here, so take your time and go slowly! I come in here every time I am in New Paltz to check out what is new. read more

This "antique" store has mostly what I would call modern, or vintage items. Not very many really old antiques like you would expect from such a large store. The person at the register was rude for lack of a better word. Honestly it was a lot of overpriced junk. So much costume jewelry and kitschy things from the 50s. I did not have a pleasant shopping experience here and would never return. Upon purchase I tried to negotiate my price down 1$ but he wouldn't even budge 50 cents when I didn't have change. I would never come back here as someone who truly loves and enjoys shopping for antiques. This was an awful shopping experience. Don't waste your time coming here. The people working here might just try and ruin your day. If you don't mind rude staff and are looking for "antiques" from the 1980s this is the place for you. Expect to be overcharged. read more

Five stars for being clean, well organized, having a nice variety of items, affordable prices, having super friendly service, having ample parking, and being in a great location with a variety of other shops to browse in. My boyfriend and I drove to New Paltz for the day mainly to revisit some of the antique shops in town, and I think that the Antiques Barn is the best of them. It's a very fun place to explore. I really enjoy the fact that they have two floors of shopping, and they make good use of their space by partitioning off the area into multiple vendor booths. For the most part it is actually a four star experience: very pleasant but not life altering. They get the extra point for the people behind the counter who seemed genuinely interested in engaging in conversation and also for the excellent deals I've gotten on lovely treasures I have found both times I've visited. I usually just browse at antique shops and I've purchased something twice here, which in itself says a lot. read more

This place got me interest in antiquing! Love the feel of this, even if it is a bit dusty and you feel like you might fall through the floor boards a bit. It's also located in the Water Street Market which is one of my favorite places ever. I've purchased a few things from here but my favorite is a baby blue 6-string guitar for $40. It just needed a string change and TLC. I learned a few songs on it. read more

We went hiking nearby in The Mohonk mountain preserve, and decided to take a little detour to check out the town of New Paltz. While exploring Water Street Market we took a stroll into the Antiques Barn. From the moment we walked in the owner was exceptionally based on the simple fact that we had our children with us. He made it very clear that children were not welcome in his store, and we ended up telling him we would leave which he then told us to do. I have worked in retail for many years and I've never seen such a rude proprietor. It was an atrocious way to treat customers, and he should be ashamed of himself. I would never ever give this store a dime of my money. read more

Generally speaking, there is a broad variety of antiques ranging from the 19th century to the mid-twentieth century. Most objects aren't outlandishly priced and I've been happy with my purchases. We have our 20 year old son with us and he is beginning to enjoy and appreciate these type of shops after being brought to them by us over his lifetime. After finding two items that we like my husband and I tried to get a sales person to help us. Twice we were told someone would be right with us....finally my husband got someone to help us. We showed him one of the pieces we were interested in ... he gave us a price and walk away. Another sales person was ringing up a customer at the counter. The person who was helping us went over and started wrapping the jewelry this customer was buying. So the customer buying the jewelry has two sales people and we are still waiting. Finally we decide it's not worth the wait. As we were leaving we told the clerk we would look somewhere else since he didn't seem to want to help us. His response....we weren't the only people in the world. Maybe a lesson in Customer Service is needed. Won't be going back again and will not be recommending to anyone. read more
