Pickers Paradise is definitely my kind of Eden. I stopped in during a recent trip through Central…read moreFlorida, and from the moment I saw the metal exterior covered in vintage road signs, I knew I was in for both a walk down memory lane and a serious treasure hunt. This massive antique mall spans over 18,000 square feet and features around 140 vendor booths filled with gently used items, antiques, and vintage finds. The space is spread across multiple rooms, with vendors offering everything from toys and furniture to home goods, collectibles, tools, and art. No matter what you're into, there's something here to catch your eye. I especially loved the mix of old and new--everything from the contemporary Temptations cookware I love to the vintage Pyrex I adore. One booth even had an incredible wall of Loungefly bags. Being in Central Florida, there's also a great selection of Disney-themed items sprinkled throughout. Be sure to follow the arrows on the floor so you don't miss the hidden upstairs area--it's easy to overlook and totally worth checking out. You could easily spend hours browsing here. If you need a break, there's a Touch of Philly cheesesteak food truck on-site, plus a snack counter inside offering chips and popcorn. The friendly staff really enhances the experience with their helpful service and welcoming vibe. Prices vary by vendor--some items were higher than I expected, while others were absolute steals. Keep an eye out for sales, as they're scattered throughout the booths. All in all, Pickers Paradise is a fun and rewarding stop for anyone looking to rediscover a little nostalgia or score a unique find.

I could spend hours in here and and still find something I didn't see earlier. They have a great selection from vintage toys, home decor, Pokemon cards to homemade jams. The prices were fair unlike other antique stores I've been to before. Staff was not only hilarious but most helpful. If you like hunting for vintage items then this is your place. If you're near the Orlando area...I highly recommend making a drive here!

This is a really wonderful store I discovered on Main Street during the Bartow Bloomin Arts…read moreFestival. It is located right across the street from the historic courthouse that has been turned into a history museum. The Krazy Kricket was started by Lee Putnam and Susan Blenk who had a love of decorating and repurposing furniture. They started out selling items in a tent before graduating to a space in an antique store. In 2014 they were finally able to open their own store in the spot formerly occupied by the Appleseeds gift store. According to their website they carry mostly new gifts, a sprinkling of antiques, Ce-Ce Caldwell's  Natural Chalk + clay paint, Spartina, Mud Pie, Haute Baby and a variety of other brands." As soon as I walked into the store I could instantly see it was full of all of the things I love starting with the gorgeous flamingo chair. They had the line of Spartina Florida purses and totes that I adore. They had many beautiful home decor items, candles, funky jewelry, colorful scarfs, clothing, and cool bags. In the back of the store they have machinery that can custom embroider anything you want. You could literally pick up anything in this store and it would make the perfect gift for me. It's a good thing I don't live in Bartow because this store would be seriously damaging to my bank account. If you like girly things and you are in the downtown Bartow area you will definitely want to visit the Krazy Kricket.

Thankfully it was close by, we didn't have to go all the way into Tampa to find a great tea experience. Affordable too!! The settings are all fine china from England. You get 2 teas. An English breakfast black tea and a caffeine free herbal tea. Sugar and honey to complement. You do get a few courses as well. Soup and scone to start off. Then a tower of sweets and savory sandwiches. The cucumber sandwich was so good. I LOVED the soup and scones. Everything is homemade, amazing! The service was so friendly and nice. Our server poured our teas and explained everything we were getting. It was very relaxed and no rush. It was a great experience and we definitely left full! I would love to come back here again soon. Only note of improvement I think the outside could be cleaned up some. Thank you!

As a former corporate pastry chef for Hyatt Hotels for almost22 years and the owner of my own…read morefamily bakery and restaurant for 17 years, I know how hard this business is, and I rarely leave negative reviews. The disappointment began before we even walked through the front door. The entire entrance looked more like a junkyard than a tea room: oversized plastic chess pieces, random wood on the wall where a sign had been removed, dark staining that looked neglected, broken flower pots, old rusted garden furniture. My wife and I almost turned around. Had we been paying that day, we likely would have left. But we had a gift certificate, so we gave it a chance. What concerned me even more was the safety. The steps were in poor condition, and the handrail was extremely loose, moving several inches side to side. As someone with a disability, that felt unsafe. Accessibility should be basic. Inside, the owner and our server were kind and welcoming, and I genuinely appreciated that. But both teapots had been placed on the table before we were seated, and my tea was already cold. I had to ask for hot water just to have a proper cup, which I wouldn't expect from an afternoon tea. The biggest disappointment was the food. At forty five dollars per person, ninety for two, I expected quality and attention to detail. Instead, the sandwiches and pastries were among the poorest I've ever been served. I could only manage a couple of small sandwiches and one dessert before giving up. What surprised me most after our visit was reading the five-star reviews. Based on our experience, it is difficult for me to understand how this place earns that level of praise. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism. The staff was kind, but kindness can't overcome serious maintenance and quality issues. Sadly, I can't recommend it in its current state Update Thank you for responding We were celebrating my wife and I our retirement and chose not to create an awkward moment. Many people reflect afterwards. Our review reflects our honest experience."
