I loved this store! There are so many antiques you can fill your home with! From old watches (you know, the kind of gold elastic ones with the small faces?) to jars of buttons to silent butlers to LPs, etc. Tons of household items that will give your home more character and an old-timey flair! They also play music to fit the antique atmosphere. They played a Ron Stewart track when I was there and it was wonderful! I felt transported to another time. They also have a second floor that's for larger furniture. I couldn't stay up there for long because my paranoia got the best of me with creepy horror movie feels (re: old cradles, stuffy, scratched up walls, etc.), but it was pretty neat! The prices aren't very cheap, but I would've paid the price for a few items to remember the past (not that I'm even that old ... But who doesn't love antiques?!). Also, yelp has the closing time posted as 5PM, but the store was still open at around 6 and when we asked the owner what time they'll be closing, he said, "hmm I think around 6:30." So I think they might stay open later depending on customer flow. Happy shopping!

I am always in search of new sources for kitsch and historically significant artifacts, and Antiques on Salem has these o' plenty. More than just the usual "antique shop" offerings, the selection and variety offers much for those with an eye for such things. Antique mirrors, signage, milk glass, teacups, furnishings, and artwork. Don't forget to check out the upstairs section, it isn't clearly marked. The prices are quite reasonable, also.

Could have been a good store but unfortunately my wheelchair didn't fit through the door, not handicap accessible at all.

All I can say is "wow". I've driven by Streets of London for months, always meaning to stop in…read more This place is amazing if you're in the market for antiques from Europe (or from early America) circa 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. I've been searching for some smaller pieces for my downsized abode and haven't been too enamored of one store, yet. That may change now that I've seen what Streets of London has available. SLA carries some beautiful Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, and early American furniture, some with the most exquisite carvings. They truly are works of art. There was a mirrored Victorian organ, a French mirrored armoire, and a 1940s era silk embroidered sofa, that I could not stop staring at. And for the sofa, I know I'd be sitting on the floor in front of it, admiring the detailing; probably defeating the purpose of having something that nice. There isn't just furniture here, either. For whatever period, there's art, lithographs, bed frames -- brass and wood, glass punch bowls, silver tureens, china, and tea services. One silver tea service was the type with the pot on a hinged device where it could be tipped for pouring without having to be picked up. That was the first time I've seen one of those up close. Although I was completely stunned at how many gorgeous pieces I saw, most of them were far too big for my available space. That's where the owner, Gill, came to my rescue. She told me the smaller pieces were always the first to be sold, but she was expecting another shipment later this year. As she's trying to sell down her inventory in advance of the new shipment, she tempted me sorely by telling me she may be willing to deal on some of the existing inventory. I now have a reason to go back besides just for a visual treat in the genre of wood. Until then, if there's any way I can make that organ or sofa fit . . . where did I put that measuring tape and yardstick. . . .
