I wasn't too impressed with the Raleigh Flea Market. I've heard wonderful things about it but maybe I just went on a so-so day. Right off the bat, I noticed how much laundry detergent is here! Just...so many booths filled with laundry detergent. I was on the lookout for gems and minerals, and animal bones/skulls. Unfortunately, there were no skulls left (guess I'm not the only one looking)! And the gems/minerals were ridiculously overpriced. I did find a booth with amazing hot sauce so that was a win. Also, if you go inside the building, there are more shops but with higher end items. There is also a shop with delicious meat jerkies and the staff are wonderful there. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the entirety of the flea market but there are a few hidden gem booths there. read more

This review would have been very different if it weren't for one cranky vendor that felt the need to loudly mock us for wearing masks. So, just a heads up... if you plan on entering the building with a mask, this vendor is incredibly offended by that and will be sure to let you and everyone around you know just how angry he is. The inside of the flea market building was HUGE with great shopping options. You have to try the baked good area. Their cinnamon roll was insane good! and as big as your face. Ooey and Gooey the way it should be and only like $5 bucks. You can also buy good fudge there as well. They had a Banana Pudding flavor fudge for all the southerners lol! Outside was ok, mostly used items, not very exciting. I need to spend more time there on next visit for sure. read more

If you're into flea markets, then this is definitely one to check out. It's a lot larger than I anticipated and has a large outdoor area as well as an large indoor building as well. There's a good amount of people all searching for treasure amidst the knick-knacks. Who knows? You may find yourself something pretty special at a bargain deal. It's also worth nothing that they have some produce and edible goodies here as well. Parking isn't too bad, but it can take a bit of time trying to find a spot. There are atms there as well as some booths only accept cash only so keep that in mind as well. If anything, it's interesting to check out even if only for the people watching. read more

Not like it use to be honestly. Barely any vendors have been out there recently, the indoor vendors are nice but nothing really new. I like the baked goodies that are inside the building. The vendors inside are always friendly. The building is pet friendly. I miss how the market use to be and I'm not sure if this is an after covid thing and they are working on getting more vendors back or if this is the new norm. read more

This is the first time that I went to this location. This place was pretty interesting and had a lot of available parking. The shops inside of the main building were pretty nice and had some variety of selection. However, some of the set ups outside were more like yard sale items... which maybe is what is the expectation. We did find a few cool things inside so I will go back and look around again. I did like the set up and enjoyed walking around and looking at various items. read more

Yes you can find awesome stuff here. Yes some stuff is like what the heck (like the tons of old sun bleached candy). But I've always liked flea markets for their uniqueness, and the sellers are cool. It's really awesome how there's so many booths, different types of mini businesses and people out supporting small businesses. I've purchased fresh apple juice, fresh fruit/veggies, boiled peanuts , baked goods, eggs, and they also have really great eclectic/antique trinkets. Cute small flea market with an assortment of goods....We went in March and there was not a lot of vintage/ old stuff at that time but it was fine. Lots of cute shops- like a fun coffee shop with a cat theme and funny t shirts. There was fun cheap art prints and reproduction signs and some food stands. Good place to kill a few hours if you like looking at stuff. Average place if you expect a awesome old item or a great bargain on a weird piece. read more

If you are in the area it is worth a stop. The flea market is decent sized with both outdoor and indoor vendors. I was disappointed with the outdoor vendors since most were not selling quality older items. It was like a 2am shopping network spending spree full of knock off items, like sunglasses, jewelry, and the Ginsu knife. Indoors had better quality items. I am sure it is a product of the economy but everyone is trying to bleed money out of you for items that are not the quality for the price asking. The vendors were friendly for the most part and if you are hungry there are plenty of good options. I will visit one more time before making my final decision about skipping this flea market. read more

I used to give this place a solid 4.5/5 stars, but it has steadily gone downhill over the years. It changed management and now the inconsistent vendors and late opening (what flea doesn't start until 9a?) has pretty much ruined it. Many of the best vendors no longer vend. There's so much new crap and crafts on what used to be considered the "antiques" side, that what used to take hours for me to walk and shop, now takes as little as 15-20 minutes sometimes. This is a very large flea market at the fairgrounds. Take your car, you will need it to get around, as it is very spread out. My dad and I spent 3 hours there looking around and purchasing many items for his business. All vendors bartered as expected, and we found great deals on old military medical kits. I watch a lot of Flea Market Flip on HGTV so I love walking around pretending that I am on the show. You are probably thinking she must be handy? Nope, but I would like to try a project soon. I was expecting a lot more vendors with collectibles. It was just ok for me. Too much new and imports. I will see if there are better to iMessage to come where there is maybe a focus on antiques. We did meet a couple venddors that I would shop for rom again. Just not worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from Charlotte if you don't have it there things to do in town. read more

I love walking through the Raleigh Flea Market on a Saturday afternoon. There is an inside air conditioned area as well as TONS of vendors outside. You never really know what you're going to find either so it's good to have an open mind and not feel overwhelmed by all the STUFF everywhere. I've never come to the market with something particular in mind, but I always seem to find "something I didn't know I needed." Whether you're looking for a piece of furniture, jewelry, vintage toys and books, second-hand clothes or first hand socks, a piece of metal or some drift wood for your pet snake; I'm not sure if there's anything this flea market doesn't have! They even have homemade baked goods, fresh produce and beauty products (the most wonderful soap I've ever smelled!) PLUS, the vendors seem to always be changing. Don't get me wrong, there are a LOT of regular vendors that you'll always see, but they seem to be constantly adding more vendors or interchanging them. Of course, the vendors do pay for their spaces each week, and some go out of town, to other shows, etc. so it's always new and exciting. I recommend parking off Hillsborough Street in the dirt parking lots next to the train-tracks. Then, just enjoy yourself. I've also found that the outside vendors seem to have a little lower prices but it's a flea market, so negotiate prices! This is a great place for locals and visitors alike, you won't be disappointed! read more

I was here twice in June 2013 while in Raleigh on business. This flea market is big, but not huge. It is not the size of the whole State Fair, it takes up less than 1/4 of the fairground area. It is worth going if you like flea markets. It seems to be split up into several sections; 1) The first outdoor section, which has antique sellers under the trees, towards the eastern part of the lot 2) The indoor section, which is all booths but which has more established sellers/stores than you'll find outside 3) A strip of makeshift 'stores' which appear to be permanently placed (there's a framing store, a guy who sells military surplus clothing, etc). 4) The 'yard sale section' on the south side, which has less shade and more miscellaneous stuff from what appears to be more of an itinerant group of sellers. There is a handy pair of ATMs in a little kiosk just west of the 'yardsale' part. On hot days, it's going to be a little tough in the unshaded areas, so bring a hat at least (and remember the sunblock). When I went, parking was not an issue. I found a spot and walked to the flea market (and then to some other interesting events). However, the management of the fairgrounds needs to invest in MUCH BETTER SIGNAGE. I am not kidding; when I was there I; 1) Helped a family with an infant find the Maker Faire (they were at the entrance to the gun show looking very confused). 2) Helped a guy find the gun show 3) An older couple asked me where the 'stock car building class' was (I had no idea) 4) A woman with a heavy accent asked me where the 'refugee conference' was (I also had no idea) I guess this is more a criticism of the grounds and not the flea market itself, but be forewarned, if you have never been there before...the flea market is simple to find, since it is mostly outdoors and you can see it, but other functions are difficult to locate. Clearly they have multiple events here over the weekend and they really have to have some signs to help people find where they are going. read more

With all the great reviews, I had very high expectations for the Raleigh Flea Market. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed. I really enjoy flea markets and antique stores, so I have a lot of reference points for comparison and it's possible that is why my review differs from others. One of the big factors for my lower rating is related to the many, many vendors that had re-sale items. I would say that the Raleigh Flea Market has at least 60% of its vendors with these types of products. This is always super sketchy to me for a variety of reasons related to how the products were sourced. I'll purchase my laundry detergent from a brick-and-mortar store, thanks. I also took issue with many of the vendors not having products clearly labeled with prices. I get the haggling aspect that is involved with flea markets, but some sort of baseline price point is helpful. This was less of an issue with the indoor vendors in comparison to the outdoor vendors. read more

L.O.V.E. the Raleigh Flea Market! There are city blocks worth of stuff to see at this very extensive and unique indoor-outdoor market. From antiques to crafts to music... jewelry, books and just plain junk, there is something for everyone. I have to admit that the serious antique dealers generally ask full price for their wares, but don't let that detract from the gems that can be found. We love to wander and soak it all in. I've purchased some gorgeous iron metalwork, books for bottom dollar, tin signs, decorative flags, tiki masks, socks, fresh fruit and had my wedding ring cleaned! Best flea market around, a little something for everyone. There's actually 3 segments... the indoor stalls, the outdoor flea market, and the outdoor garage sale. The indoor stalls have everything from architecture salvage to hand made cheese spreads to new kitchen appliances. The flea market is basically a high priced garage sale - people trying to make money. Be ready to pay-up if something catches your eye. The garage sale segment is different every time. It's where people are truly trying to get hid of stuff (in a good way, it's not all old baby junk). 50/50 mix of household goods and garage goods. This is where the bargains can be had. read more

Aah yes - the flea market. I've been going to flea markets since I was flea high to a market, and this one ain't bad. Of course, it goes without saying that flea markets are elaborate places where vendors try to extract too much money for junk, and people try to buy junk for too little money - and somehow we make it all work out in the end. Ironically, I find my better deals at the merchants who are inside. The outside merchants are worth visiting, though, as I've found a few real gems including a beautiful 19th century Welsh mantle clock for about $20 (which netted me over $200 on eBay a week later). Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Flea markets in general should have a big "abandon hope all ye who enter here" sign at the entrance, but I consistently enjoy coming to this flea market and always look forward to finding something I wasn't really expecting. Yesterday 1/27/2020 I stopped the State Fair Ground Police and ask them why they did not ticket all the cars parked in Disability Parking spots that did not display a placard? They said they could not. What kind of Law Enforcement is this? NC Law: It is also unlawful to block or obstruct a curb ramp or curb cut for people with disabilities, as provided under the North Carolina Building Code. Loved the Raleigh Flea Market!! Tons of vendors indoors and outdoors. I can't believe I hadn't heard about this place before. We went later in the day to avoid some of the early crowd - looks like this place gets packed and I don't do real well in crowds. We are moving soon and found some great deals for the house and the vendors we dealt with were very friendly and willing to hold our items until we were leaving. I didn't even get to see everything, so I can't wait to go back. Only open on Saturday and Sunday and pets are certainly welcomed outside, lots of people had their dogs. read more

It's a good thing I only had a total of $4 on me (and I refuse to use an ATM with a ridiculous surcharge, though some vendors do take credit) when I wandered the Raleigh Flea Market last weekend. There's a great selection of antique/vintage things (I fell in love with some jadeite salt and pepper shakers) mixed with original art, and then of course there's the mandatory crap available, too. There's a guy that plays the guitar and sings songs (written by him and actually quite good), and the dog-watching is spectacular. read more

I agree with William J that as flea markets go, this one isn't especially large, but it is quite diverse. Most of it is outdoors, and some vendors are inside a couple of buildings. You can find Star Wars toys, DVDs, shoes, sunglasses, jewelry, clothes, antiques, leather goods, fudge, watches, Amish cheese, garden flags, furniture, rugs...you get the idea. There is also a vendor with an AWESOME selection of kitchen wares. Anytime I want something, I try to think of shopping the flea market first to score a deal and stay away from higher prices elsewhere. Another thing I love about the flea market is that leashed dogs are welcome. TIPS: ...Parking is usually an annoyance. ...The flea market closes down for the month of October each year for the NC State Fair. read more

The Raleigh Flea Market has a great variety of new, used, and repurposed goods. If you're looking to outfit your home with some unique items, this is a fun weekend day outing. Some of my personal favorite finds on my latest trip: various sizes of driftwood, large ceramic pots for plants for under $20, wrought iron hooks, hammocks and Adirondack chairs. There is an indoor shopping area, as well, though this area can get especially crowded as people come in to cool off on warmer days. There are quite a few food and drink vendors from typical fair food to BBQ. My only complaints are the parking (the lots are haphazardly organized so there isn't always a clear direction that traffic is moving) and the lack of seating (they could really use more benches and picnic tables). read more
