Very loud music and a dog was brought in . If the music is too loud for me , imagine what it does to a dog that hear 7 times better than us.

Food: 4/5 No food really offered other than the standard menu which was not available at the time of my experience. The drinks were okay and there is a full bar. Service: 3/5 Friendly bartender. Ambiance: 5/5 There is a pool table you are able to use with a few quarters which was nice. The decor is unique and everyone there (other guests) were really friendly. It seems there is a lack of reviews or recommendations for this tavern, possibly due to lack of food, but I enjoyed the cozy feeling.

One of my local rotational bars when I feel like getting out. Despite what you think/heard about this place, it's not that bad. Folks are friendly and mind their own business. Prices on drinks are reasonable compared other bars nowadays. I like simple drinks, a good IPA on tap with a shot to sip on. There's a pool table and also live music on some nights (not sure of their schedule). They also serve food especially the prime rib on Thursdays, which I did try one time. Price is very good for a full plate.

Didn't know they had food. Bartender was good but seemed a bit on the unfriendly side. Good music!!

Stopped in here twice after work this week, and both times had great service from bartenders Bonnie and Romina. Really friendly regulars sitting at the bar kept me engaged in good conversation and laughter; perfect for the end of a Friday and Saturday work day! They have a great set up inside with spacious bar seating, a few scattered tables, and lots of open space for hanging out too. A handful of tap beers, and fast service with good prices. Super cool that I stumbled in here and even though I'm rarely out in Pinole, I totally like this place and I look forward to coming back to play pool and listen to live music.

The drink was watered down but good. Our drink was served quickly. Friday night wasn't that full of people but they had a dj.

    Delish!!!! Thursday steak special $13

First time here with friends for a drink and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a NY steak dinner special on Thursdays. NY steak dinner with all the fixings?!?!? $13?!?!? Count me in!!! Asked for medium rare, and received my steak perfectly cooked and seasoned well (no steak sauce needed). The steak was flanked by a fluffy baked potato w/ butter&sourcream , toasted bread, veggies and corn on the cob. My meal was paired perfectly with a Vodka soda. Definitely will be back and you know it will be a THURSDAY.

Been open since 1890. It's very Pinole. Check it out. Take an Uber or a Lyft home. You'll probably get wasted. Bring some friends. Relax. Check out the old tyme ceilings in this place and wonder about what it used to be like over 100 years ago when it first opened. Welcome to Pinole.

I ate half of the blta and took rest home- fresh, crispy and balanced. Fried chicken sandwich was delicious with the pickles and slaw and the bun was yummy. The chicken was generous in proportion and overflowed off the bun. Now- the winner of the meal- blueberry cheesecake. That crust, topped with deliciousness and fresh blueberries. Women's restroom was super clean- which you know is a great sign of the kitchen. Looking forward to my next visit.

Love seeing this spot so lively! Both visits were for apps and sips, but I did notice they added more dishes and variety to the menu for lunch/dinner options. Friendly service, fun atmosphere, and also different rooms within the space pending what your feeling ~ the bar area for drinks/apps, the restaurant space if wanting to truly sit down and have that type of intimate environment too. The Pear Salad has always been my go-to, and happy it's still on the menu. Chopped lettuce, gorgonzola crumbles, candied walnuts, champagne vinaigrette, and pear slices. I also enjoyed the Cheese Please for sharing, which comes with toast, three different cheeses, dried cranberries, pears, candied walnuts, and olives. Can you sense the pear theme? We were heading to a play at the Pinole Community Playhouse (walkable & across the street), but check out Pear Street's fun happy hours, events, and weekly specials. One of our party members ordered the Rum Punch. It was overly sweet. Another ordered a drink that was not great at all, sent it back.. only to be told that they do not take back drinks, but made an exception that time. However, if the drink is made wrong or disgusting.. there shouod be understanding around that. We ordered the bottomless Mimosas. It seemed like it was difficult to get a grenadine on the side because I had to constantly ask for it. We had to talk to the manager because our waitress was not consistent with the pouring of bottomless. We lost about 30 to 45 mins of time because of it. The manager understood and granted us more time. I also did not like that fact that our finished plate sat on the table way longer than what they should have. Maybe the waiter was overwhelmed or overworked.

I love trying little hole in the wall type restaurants so that I can try something new and different. Nepali cuisine tickles tastebuds and when I saw Wild Boar on the menu, it was over!! I ordered and was really looking forward to trying something new. So... The food gets served and man, talk about depressing. First the portion was tiny for something costing upwards of $17. I'd be generous if there was 12oz. of food on that plate. It was basically "boar", with onions and a flair of cilantro(?). Trying to keep an open mind I pop the first piece of meat in my mouth and good grief!! Tough as nails, impossible to chew, basically hard dry jerky, Also zero sides, no salad or vegetables, just boot leather (color and texture) meat. Did I mention it was cold? Not heat lamp luke warm, just sat on the counter for 10mins cold. So... I swapped it for a hamburger. This was a standard Costco sirloin patty, std. bun, lettuce, tomato, onion. Pepper jack cheese was the upgrade, thankfully, this was served hot. Now I hate to bring up hygiene but at one point the cook walked past us and his BO followed close BEHIND and left an impression... C'mon man, it's a damn restaurant!!! C'MON MAN!!! Now... I just don't get it... In this era of cooking shows, competitions, books, podcasts and celebrities. This world where Gordon Ramsey is EVERYWHERE, how, how, HOW can you not put in some effort!! How can the Owner / Manager allow this?? It was a Friday night, the bar had about nine people at it while the restaurant had the two of us and one other diner. On a Friday night!!!! How do you even stay in business?? Listen, I hope ownership takes note and immediately does something to up their food game. I want them to succeed but if this is the best they can do... Just shut it down. Sad diner, signing off.
