I always really liked coming here. It was as a suggestion from a friend. My husband and I really enjoyed playing pool. I came here one day on Sunday. Didn't have hubby, was hit on by someone that I was having a good conversation with. But it took a down turn quickly. , Threw my drink in his face. Bartender accused ME of being to rowdy. Wouldn't serve me. This is seriously not a good place for women. I feel like I want to scream. And I am pushed aside. I would never recommend this place. And I'm scarred. read more

Not bad, but not great. A lot of white-hairs slurping down their well whiskey at 7 am. Gruff, ruff, and blue-collar. Lots of monosyllabic slurring from the clientele. Never had an issue with the barkeep. It's a bit "Wt Trsh" if you catch my drift. All good, though. There's divy-er spots in El Sobrante/Rodeo/Crockett/Pinole/San Pablo, believe it or not. One of my local rotational bars when I feel like getting out. Despite what you think/heard about this place, it's not that bad. Folks are friendly and mind their own business. Prices on drinks are reasonable compared other bars nowadays. I like simple drinks, a good IPA on tap with a shot to sip on. There's a pool table and also live music on some nights (not sure of their schedule). They also serve food especially the prime rib on Thursdays, which I did try one time. Stopped in here twice after work this week, and both times had great service from bartenders Bonnie and Romina. Really friendly regulars sitting at the bar kept me engaged in good conversation and laughter; perfect for the end of a Friday and Saturday work day! They have a great set up inside with spacious bar seating, a few scattered tables, and lots of open space for hanging out too. A handful of tap beers, and fast service with good prices. Super cool that I stumbled in here and even though I'm rarely out in Pinole, I totally like this place and I look forward to coming back to play pool and listen to live music. read more

First time here with friends for a drink and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a NY steak dinner special on Thursdays. NY steak dinner with all the fixings?!?!? $13?!?!? Count me in!!! Asked for medium rare, and received my steak perfectly cooked and seasoned well (no steak sauce needed). The steak was flanked by a fluffy baked potato w/ butter&sourcream , toasted bread, veggies and corn on the cob. My meal was paired perfectly with a Vodka soda. Haven't been to this bar in years and its smells like urine inside the whole place. The smell hits you once you walk into antlers and yes the bartender was Rude and sucked. Ordered one drink that was disappointing watered down drink and left couldn't stand the smell of urine didn't matter where we moved the smell was everywhere. My wife and I had their Prime Rib and sadly it was disappointing. The presentation was unappetizing. The meat looked like it was boiled and the side of vegetables looked and tasted like some old canned good. Our meat was rubbery and cold. There was no favor and the waitress got upset with us when we asked for salt and pepper and for A1 and ketchup. She later came back and gave us a couple of Taco Bell sauce packets. WTF!!!! She didn't give us any salt and pepper because she said they don't have any. We heard some good reviews but sadly our experience wasn't that. The photo someone posted on their steak looked great but ours didn't looked like that. We looked at other people orders and it looked just like ours. I've been coming to Antlers for 10 years now and am just getting around to write this review. Antler's is a real blast from the past and one of the few truly authentic neighborhood bars left in the Bay Area. The bar itself dates back to the 1890s and to a Pinolean, who has typically lived in Pinole most of their lives and who are very proud of their rich Native American, Spanish and settler history, Antlers is at the center of their community. The folks that frequent Antlers are salt of the earth, working class regular folk that like to go and shoot the breeze with Dave, the bartender/ owner and maybe run into an old friend or two. On a typical night at the bar you might meet a rancher from Briones, a rigging technician who works at The Warfield in SF or an elderly gentleman who recently lost his wife of 50 years and hadnt gotten out of the house in several months. There are alot of young 20 something women, from the area, showing up lately mixing it up with the regulars and enjoying the great lineup of live music put together by Dave, a few times a week. Julia's Waffles is now serving at Antlers 8AM-12PM! Julia's Waffles are by far the best waffles i've eaten in a while, they have different variety for everyone's liking: Sweet and Savory. My personal favorite if you're doing sweet is Masons Cookies which has oreo bits inside the waffles. If you're going savory I would go big with the Heart Attack which has Chicken, Bacon, AND cheese inside the waffle. read more

We have seen their sign in the window for years - prime rib $13 Friday, New York steak $10 Thursday...Finally felt we had to check it out. They only serve this one menu option on the day advertised and it starts at 6pm. There is no one to seat you. It's the local pub. Find a table and sit down. The lady whom I believe may be the owner comes and ask you how you want your steak if it's Thursday. The serving size is good and it comes with veg and baked potato with sour cream and butter. No frills dinner and the place is a little dark so it's difficult to see your food if you pick a table in the back. The second time we went, we sat at a table by the window. But hey, for the price, if you are lazy to cook and are on a budget, you should check it out. read more

Who wouldn't be tempted with a steak dinner for cheap? After moving in nearby, we wanted to try whatever is around us to have new favorite places to go to. Food is good, but the place is a little bit too loud for me. I know it's a bar and there's a lot of people while we were there. It can be tolerated. We haven't tried their breakfast, so we have to go again to find out. Staff is definitely friendly. Sometimes a place grows on you, and this is one of them. Give it a shot. read more

I noticed all different colors of people in attendance the one night I visited this place. I am thinking about visiting right now. $5 tacos were great and alot of food. The live music by a 40 something male with long hair and a hat was better than expected. There is wi-fi, card games, and lots of space here. The bartender had a poker face but he was a quick draw on the drinks. Most bars are becoming corporation-owned. Enjoy this gem while you can.
