I grew up with my grandma owning two Mexican restaurants, so I am not easily impressed. This is good, really good home cooking Mexican style. My chilaquiles verdes con pollo was perfectly executed. There are few restaurants in the IV that I think deserve 5 stars, but this definitely does. Waitstaff were friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Everything was clean and bright. I had green chicken enchiladas which I thought were really good. Everything tastes authentic along with the chips and salsa. Came here for the chilaquiles. I've had them here before and they were always very good! This time they weren't as spicy even tho we asked for extra spicy. And they came out a bit cold. I came here during lunch time a few weeks ago with some coworkers. We are not from the area and we're looking for a good place to eat and noticed this place had a good amount of stars. They don't have a wide selection but the food they do have tastes great! I ordered the enchiladas and they were some of the best I ever had! I don't remember what my coworkers ordered but they all enjoyed their food as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is very chill and laid back. The service is not incredibly fast, but is fairly well as they cleaned our table before we sat down and took our orders within a few minutes. You also pay at the register after you eat. read more

Overall the food had good flavor. The reason for my 1 star is because of the dishonesty of this establishment. I ordered an order of Chilaquiles for dine in and later I decided to order a large order of Pozole to go. The lady took my order and left. When I asked for the bill, the waiter told me the total and did not give me a check for my order. I handed him my card not sure what he was charging me for (my mistake). Later he came back and told me I would receive a receipt via email, which I did. The price seemed a few dollars different from what the menu said but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. Later a different waitress came to tell me that they had ran out of pozole. I told her that the other lady who took the order said there was still pozole. When I arrived home I checked my pozole and it had no meat but only a small chunk of meat. Obviously they had ran out but decided to still sell an order of pozole for $15 with only hominy. I just think that if they ran out of pozole they should have just told me not sell me something they don't have. Also, if their prices have changed, that's fine just update your menu. FYI check the prices and your orders! Wish I could post a video because I took one. read more

Thank you Yelpers for the recommendations. This is one of the best Mexican foods we've had for a long time. Too bad we live in OC. I has a corn squash quesadilla and a poblano corn quesadilla. They were delicious. My husband ordered the green chicken enchiladas, my girls ordered crunchy beef tacos and a chicken quesadilla. They're all delicious. I love the grilled green onions and their salsas were also so tasty. I guess we've to drive to Tucson more often from now on so we can swing by for more delicious foods. read more

Finger licking good! When I'm in town....it's definitely the place to go. I've had the chilaquiles over and over again. They also prepare a "mystery" meal which is not on the menu. It's pretty cool. They pretty much freestyle it..haha. It looked delicious! The juices are good too! The service is ok. I feel like the waiter seems overwhelmed the majority of the time. They don't really check in on you. They serve you and you're on your own after that until you have to pay the bill. The food is a five....and in El Centro 5 stars are HARD to find. read more

I came here on the Yelp recommendation of 5 stars and I have to say was the first time I came out disappointed. In the words of the wise Yelpman NOM NOM NOM....potato tlacoyos (corn masa stuffed with mashed potato), lamb mixiote (birria, lamb stew), freshly made piping hot corn tortillas were all fabulous. Lamb stew was flavorful and plenty for 2 hungry bears, its a must try if you're a fan of lamb. Aguas frescas were delicious with the strawberry being the clear winner, although the lime one was great...definitely not from concentrate. Stopped in for takeout on our way back to Los Ángeles. Ordered over the phone and was told food would be ready in 15min. When we arrived food was ready as promised. I ordered red enchiladas de pollo no rice available but was offered an extra enchilada and a side of beans (olla con carne) . I also got a plate of 5 corn rolled tacos/taquitos. First time to Antojito Como En Casa and it was not disappointed. They bring chips to your table with two bowls of salsa. The chips we good and tasted freshly made, but I was able to see them taking the chips out of a plastic back and place them in a warmer. I also wish our waitress warned us of how hot each of them were(mainly the red one) because I was taken completely by surprised. I ordered the Chilaquiles and it was delicious! The chips were topped with avocado, green/red onions and covered in sour cream all while still having a nice crunch to them. The rice was pretty ughhh! I didn't eat it. My favorite item was my drink. I ordered an agua fresca of orange and pineapple. Now that was delicious!! That made my experience much more tolerable.
