Visited June 13 2026. See my receipt as always. Many friends told me to try this place in Yuba City and I am glad I did! It's away from most businesses in an upscale residential street. They open at 11am and there was people already waiting to get in. Always a good sign! I ordered the two item lunch and chose beef and chicken enchiladas. It came with rice and beans. All very good! Complimentary chips and salsa. The salsas were screaming! Fresh and the green salsa made my eyes water! Love it! This place has indoor and covered outside seating. Dog friendly! They also have another space in the back for events and more with another full bar ( 2 full bars total). They have bar seating and regular seating. Good for groups! Plenty of parking. What was unusual is they have an expansive bathroom..did not expect that. The waiter said they have live music as well! Overall a great experience with leftovers! Ps. Plenty of parking! read more

Vicky rating: this place gets a triple yum for their food. It was flavorful, authentic and not small portions. For the customer service... yum x 10!!!!!! It wasn't a quiet night and we had multiple people check on us. These folks can train others in customer service. Found ourselves here on a Thursday evening around 6:30. Another to go of our favorite- supreme nachos with carnitas. The hostess was very friendly and took our order. It took about 15 minutes to get it. At home opened the container and were happily surprised. It has been very consistent with all our to go orders. Meat was good-no fat!! Had lunch today and it was outstanding! I had the special of the day, Carnitas & Enchilada. The carnitas were wonderful. Served with onion and bell pepper like fajitas, they were delicious. The cheese and onion enchilada was very good too. It was served with beans, rice, sour cream, pico and tortillas. I will definitely order again. My partner ordered the pollo con arroz. It was a huge amount of food and he said it was delicious. The service was great and the server was attentive. Definitely a wonderful and memorable lunch. read more

The server was fast and kind and the beer was the highlight of my meal - ice cold, but the food there (2nd time I tried it) just isn't good. There are several other spots I prefer but I really wish the food was better since the beer was excellent! read more

Finally got a chance to go to dinner at Carlitos. In-laws haven been going for a while n always rave about the lamb shank dinner. The dinner was delicious; meat very tender n large portions. The jalapeño margarita was huge n not too spicy. Friend had the chili relleno n she said it was delicious. Love the large portions, friendly staff n delicious food. Will be back. read more

My dad had a craving for Mexican food and we had heard great things about this place. Parking was not an issue but I can see how it can be. If you want to get a good spot, get there earlier than you expect. Entering the establishment, we were greeted with professionals who smiled, welcomed us in, and seated us almost immediately. The service was quick and understanding. I appreciate that it was our first time and our server was patient with us. All of our orders came out hot and ready to eat. My personal favorite was the chips and salsas, specifically the guacamole! The food was not only hot, they are large portions. Be sure to come in with big appetites. The place was tad bit dim but it worked well for those of us who do not feel too great about the hot summer sun beaming down on you. The Mexican decor was beautiful and accents the chairs and design very well. For vegan/plant based eaters: be sure to order the whole beans as the refried beans are cooked in lard. Also, if you are looking for a "meat" option/alternative, they do not have it. Be sure to speak to your server and be clear about your dietary needs. I was very impressed with the service, the food, and the all around experience. We may make our way back here some time soon. read more

The portion size is really good, and staff is really nice. The amount of onions though in my entre' was way too much. I noticed they give an overload of onions as fillers in the main meal a few times now. Other than that things are good. read more

Amazing service and food! I went for lunch recently and ordered the pollo à la diabla and it was AMAZING! Very good portion sizes and when it says "diabla" it's actually spicy which I appreciate! We went around 11:15 on a Wednesday so it was very quiet and the music was a respectable level. I did some work with a colleague and it was definitely a good environment to get it done, not so much when it's dinner time because that is a little more busy. read more

Gave it another try it was worse then the first time. The meat all taste the same no matter what you order. I personally don't like chewy pieces in my meat or tendon. The tortillas they use for burritos are the same for tacos, chimis,tostadas, chulpas. They get super soggy. The place is just not good. read more

We literally stumbled on Carlito's in Yuba City. We don't live there, we were lost and hungry. It was the first eatery we saw, so I pulled in to check out the menu! Lunches are well priced! Cheaper than MacDonald's! $10.99 bought me tender and flavorful Chili Colorado. It was yummy with large portions. Their beans were flavorful. Rice was just the standard Mexican rice but nothing wrong with that. We loved the salsa that came with the thick tortilla chips. (I like them thin.) The place was crowded. We had dogs in the car, but it's January so we took a chance. These people know how to run a popular restaurant! Our meals came out quickly! Hubby ordered the Steak Fajitas and he loved his meal too. His beans and rice came in cute and edible tortilla bowls. I heard from a neighboring booth that they make great bar drinks but it was a little early in the day for us. We had ice water, double lemon. Carlton's is my new favorite Mexican Restaurant in Yuba City. We loved the decor too! Try it. I think you will love the large menu, food, and the fair prices for lunch (11:00 to 3:00). Not sure about weekends. Give them a call to double-check if they have a weekend lunch menu. I don't know why it had some bad reviews. The food is great, especially the Cazuela Mexicana which is a delicious Mexican stew. The service is mostly terrific too - I have never had a bad waiter or waitress, even when we are the only ones sitting on the porch, which is my favorite place to sit there because it is cozy or shady, depending on the weather, and I can bring my dog. read more

Service was on point nothing to improve there slight language barrier but we got through it . Inside of the restaurant was nice smell and looks clean un like alot of restaurants out this way . I haven't been out here this way, up North for a long time. I saw something I liked when I was here, I was thinking better make best use of my time when I'm here. I'm only here for today. I can't be here for too long, I got to get back to work. This evening I was at Carlito's. I like the name, this is my first time at a Carlito's. This feels slightly like modern Mexican cuisine. I didn't expect it to look like this at all when I arrived, it looks Spanish, warm, intimate, and well decorated in here. I had to get the Chile Colorado. This is a Latin American style stew, instead of the Southwestern style soup that a lot of people out there are familiar with and I adore. The Sauce was so deep in flavor, seasoned well, balanced, slightly smokey, and the spices were bold. The Spanish Rice was cooked just right. The Bean purée was so silky smooth. The presentation was on point. I really liked how not once during my Dinner, that I needed to ask for something, they always made sure I got everything that I needed. I'm not even going to lie, this was the whitest most Americanized Mexican food I have ever had. Nothing about it tasted authentic. The carne asada did not taste like carne asada but like tofu if that makes sense? The ambience and staff was nice. Came here with the family to celebrate a birthday. Service was good to start. We were ready to eat so they took our order quickly. They were fast to fill our chips-salsa and drinks. Didn't have to wait long for our order. Food was super hot when it arrived. For Mexican food, the prices were on the high side. This prevented a four star rating. I rarely give out 5 star ratings unless all the boxes are checked. Food was good but we've had better Mexican food so the bar is set high. I would come back for another special occasion. Picked up food from this place as a token of appreciation for my employees in Yuba and it was a great choice! The carne asadas was delicious. Good flavor and seasoning to the meat and it didn't disappoint. The rice and beans were good as well along with the grilled jalapeño pepper that was included. The corn tortillas were on point and overall had a great meal. The service was good as the register as this was a Togo order and Crystal did a good job of getting me everything I needed for the food. On our first visit to the restaurant everything was great so we went back a second time different day and that was a not so great experience with our waitress. She was rude to us. It was seven of us and at the time of ordering the food she started talking Spanish, which it was kind of ok but not ok because we had three people that it was very obvious that they were not Spanish speakers. We placed our orders, she brought the food and didn't bring us utensils until we asked for them. Then when it was getting closer to ask for the check we asked her for separate receipts and that's where she showed her true colors. She slammed an empty chip basket on the empty table next to us and told us why we didn't ask for that at the beginning, that we were making it difficult for her. She left "looking for the manager" and it took her like 15 minutes to come back. She finally brought the receipts and when we gave her the cards to pay, she left and took another 15 minutes to come back. During this time that she was gone she was helping other customers and kept on passing us by, pretty much ignoring us. I recommend the restaurant for the food but avoid that Mexican older lady. read more
