I got 4 street tacos with a bean & cheese burrito. 1 asada, 1 birria, 1 spicy chicken and 1 al pastor. All 4 meats tasted great. You get a lot of meat on each taco. The bean & cheese burrito was really good. All the food is very well priced as well. 1 taco is $2.89 and 1 bean & cheese is $5.59. Super convenient location next to PM in South Yuba City. This business has terrible service. I ordered 4 burritos and specifically asked for each to have cheese as the girl taking my order said none of their burritos come with cheese. I paid the extra money to add cheese to each. I get home and find that none of the burritos had cheese. I called the restaurant to let them know that none of the burritos came as I ordered them and the cook proceeded to argue with me about it saying to come back and she will refund the $1.00 I was charged for cheese! Then told me to drive all the way back to the restaurant so she can check each burrito for cheese. They did not offer a refund or to correct the issue. Wasting my gas to drive across town with a newborn was not an option just for cheese. I won't be ordering from this taqueria in the future because clearly they can't get your order right but you bet they will charge you for it. read more

First time order from here (via Doordash), order was 1 carnitas taco, 1 chorizo taco, and chicken flautas combo with a soda. Pros - the meat was really good in everything. The chorizo had a good spice to it, the chicken and carnitas was tender and flavorful. Cons - tortillas for everything was soft/soggy. The flautas were to the point where they almost couldn't be picked up. They were also covered in a powdered cheese and the sogginess turned it into a weird, wet crust. It didn't taste bad, just odd texture. The beans and rice were also pretty bland. read more

I have been coming here for the last...6-7 years? Maybe longer, not quite sure. With that being said, I've easily put in 100+ orders (especially when I was pregnant) and only ONE order was made incorrectly. I find that to be great service especially since each item/meal I place has a minimum of one modification. I'm a creature of habit so I haven't tried much on the menu but I can say the Stuffed Burrito, Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, and Asada Meaty Fries are my go-to's because they are delicious!! I am no connoisseur on Mexican cuisine, but I can tell you they have a fantastic asada. I usually order a combo meal of two asada flour tacos (fried tortilla, of course), refried beans, and rice. The asada is as savory as expected and the ingredients are fresh. My favorite, aside from the asada, would be the rice. It's the usual Spanish-style rice, but Taqueria Veronica makes it garlic-y. DELISH! The combo meal is a tad pricey, at $7.99, and since I absolutely love the rice, I usually get an extra side order as well (an extra $2.99). The menu is simple and easy and they offer some really cost-effective options, such as the 99 cent taco (which you have your pick of meat, cool right?!). After reading all the positive reviews here on yelp I was pumped to be finally coming here for a little dinner. I have to say I was very disappointed. First and foremost is to provide customer service, and I mean decent customer service. Not just hand the receipt for your food to you and bringing the food to you without so much as a thank you. Maybe that is why I was the only person in this place during the dinner hour of six o'clock I was helped by some teenager, I am assuming she may have been the daughter of the owner, but she was wearing way too much eye liner, mascara, blush and had everyone of her nails painted a different color.. Also, drop the the attitude like your shit don't stink, because it does all the way up to your heavy made up face. So, no thank you making change, not thank you when bringing my food to the table and no thank you as I left. Did I mention I was the only person eating in the restaurant? I could not get out of there fast enough. Oh yeah I almost forgot about the food. They advertise $.99 cent tacos on the front of their store but they don't tell or show you how small they are. Well, you get what you paid for because one can finish off one of their tacos in one single bite and that is no joke. When the teenie bobber asked if I wanted everytihing on it I expected piles of produce and salsa, maybe even some cheese. What I received was two thin slices of radish, a slice of a lime and a couple of slivers of fish in the fish taco because it must have been an anorexic fish. Miss "I am a teenager don't bother me", could have told me they were going to be as tiny as a silver dollar and recommended that I order more than one or suggested something else. The crispy tacos were nothing to write home about either. No taste, some shredded lettuce and a sprinkling of cheese. Another thing was they charge for chips and salsa for dinning in. Every Mexican joint in Yuba-Sutter offers them for free but they charge for it. Is this place a clip joint or a restaurant? Anyway, this is my advice to the owner. Zero stars for horrible, if not the worst, customer service I've had in years. Husband placed order by phone. Picked up 2 burritos. Got home, not the burritos he ordered. Called them. The girl said you got what you ordered. Husband said no, I didn't, can I bring these back. Girl said she has to check and will call back. No call. Husband goes there instead. They refused to replace the burritos because girl said she repeated back the order. Are you kidding me? There were witnesses that heard my husband place his order. But the bottom line is I have never EVER had a restaurant refuse to try and make an order right!! There's far too many Mexican restaurants in this town to choose one that doesnt give a shit about customer service. We will never go back. WORST taqueria ever, WORST customer service EVER!! So long story short I went in last night and order some burritos and tacos and a side of rice and beans..well not only was the cashier rude as fuck (not my fault you hate your job). I asked her if everything was in the bags her reply is "yeah" with an attitude. So I get home and unpack everything to find the bean side was leaking into the cheap ass plastic bag they put it in. I look and half of the beans are on the bottom of the bag. So I continue to look to find they also "forgot" my tacos. I called them NO answer I keeped calling FINALLY after about 10 calls they answer. I explain the situation the girl on the phone is rude as fuck.( same girl who took my order) she says "come in if you want". I drive across town to go. As soon as I walk in I get attitude again then the girl cook asks the cashier if I brought back the beans,she asks me I'm like nope how you want me to bring back the beans half of your beans leaked into the bottom of the bag..then they assume I don't speak English and start taking bad about me in Spanish. The cook told the cashier she would give me beans one time but she doubts they leaked and thinks I just wanted "free beans" I'm listening getting mad thinking I should say something but I just got the runny ass beans and my tacos and Walked out. In the land of little hole in the wall taqueria's.... this amazing new taqueria has fantastic authenic taco truck style mexican food. Home cooked food made by La Abuela and La Madre in back as the children, grand children and cousins serve as cashiers and wait staff. While I was in Yuba City visiting Grandma-ma over the holiday my brother, sister in law, and Mom came across this little newly open taqueria. They ordered a dozen pork tamales for $12.00 and raved about them. My Mom who lived in Mazatlan for a little over 22 years said they were the real deal.... and they are meaty chunks of pork with firm thick masa wrapped in a corn husk. I loved them and was tempted to order a dozen to bring home. One of my favorite things on any good Mexican menu is the Shrimp Coaktail, It took about 25 minutes for them to prepare it but it was worth it, fresh tomato juice, soft succulent shrimp, perfectly seasoned with chunks of avocado, onion, and cilantro in a huge glass. !delicioso! I also had their 99 cent small taco truck tacos loaded with carnitas or carne asada, fresh onions, cilantro, and a flavorful verde salsa. I am a big guacamole fan, their guacamole is chunky style with chunks of avocado, onions, tomatos, jalopenos, and tossed with cilantro, perfectly seasoned. They fry their complimentry chips made to order for dine in and their fresh made salsa is mild with chunks of jalopeno. Their food is so good I ate there 2 days in a row. I also had tried their chicken enchiladas filled with stewed chicken breast and covered in a thick red sauce. I only had a bite of their beans and rice which were good. They are a newly family owned and ran restarunt which needs to work out some of their little service issues, service was a little slow for it being off hours with one other table of customers, I can understand the 25 minute wait for my shrimp cocktail(and the Mom apologized for the long wait and the server did update me on the status of my shrimp cocktail) but then they brought my daughters steaming hot plate 5 minutes later, then another 2 minutes my soft tacos. Their food and prices are worth the wait and I predict that their service will improve over time as this is their first resturant and serving experience. I like how the Mom asked me how I liked my shrimp cocktail and the whole family wear matching uniforms, very nice. read more

Need a quick bite to eat and saw place on Yelp. Well, let me tell you, these folks need a lesson in making tacos. The food took forever to get, I had to ask for extra salsa, and when I got my tacos, they were really greasy and full of salt. I could make better tacos blindfolded. The best part of the meal was the bottle of Coke with cane sugar. No seriously, how this place can call itself a Taqueria is beyond me. They owner and cook need to sit down and work on consistency in their food. Maybe shut the place down a few days, pair down the menu and focus on quality and not quantity. Even the family sitting next to me were taken back by the quality and saltiness of their food. Here's a hint to all you restaurant cooks: Salt does not = Taste! Have to write an update on this place. The tamales I tried the first time we bought uncooked and steamed ourselves for Christmas Eve. They were outstanding. The next time we bought a dozen to take home and eat and they were still cold, some of them were warm (not hot) but mine was actually cold!!! The best shrimp quesadillas in the area, and only $6.89. That's more than $3 cheaper than any other place I've found, and they cram them with prawns. We've been here numerous times, and until recently, I could agree with the rest of the reviewers in regard to the customer service. What an experience I've had with this place... I came in at 12:45 to bring home lunch for my family after finishing up at work. I work right by the restaurant so it was a very convenient location for me. It was pretty quiet when I walked in. 3 tables were occupied and customers were eating their food. An employee was waiting at the counter to take my order. I asked her what came on the California burrito. She said it came with your choice of meat [I chose asada], nacho cheese [i asked for NO nacho cheese], pico de gallo [asked for no pico], fries [i thought she said rice] a choice of sauce[which I wasn't given] and sour cream [which I don't see in my burrito as I stare at it now]. I asked for no pico de gallo and no nacho cheese because I don't eat onions (they give me hiccups, oddly enough) and I find nacho cheese to be pretty unappetizing in burritos. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla, 3 steak tacos and 3 shrimp tacos to bring back to my family. The order was made and in my hands by 1:00. I made my way home which is a good 15 minute drive since I live out by Pease Road. When I bit into my burrito, it wasn't a California burrito. It must have been a breakfast burrito because there was diced ham and bacon in it. I called the restaurant to let them know that my order must have been mixed up with someone else's. The employee told me I could pick up the correct order as it was already made and waiting for me. I mentioned that I live all the way across town and that I would come and get it but that I wasn't interested in eating a burrito that would be sitting soggy and lukewarm. "No you're burrito will be fine, I made it just before you left." I hesitated to agree with her but she was pretty adamant on the fact that it would be fine. So I made the trek back to Bogue road and picked up my burrito. By now it was 1:38, a good 40 minutes after being made. I noticed it was piping hot in my hand and that the foil was pretty greasy. I'm assuming they left the burrito sitting on the grill to keep it hot. I left a bit happier knowing I wouldn't be eating cold food but not sure how the food would be after realizing that it would have been essentially "cooking" on the grill for a long period of time. Turns out that just the tortilla got crispy...that's fine. Driving back, I thought to myself that there would be no possible way that they could screw up the order again...at least I hoped they couldn't. I arrived back home at 1:55 and bit into my burrito and was disappointed once again. The burrito was filled to the brim with nacho cheese and fries. Now I admit I thought the employee said "rice" not "fries" when she explained what was in the burrito. I take responsibility for that mistake. But the nacho cheese that oozed out of the burrito was exactly what I didn't want. We even spoke about how I prefer shredded cheese to nacho cheese when I placed my order! So as it goes, I have two burritos here that I won't be eating and an empty stomach. Do you ever get to that stage of hunger where you just don't want to eat anything at all? That's where I'm at while typing this review. I was hoping the food could make up for the bad experience of giving me the wrong burrito and having to drive back to pick it up. Since its not the right order AGAIN I'm just going to assume that no - the food won't make up for the experience. As for the location itself and the prices...I'm not impressed. The place was just slightly messy with food and trash scattered on and under tables. The condiments were disheveled as well. The tacos are kind of expensive considering that they're very small. The girl that helped me was nice but She was also supposed to be responsible for making sure my order was correct... It's highly unlikely that I'll ever come back to this establishment. Was very pleasantly surprised when I stop by here today. My husband was going to get some food at Power Mart and I am not a fan of the fried everything variety so I popped into Veronicas. The street tacos were great, and reasonably priced. Just the right amount of meat to toppings ratio. Salsa was good, not too mild not too spicy. Carne Asada was flavorful. I also got my husband a fried flour ground beef taco for the road. He loved it. In total for 2 street tacos and 1 fried flour ground beef taco, I spent $6.25!
