Anton's Movers was the best decision I ever made. I originally had a move date of August 1st, but when it got moved up a week, Anton's was available. They brought a 16-foot truck for my 2bed2bath, and managed to fit everything in (a small miracle). I imagine that they play tetris at a pro level when they're not hauling furniture. Not a single thing was broken, scratched, or damaged. They were quick and professional and very friendly-- even when they discovered that I had packed my keys (genius move, I know) they quickly adapted and rolled with the situation to help me get them out asap. R B Cooke did the original move and refused to take the box spring and king size bed frame. They also forgot about the microwave. I hired Anton's Movers to correct this odd refusal and oversight. They were able to do it the same day as I called them. They worked quickly and charged me $180.00 for moving these two essential items. They were polite and friendly without allowing it to interfere with their work. They worked on an extraordinarily hot day without one complaint. I used Anton's Movers to move recently from Boston to NYC. This was my 6th professional move in 5 years so I have a lot of different experiences dealing with moving companies all around the country. Everything about the process was smooth and efficient, I could not be more satisfied! Booking process: - I filled out the quote online and Anton's Movers emailed me shortly after with a quote. Anytime I had a question or change to the quote, they would email back immediately. - They were extremely professional with their courtesy calls when there was a change and prior-day reminder Day of Pick-up: - I had Yury & Stan crew. They gave me a courtesy call letting me know when they were on their way. I have to be honest, I was surprised when I saw Anton's had only sent 2 movers, but they were SO EFFICIENT and packed it up in the blink of an eye. Day of Delivery: - Yury & Stan gave me a courtesy call prior to delivery and they delivered right on time as expected. There wasn't very easy street parking when Yury and Stan arrived, so they had to park a little further down the street from my front door. They didn't complain at all! They had a great attitude and continued to work extremely fast (but still careful) In the past, I've had up to 5-6 movers handle my furniture that would take hours to pack up and deliver. We hired this company for a move on 1/13 from Woodstock, CT to Worcester, MA. Had a fantastic experience with Anton's during our move from Brooklyn to Boston last weekend. They were easy to work with in advance of the move and gave us a clear written quote based on our estimates. When we had to revise those estimates up, they were understanding and it didn't even wind up impacting our (very reasonable rate). Do not use Anton's Movers!!!!! Pros: 1. They showed up on time (10AM). 2. The guys seemed nice enough. Cons: 1. It took them 6 1/2 hours (!!!!!) to move my 300 sq ft apartment to a building 2 miles down the street. 2. I was quoted 3 hours for the move, meaning that I ended up paying OVER DOUBLE the estimated amount. 3. The movers showed up in a U-Haul... Yes, a U-Haul. Very (un)professional 4. The movers took a a 30 minute break 2 hours into the move. And I paid for it. Really?? 5. The box spring didn't make it to my new apartment and I had to ask(!) where it was and why it wasn't there. Bottom-line: Anton's Movers is extremely unprofessional and I am horrified by how much it cost me to move/how long it took. If I had a 2 bedroom apartment, okay. But I had a (perfectly packed) tiny apartment with an elevator in my old apartment. At one point, I started moving things into the hall myself because, apparently, a 100 lb girl is faster than 2 men. I'm still incredibly angry about this experience, so I feel compelled to write this review. When I called to complain and receive an explanation, I was told that it was because "one of my apartments didn't have an elevator." Odd since the long-distance moving company I used to move to Boston only took 2 hours to move the same number of items. These guys were incredible, 3 guys 1 truck 3.5 hours later they were in, out and gone! Awesome. Very friendly, very professional and I'd recommend them to everyone next time you have to move. The best part? They weren't too expensive! We were moving out of a 3rd floor walk-up to a 1 floor house and they didn't make a peep - we did offer them some tasty gatorades to help ease the move. This company set a new record for us in paying to feel abused.... First, the good points: + The pair of movers that showed up were HARD workers, and very friendly through what was probably a long ordeal for them as well. + We did not note any damage to our items after the move. Now, here are just some of the issues we had: - We had to DESTROY OUR COUCH: --- My wife discussed their window-hoisting services when booking the move, mentioning that the couch was too big to fit through the narrow halls. Despite this, the movers were surprised by the expectation to hoist the couch, telling her that they had no hoisting system other than themselves [and could not lower the couch out the windows]*! In the end, they could not move the couch and (in order to empty the apartment before our lease ran out) had to use our neighbor's tools to chop it up and leave the pieces on the curb. - They took more than TWICE AS LONG as estimated: --- Despite the company previously collecting details on the size and contents of our apartment (and being warned about the massive amount of books we had), the movers said they didn't realize we had so many items and they should've brought a bigger truck. Thus, they needed to make two trips and didn't finish until well after midnight! - They charged almost TWICE AS MUCH as estimated: --- Though they were the ones that brought the wrong equipment, we were the ones that had to pay, as we were then charged [by the owner]* for the time it took to come back and load/unload a second time! We fought [with him]* to get $100 knocked off the doubling in price, but otherwise paid for the company's inability to fulfill the terms of our contract! In short, I REALLY wish we paid the extra money up front for more well-known movers; it probably would have ended up being cheaper in the long run and saved us a lot of headaches! After moving across the country a year ago and having one of the most horrific experiences of my life, it was an absolute pleasure to work with the guys at Anton's. From the moment I called to make the appointment until the day they dropped off our things in New York, these guys were nothing but lovely. They were on time, respectful and incredibly fast. My only complaint is that one of our boxes fell in the truck and left a pretty big gash in our rather expensive and practically new dresser that will cost quite a bit to fix, but accidents happen and as far as moves go, this one was pretty painless. Is moving fun? No, never, but with Antons mover it is as pleasant as possible. These guys were AMAZING! So friendly, so good, so efficient. I was floored. Rudy was great from the get-go during the scheduling process. Then, due to inclement weather on our scheduled move date, he squeezed us in at the end of the day we called to ensure we moved during dry weather that weekend. Anton's just moved me from Cambridge, MA to New York City, and I was very impressed with their service. First, they responded almost immediately to my initial contact with a reasonable quote, which ended up being the final price they charged me (they didn't try to tack on any surprise charges at the end). Secondly, the move itself was very smooth. Eugene and his team arrived on the early end of when they said they would, moved my things quickly, and were in good communication throughout the move. I recently moved from Malden to downtown Boston. I only had 1 week to look for a moving company and was glad that I came across Anton's Movers. They are my lifesaver! Reserving for movers was super easy. Everything could be done online. As soon as you are done with the reservation process, they will send you and email for confirmation and someone from the company will call to confirm your date. They will give you the estimated time of the moving process and a quote of the hourly rate. On my moving day. Two guys came to help. They showed up half an hour early but was courteous to give me a call beforehand. They moved everything out of my apartment in 30 minutes. I waited quite awhile for them to drive to my new place though. Their might have been traffic for them or something. But they worked efficiently to move everything to my new place. It ended up taking them 1hr 40 min for the move plus 25 min travel time to get to my apartment initially. I was able to use the yelp voucher and saved $20. The hourly rate for 2 guys was $100/hr. This was definitely worth the money spent. It would have been a hassle for me to get this done by myself! read more

Anton's is the best. Simple as that. They are a great combination of efficiency, friendliness (without being too over-friendly, you know what I mean?) and quality service. I've used them twice now for moves between Boston and Brookline, and have been super happy both times. They moved me from a 4th floor walk-up in Beacon Hill (ugh! the worst move) to Brookline a few years back and did so super quickly. I remember they had extremely fair pricing so I tried them again for my move to Fenway this year and it was very much worth it. Great group of guys who are genuine and polite. They moved about 75% of my boxes to the truck in just 20 minutes! I was so impressed. On top of that, they wrap the fragile furniture (TVs, dressers, wooden tables, etc) so that nothing is damaged. So if you forget to pack something or need extra help, they will provide it. Even after they moved most of my furniture into my new apartment they asked if I needed help unpacking or moving it into different rooms. I declined the offer but just know that they will go the extra mile to help! One extra thing I appreciate is that they charge by 15 min blocks of time vs. charging you for the full hour if you go over. It's the little things like this that make a difference. The two gentlemen who came by weren't chatty kathy's by any means which was fine by me, but they were all business and made my move from cambridge to the back bay as easy as possible. I had lots of fragile pieces which they handled with care. They even maneuvered around the aggravating parking situation around my new place. WORST MOVE EVER!!! IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!!! The 2 movers (who were about 120 lbs a piece) were 2 hours late, broke my dresser, and when i asked to speak to their manager, their manager YELLED at me on the phone (i mean SCREAMED!!!) and hung up. These were the worst, most difficult movers ever!. I would NEVER recommend them! So rude, even though i made every attempt to be kind. I was charged the price that I saw online which was hundreds cheaper than other movers I was looking at. On the day of the move, Philip and his colleague arrived on-time and ready to work. I will not use them again. They were almost on time, two young guys; the one who spoke English was a jerk, the only-Russian was nice but relied on his jerk friend to translate. It seemed good enough, they moved quick, got all my stuff in one truck, but at my new house there was a lot of lounging. I really didn't mind too much, except that I was paying by the hour and was anxious to get done with the awful process. At my wit's end I watched, and WISHED I had video'ed for other patrons, as the young Russian kid slammed my white couch repeatedly against my new door frame to my living room. I couldn't speak I was so horrified. The other one comes after me with the papers to sign and say "no liable damage"... why did I not wait and review my stuff???? The couch was ripped, black hand-prints all over it, even though I had wrapped it! The door frame was busted. So upsetting. Worked hard, but they need to learn some respect and training. Never thought a moving experience could be "delightful," but Chris and Sergey made it so. This company is pure class from start to finish -- amazing website with detailed information, and a helpful user portal with the personalized details of your move (you can even download a copy of your mover's insurance from the portal). Very responsive customer service... if I called and my call rolled to voicemail, the company would call me back within minutes. Every request I made (including price quotes, updates to the insurance, questions about storage, etc.) was handled within ~12h via email. On moving day, Chris and Sergey were very communicative via phone to let me know when they would be arriving. They were extremely efficient and made me feel very comfortable as they were in-and-out of my apartment. Most notably, I had a bit of a tricky situation where I was moving from NYC into a storage unit in Boston. I was nervous about the process but my crew handled it beautifully. Chris texted me screenshots of his GPS as they were getting closer to Boston so that I would have an accurate ETA, then worked with the property manager of the storage unit to unpack my stuff. It was a big ask and this crew was the best. They even took photographs of my stuff all moved into the unit + a photograph of the unit all locked up! I utilized the services of Anton's for a short move within Boston proper. Very smooth, fast and stress-free. Direct and to the point. Two movers showed up five minutes early and got to work. Stuff went in truck - drove to new apartment, then everything was unloaded to my specification and we were done. They even gracefully dealt with an unexpected complication when there were illegally-parked cars in my designated and permitted moving space (thanks Somerville!). Moving is one of the worst things one will ever go through, but I have to say that this step in my process was definitely the easiest. Highly recommend! Anton's helped me move a couple of months ago and like some of the other reviewers said, a couple of Russian men showed up for the actual move. One was the same person who scheduled the move and remembered specifics I had mentioned when making the reservation. They immediately began loading the truck- very organized and on top of what needed to get done! They also made small talk and were friendly throughout the move. I was surprised by how much of my stuff they took (some items were smaller and not boxed, so I hadn't really expected them to move them, but it was much appreciated). I also had a very heavy chest of drawers, which I know was terrible getting up the narrow stairs to my 3rd floor apartment. They hardly stopped for break! Another very helpful thing they did was assembly. I had a mirror that needed to be reattached to my dresser as well as a tv stand with glass shelves they took off during moving (the shelves are suction cupped to the frame so it wasn't easy making sure each one was perfectly lined up before placing down). Also, they moved the old tv stand down to the street for trash pickup so me and my roommate didn't have to worry about it later. These guys are awesome! We used them to move from a condo in Boston to a house in the suburbs. Half of our stuff was in the condo, the other half was in storage unit, and in the middle of it all we had to meet with our lawyer for an hour so they were on their own, and were totally competent. They worked so quickly and did an awesome job, and at a far more reasonable price than movers we've used in the past. Once we got to the house, they were careful to put all boxes in their correct rooms which really minimized any additional moving/heavy lifting that they would have to do. Since they were with us through lunchtime, we ordered them pizza, and they took 15 minutes off the final cost of their services for the lunch break- totally unnecessary, but goes to show how conscientious they are about their work. George's team of four showed up and had our 3 bedroom apartment completely packed up and and unpacked in our new house in 3 hours start to finish. Almost a year ago I moved from Boston to New York. A couple of friends had used Anton's for local moves and were happy with the price and after calling several places, they had the best price for my NYC move. Day of the move, Anton's arrives EARLY (just before 6am) and were out of my first floor Brookline apartment by 8am. We were all arrived in New York around noon and they started hauling all of my stuff to my third floor walk up on the Upper West Side. They were work horses getting everything into my much smaller NYC digs. When I got my initial quote, they underestimated how many boxes I would have and pointed this out so I was expecting to be charged more than originally quoted. No problem, that was fair. When it came time to settling the bill they charge me what I had be quoted (and it was a non binding agreement). Definitely recommend them for the Boston to NYC move! I've moved with Anton's twice now. Once 5 years ago and the second time, just yesterday. Both experiences were extremely good. Yesterday, they showed up 10 minutes earlier than the time that they had said that they'd come by. These guys are extremely fast and efficient. During the 4 hour move, involving a LOT of heavy boxes and equipment, and a couple of flights of stairs, I only saw them take 1 break, and it was only about 10 minutes. Easily worth the $370 +tip. My husband and I have used Anton's Movers twice. The first time they were fine. The second time, moving the same stuff with few additions (it was only 2 years later), they were lazy, complained throughout the day, and took 11 hours! Last time, the move took 8 hours. Both times included a stop at our storage unit. I will not use them again, and would not recommend them to anyone. It's not worth the relatively cheaper price. Some highlights: They took a 40-minute lunch break two hours into the move, and then several breaks throughout the day. We lost count. One of the three movers only moved 5-7 boxes or pieces of furniture the entire day. His job seemed to be organizing the truck - not necessary when we were bringing boxes and materials into our new place, but he did not leave the truck often even then. They broke one of our dining room chairs, and after showing it to me broken, told me that it was an old chair and would have broken anyway. They were unable to get our two dressers up the staircase in our new place. They did not offer to try to use pulleys, and frankly it looked as if both would have fit but by this time they were tired and two of the three guys were quite scrawny. We ended up putting the nice dressers in our basement and buying cheap dressers from IKEA. Eventually, my husband ended up bringing boxes in as they were often stopping for smoke breaks or "reorganizing" the truck (even when we were at the final destination and things just needed to come inside. Throughout the day, which was a high of 80 degrees and partly cloudy - perfect moving weather, they admitted - they complained about everything... we didn't have enough tape for them, the dining room table was heavy, we had too many things, etc., etc. read more
