For those who have or are thinking of purchasing a Volkswagen or completing service on one, I would suggest traveling to the Catonsville or another location..........Here's why....... After I was rear ended on April 13 I had my car taken there for the 2nd time. It's now June 22. The first time I was hit in a parking lot it took 1.5 months to repair. None the less, my partner and I have been faithful service and maintenance customers since purchasing our VW's and have never had any customer service issues until using the Pasadena location. My car has been in repair and service for 2.5 months. (I get it, covid happened) after 2.5 months I get the car back with paint drips on the repaint, black hand prints all over the off white ceiling/doors, a leaking door frame, and numerous interior fit issues. Ok Cool, shit happens. It shouldn't happen after 2.5 months, but it happens none the less. That's not even the issue, what really sent me into orbit was coming back after pick up and asking to speak with a manager. I asked the manager to allow me to show them the issue and was told "That's not my department, I'm service" you'll have to wait for the body shop on Monday......" Now mind you, 4K$ if the repair was billed to the service department and neither department noticed the issues. So, I decided leave and call Monday to speak with the GM. Monday at 9:30 am I am told they aren't there and we don't know when they will be in. So I go to the dealership at 10:10am. I ask again to speak to the GM and am told it isn't a good time for him. What?!?!?!? It isn't a good time for me either, but I am still here trying to get what should have been done correctly the first time fixed. Well.......as I sit here waiting I am seeing why the GM couldn't come talk to me....it's FAR more important to be setting up to shoot his radio and tv ad for more business. So I JUST WANT TOT SAY thank you so much for carving time out for me and I see how my 15k$ in service business and 100k$ in vehicles purchases means to you and to your dealership. This location deserves ZERO stars!!! I should have followed through with my instincts and the yelp reviews I read prior to purchasing from this location and maybe even for Volkswagen it's self. I purchased a 2019 VW Jetta in Jan of this year. Around about 5,000 miles I began to experience trouble with my ABS breaking system. My car spent 2 and a half weeks at this location shop because they could not figure out what the issue was. In the midst of it all communication was poor & customer was poor. (Warning sign) Since then, I've had multiple minor issues where my car spent a few days of being in their shop... Most recently, as I was getting a oil change, the tech noticed that my car had a small oil leak around the seal. I scheduled an appointment for the beginning of Jan, my car spent just about a week in the shop for the repair although I scheduled the appointment their excuse was that they were down technicians and had a few large jobs to do. I finally received my car shortly after that. Now fast fast forward to yesterday (not even a month of receiving my car out the shop) my antifreeze light has came on, my car is OVERHEATING, I've called the service department and spoke to a rude person by the name of MATTHEW was completely unhelpful, not knowledgeable, totally EMPATHETIC and then the audacity to hang up on me because I'm frustrated that I am PAYING for a car that has been in and out the shop since I bought it with issues that I have no control over. He told me to check the level of coolant and put coolant in the car, first of all I shouldn't have to do such. This is ridiculous and unacceptable, I am currently waiting for the service manager name Jackie to give me a call back, I also plan to contact the branch manager, BBB, Volkswagen corporate office, and the warranty to see if there's anything I can do to receive a replacement vehicle. I'm done with this car and will probably never purchase VW again. Update:Jackie the service manager called and was extremely helpful thus far. read more

Best car experience I've ever had. Took days to talk my mom into going to a reputable dealer for her WELL needed new car. After talking with Erick he was able to give us all the information we needed and my mom couldn't be happier. We went to look at a Jeep and left with a 2020 Jetta. My mom was smiling ear to ear (behind a mask Ofcourse). Erick was so genuine and kind, fast and efficient. There was some down time but he used that to get to know us, explain in depth the process and truly win over my moms trust. I couldn't have appreciated him more. He has us as a forever client and after just a few hours my mom drove her brand new car off the lot. He set up her warranty, her VW app and explained how payments would be. Went to look at a 2013 Sonata Limited that looks good on the site and has a fair price listed. The car looked pretty good in person except for some fairly superficial paint damage on the rear end/bumper. I asked the dealer during the test drive why it's been available so long (over 3 months on Edmunds and another site) and the reply was "That's not really very long for this area. People around here can't really afford nice cars." With the damage to the paint, the price wasn't quite as fair but still planned to negotiate because otherwise the car was in pretty good shape. Then I got the ACTUAL price. Over $800 tacked on for inspection fee that was "required by Maryland law" (yes, the $60 inspection is required, but it's not required to tack $800 on to the fair purchase price) and another $1000 for a reconditioning fee. At this point, the price was well over the full retail for a certified used Sonata that's in like new condition. This was not in like new condition and in fact it's a "fleet vehicle" which would normally lower the value on top of the visual damages. At that point, there was no way to negotiate a deal that makes any sense. I expressed concern about the reconditioning fee to which the reply was "I know, but all the dealers do it." Two days later I bought a 1 year newer car with 13k fewer miles and the only fee that dealer added to the Edmunds price was a $300 processing fee (making it about $1500 less, out the door), so I guess not all dealers do it. I guess it's not still available because people in this area can't afford it, but because they haven't found anybody stupid enough to fall for their game yet. Don't be that stupid customer. There's a lot of dealers that know they can make a profit without shady fees. Pretty sad that a large, reputable new car sales company would play the kind of games you'd only expect from shady, small used car lots. read more

Picked up a rental car on Thursday from this location and viewed their inventory while there...no one came out to ask me questions...strike 1. Went to drop off my rental car Monday and was ready to make a deal on the spot this morning when they opened but apparently I parked the rental car in the wrong spot. The "owner" told me to move. I complied but the tone and attitude led me to believe that customer service was not a priority here...strike 2. If the owner was that rude to a potential customer than how would his staff be towards customers...attitude reflects leadership. If you have other options I would go there, they dont greet customers nor talk to them correctly when they do...which speaks volumes. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had trying to buy a car. My wife decided on a Jetta. So I test drove one, liked the configuration, and met with a young salesman, John Dickerson. We settled on a price, and agreed to meet the next day to bring my wife down. She drove the car and liked it. We settled into the office to go over the paperwork. John kept asking if we wanted financing, but my wife wanted to pay cash. But as he's filling out one of the many forms, he starts asking odd questions, like who her employer is, and if she has any references. Finally she asks what the form is? "Loan application." Look, I said, we told you, we're paying cash. "OK, but we still have to get a credit approval?" What for, I ask, we're writing you a check. "It's VW policy." I respond that this is strange, since I bought an Audi a year earlier, and they didn't require a credit check, are you sure it's VW USA policy? He seems a little uncomfortable, hesitates for a few seconds. "Let me check," he replies, and goes off to get the sales manager. Sales manager comes in -- I wish I remembered his name -- fat guy in a three-piece suit, tells us that yes, it's VW North America policy. I ask about the Audi. Without skipping a beat, he says it's not VW North America policy, but Antwerpen policy. I ask if I go to Antwerpen Hyundai, will I get asked to fill out a credit check, and again, without missing a beat, he changes the story to it's Antwerpen VW policy. I point out that the story has now changed four times, and he says -- and this is a direct quote: "Well I'm not going to stand here and be called a liar," and storms out of the office. The sales guy, John, tries his best to salvage the deal, but my wife was done, and frankly so was I. I got an apology email from John later that day, which was too little too late. And, frankly, he wasn't the one who should be apologizing. Think about it: You have the customer in your office, with her checkbook out, an agreed-upon price for a vehicle that's in your inventory, and you kill the deal by being a jerk. I don't know if that sales manager is still there, and I don't care; I'll never go back. We bought an identical car from Valley Motors in Cockeysville the next day. No issues. No credit check. I attempted to purchase a used vehicle from Antwerpen VW. What a horrible experience. The website and the salespeople are not accurate or consistent about pricing. Note the fine print on the website "All Used Car prices exclude $1,000 cash or trade,..." The true price of the car, if you pay cash, is $1,000 above the internet price. The salesperson I was working with initially quoted a price $1,300 above the advertised internet price. Only when I challenged him a few times did he drop the price back to $1,000 over the internet price. He kept stating that I was getting the internet price if I put down $1,000! When I asked about the price if I paid cash, he quoted me a price $1,000 above the internet price. Ugh. The salesperson did say he was offering me an extra good deal because he would not charge me for Maryland inspection--knowing that I am residing Virginia. Do I need to pay for a Maryland inspection if I register in Virginia??? I bet that he would have also waived the Maryland vehicle tax and claim that he was giving me one of the best price deals ever. The car I was interested in purchasing was well over Kelly Blue Book. It was also $1,000 to $2,000 above similar vehicles within a 20 mile radius. The salesperson said that even though the cost of the vehicle is higher than others in the area, it is a better deal because it is fantastically priced and is being sold by a prestigious dealer! It's been a long time since I swore off this awful dealership. Guess what? I still get a monthly phone call. "This is Mike Dotson (Dodson?) at Antwerpen Volkswagen. We noticed you've missed many service appointments (appointments? I haven't had an 'appointment' in nearly a year...). Please call us at blah blah." Dear GOD. How do I escape these people? A phone call gets me on hold for 5-10 minutes. Instead of saying "I had several bad experiences and never want to come back!", which I knew would lead to questions and begging me to return, I just lied. I would like to make two separate comments in regards to this dealership. Sales Department: I found my experience to be very good and they were extremely fair to me when it came to the purchasing of my 2011 Jetta TDI and my trade. Everyone from sales to the finance department were courteous and helpful. Service Department: Avoid these people like the plague! I would rather let a chimpanzee work on my vehicle. I live 50 miles from the dealership and felt obligated to utilize their service department since I bought the vehicle from them. In the first 15,000 miles, I have been to the dealership no less than 6 times. This includes my 10k service and multiple trips to repair two minor window issues. Both issues required multiple trips, and on my last visit, the technician put a large dent in my door that they neglected to make me aware of. I noticed it when I got home and they did not hesitate to fix it, but I feel their body shop could have done a more thorough job and they left my car an absolute mess (even after they sent it to the wash bay for cleaning). Will I buy another car from them? I don't know. But I can guarantee the service department will never touch my vehicle again. read more

Today, we made a big life decision and Christopher Hunn and Antwerpen Volkswagen were there for the great ride. For the past month we've been looking for the right car and dealership to buy a new car and decided to go with Volkswagen. This morning, we started at another Volkswagen dealership in Maryland (in Rockville) and it just didn't seem right. They were nice, but the prices just didn't seem right. This afternoon, we decided to give another dealership a try, and stumbled upon Antwerpen. We gave Antwerpen a call before we headed over, and spoke with Matt. However, when we got there, Matt was helping another customer, so he introduced us to Chris. At first we were a little take aback, but in the end it was a great outcome. Chris was great - he definitely was NOT your typical "salesman." He has a bit of an edge and sold us an awesome car with it's own bit of edge. We are a young couple and he was so real with us and so knowledgeable about the models and features - it was great. Granted, buying a car can be long and laborious process (as ours was), but we couldn't be happier with our choice of car or dealership. On my way out the door with the dealership in my rear view mirror and the feel of the car under my feet I had a big smile on my face and no regrets. read more

Where to start. How about the fact that when I picked up my brand new car from Antwerpen VW, the steering wheel was torn. No biggie. They replaced it a week later. Kind of a weird start, but all was well. I brought the car in for warranty work about 6 months later for a random EPC light. I told the service personnel that I didn't want my car washed b/c I'm particular about my paint and I had recently detailed it myself. It was immaculate when I dropped it off. I pick up my car after the warranty work and the car was still wet from the car wash. Every single body panel was swirled. It looked like somebody ran steel wool over the car. The service department manager apologized and set me up with the dealership's in-house body shop. They re-polished the entire car and it looked good as new so kudos to the body shop. Most recently, I needed to schedule my 10K mile service. The night I bought my car, I was promised by one of the sales personnel that the 10K mile service would be complimentary and to just call the service department when it was time. I was informed that it's a normal service provided as a courtesy for purchasing a new car from them. I called them today and they told me it is not complimentary. I spoke to the sales manager and he informed me that unless it was in writing, I was SOL. This confirmed that trusting a sales associate's word is a mistake and that anytime someone at the dealer "promises" something, make sure to get it put it in writing b/c they will sneak their way out of it. A select few of the sales personnel and service department folks (Lisa in particular) were great, but this dealership overall has been a hassle and I can't recommend that anybody buy a car from them. p.s. If you do decide to go to them for service, do NOT let them wash your car! read more

Just bought my first new car a 2013 gti Autobahn edition. Was helped by Christopher Hunn , he is a very great guy and very professional , I worked out the deal online and went in. I am very happy with my new Red GTI. I did get the deal I was asking for which was Greattttt .The atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant . Only pitfall was , I got suckered into buying the Fidelity extended warranty , but really don't need it , did not Budget for it , but lucky I have 30 days to back out of it. and I told them I had Credit union financing but , I was suckered into PNC bank financing (2.8% and my credit union told me I could have got 1.7% ), because I was in awe at my new shiney car. Well I was not suckered at all, I was buying and they were selling. I could have said no, but I said yes . lost track of my bottom line on aftermarket . This is why when buying a new car you need to stick to your guns with your terms ect.. and take a friend who will not let you leave your terms. I can get my money back for the warranty (3rd Party) and will re-finance with my credit union. which will take additional time out my schedule,( which bothered me so bad the next day). but will save me around $1900 dollars, now I have to go back and fix a $1900 mistake , but at least I can fix it so if you already have financing and and don't need an extended warranty be firm. I could not sleep all night asking myself why in the hell . but do buy a car from them , and stay away from darcars dealers , they will eat you up alive . and use every sales trick in the book , and will go as far as insulting people. blowing up your phone ect. Just visited this dealer today after receiving a call from the Antwerpen Dealer representative, I have been shopping around for a decent vehicle for a few months and just started again the other day to be able to get back and forth to work and pay bills like any other average adult parent. I explained my situation to the Finance Rep/Manager (if that's what they want to title him as) explained my credit score, what my job title and everything was flat out. I won't go into specifics but I spell it how I think it's pronounced "Jaylan" or Jailan a staff member of Antwerpen certainly had me fooled knowing I am under diar circumstances and even had the salesman pick me up from near my home to what I believed was a "done deal" and on Valentines Day with my wife and family. I am being told that after everything I explained and how I was going to make the down payment that they didn't want to or couldn't help me at all, he couldn't be completely clear with me as I was trying to get home in a vehicle. While we are discussing the down payment he had carried a very sarcastic tone and fired back at me with stating that I wasn't being totally open and clear with my details and trying to have me put a vehicle into my small business name that isn't completely established as of yet. The sales rep was from what I could tell trying to be as helpful as he possibly could and kept his composure extremely well for his age! Props off to him! Ja** len however it's spelled, at Antwerpen Voltswagen in Pasadena Md became rude, lost his composure even though he didn't have to raise his voice, his tone and his words were enough for me to be very disappointed with this dealership. The Finance rep should not have said what he said and explained things more thoroughly like majority of Finance reps tend to do when trying to win a sale or have a potential client return. Not Only was he Very unprofessional but his mannerism, customer service and communication skills were awful and was not clean shaven, and did not present himself in a professional manner in anyway at all. If Any Corporate office or General Management get to read this, my sales rep should have his job with the way he was able to handle his personal behavior and keep a cool head. I am in desperate need of a Vehicle still, But I refuse to purchase from any dealer locally with that type of employee who doesn't take his title seriously nor the business. The Staff was excellent however, the service to the vehicle was completely useless. I didn't get a good explanation of what the exact problem was or even a possible solution to fix, except, completely replacing all my parts that I just had recently replaced. If new parts or non-VW service parts are not the replacement, my car cannot be fixed. I paid $155.00 for what I could have paid to get fixed at another establishment. Totally a waste of my time and money. I plan to use this experience to warn owners of the scam that your establishment uses. read more

Just bought a brand new GLI from Antwerpen VW and I couldn't be happier. First off this is a great location for a test drive beacuse you can hop on 100 right next to the dealership and really see what a car is made of. The salesman, Chris Hunn was awesome and extremely patient and knowledgable. If you've been to a dealership before you know that sometimes it feels like you're being rushed into buying something without knowing what you really want, and that never happened here. We test drove three different cars, and Chris was patient with us all along the way. What really sold me is how they handled us leaving to look at a car at another dealership. Chris stayed in contact with me, but was never pushy. When it came to the negotiating process they were very upfront, and made an awesome offer on my trade in without the usual haggling. I can tell you they beat other dealerships by a lot on my trade in. Neil and and (a different) Chris were awesome managers and worked with me on the payments I wanted. When it finally came time to do the financial paperwork Tony was also great and he made the process very easy and transparent. Overall it was a great car buying experience. Great inventory, staff, and customer service. I highly recommend Antwerpen. Oh, and the GLI is AMAZING. read more

If that wasn't bad enough, the warranty information was not only grossly overstated on the internet ad, that deceit continued when we arrived in person and was not admitted until we personally viewed the Carfax and questioned it. I try to be a person who focuses on the positive and only tries to communicate compliments and appreciation, but today I had a horrible experience. The staff were terribly unprofessional and unknowldegable about the availability of their cars. I was very transparent with them, letting them know I would not be purchasing a vehicle today. After about an hour, they tagged out the high grossing salesperson for the guy who just started this week when they realized I was serious about wanting time to think about the purchase. I know salespeople are pressured to sell cars, but this experience was far beyond the normal negative stereotypical car dealership experience. read more

The only kind of car I had ever bought was my first one back when I was 16 years old. Needless to say, that was a while ago and it was a beat up clunk of metal that I bought from an individual person. So making the choice to buy a car was a huge decision for me & it was one that I didn't take lightly - after all, this would probably be the biggest commitment I've ever made in my life thus far. I was especially nervous to step foot into a dealership for fear of being taken advantage of or made to feel stupid. The moment I walked into Antwerpen I was greeted with a friendly smile & I told the nice man that I had spoken with Nathan Thomas on the phone earlier in the day. I waited just a couple minutes before Nathan greeted both me and my friend with such a laid-back and approachable demeanor. Any feelings of nervousness disappeared as he joked with us and put absolutely NO pressure on me. I knew exactly which car I wanted to look at (the beautiful Sky Blue 2012 Mazda3) so he lead me to it, and before I realized it we were in his office talking numbers. I seriously cannot express enough how thankful I am that I just so happened to talk to Nathan on the phone and that I ended up working with him. Not only was he hilarious, he was relatable on a personal level and never pushed me to do anything that was outside of my comfort range and budget. He went above and beyond to answer all the questions I had (believe me, there were A LOT!) and never seemed bothered. He was extremely knowledgeable and he is obviously talented at what he does. It's rare to find someone who is truly great at what they do & even more rare to see from their face that they enjoy it. I couldn't help but give him a big hug as I was preparing to drive out of the lot in my first "big girl" car. I'd recommend anyone I know to head to Antwerpen if they're looking for a truly amazing buying experience with no pressure, lots of laughs, and honest opinions. Not a great experience when we arrived. The wait was too long and we felt like we were waiting on them not the other way around. Had a young sales rep who drove us around and when we asked questions he couldn't answer them and kept saying I'll find out. When we arrived back at the dealership he forgot most of the questions he could not answer and was not very helpful. I gave 2 stars because i felt sorry for the young sales rep who should have been trained. Management needs to hold themselves accountable. Not a good experience at all read more

I was forewarned from the reviews on yelp but took a chance and went anyway. "Come in today and test drive this 200 horsepower this 4 cylinder engine to experience the power and control. VW did not leave out the convenience either". An excerpt from their online ad. I called to make sure the car was available because I was coming 50 miles in rush hour traffic. Sure, Nate in used car sales told me, I'll have it ready and cleaned for you when you get here. I was told the car was a trade in from the day before, had not been inspected which meant I couldn't test drive it and it was FILTHY. The excuse was "I was off yesterday and didn't know about the condition of the car". Duh? How can you advertise a car that is not ready for sale?? They attempted to sell me a car. I was very interested, has financing lined up, and submitted the online interest form. The lady who called and emailed couldn't even get the right name. This happened three times. The manager called to try and see why I hadn't made an appointment. He found it funny that his sales person couldn't get names correct for leads. Run away! These are the guys who give used car salesmen a bad name. They advertised a used car for $13,000 and it seemed like a great deal, but after making us sit around for an hour, they came back and said it was going to be over $16,000. Apparently there is small print about a reconditioning fee which is basically their cost for fixing it up to sell. Meanwhile they advertise the car at the price it would have sold for if they didn't fix it up and then they stare blankly at you and try to tell you that is the industry standard. We went to two other dealerships and guess what? They sold their cars for what they advertised without any additional fees! Antwerpen is a SCAM. Don't waste your time. read more

I purchased a used car for my daughter from Antwerpen VW. Upon realizing the A/C needed freon and the brakes had a vibration, I tried to contact salesperson by phone and email multiple times. I finally received a text back telling me to contact the service department. I called the service department and they told me that they would look at it for a $135 fee. $135 fee for a car I just bought??!! My mechanic looked at it for free and determined that all the rotors were completely rusted and it needed freon. So $850 later, I now have a car safe for my daughter to drive. Awful. Don't even waste your time. Bait and switch dealership. Went TWICE, once to look at an SUV which the women had told me would not be in my price range, then saw a vehicle online at a great price which was for sure in my price range - Get there, test drive, then when it came to numbers all of a sudden there is a "reconditioning fee" that ends up being thousands more (to cover the money they had to put into the vehicle before selling it on the lot). So a car that is posted at 20k ends up being more in the 30s. Unwilling to work with you. If you have a budget in mind- throw that out the window if you go here. The finance women will tell you "the normal" now a days is AT LEAST at minimum a $500 a month payment (seems to be for any vehicle at any price, considering she said the same thing to me for two totally priced cars). Just don't bother. You'll end up leaving screwed or you'll end up leaving with nothing just to have spent your whole day at the dealership. read more

I recently inquired about a vehicle and called into the dealership. I was referred to Erick Metzger by a friend who has purchased two vehicles from him. I gave him a call and was immediately impressed with his professional demeanor and knowledge of the VW Brand. I live in Ashburn, VA and sadly the dealerships locally (Karen Radley and Lindsay) just don't have the level of professionalism or expertise that this young man has. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The Pasadena location does not deserve any stars! I attempted to purchase a car for my daughter through the USAA home buying service. The General Sales Manager, Armando Graham, informed me if I wanted to use USAA's financing or any other auto financing other than Antwerpen's financing, then will INCREASE THE SALES PRICE BY $1,000!!!!! I FOUND THAT TACTIC TO BE EXTREMELY MISLEADING, UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNACCEPTABLE! My wife visited this location while I was away on business and when I returned I was told that she had gone in for an oil change. During the oil change the technicians damaged the oil drain plug and a new drain pan needed to be installed. She had to pay for their incompetence and a new drain pan. I thought I would go in today for a simple matter and see how things go. All I needed was a layout of the interior fuse box and a description of the function to troubleshoot a issue with my windshield wipers not working. The first person who tried to help me did nothing but try and discourage me from working on this issue and pushed their $145.00 service to check the issue themselves. No intention of trying to just help me with a simple request. The next service person began his conversation with me in the same manner. He finally came around and did some looking for me but ultimately told me that Volkswagon did not have drawing or a chart that has the fuse locations and description of the systems they are protecting. Then he said, we have one but there was no way to print it out. Absolutely unacceptable. Now that my wife and I both have experienced the service your establishment has to offer, I will never let the opportunity go by to tell anyone that you should never go to this business, because, "No They Can't" unless you are willing to pay up front a $145.00 service charge. Avoid this dealership. Their online prices are dishonest. When I questioned why their offered price was way off from what was advertised, they said it was because they factor in every incentive on to the car. They also later said that those incentives can't stack. (Military/College) The worst part of the experience was when the manager started talking. He said that he was a retired Marine and wouldn't try anything shady because we were also a military family. He quoted us a price that was $1500 above what all the incentives brought the price down to. When we noted his mistake, he said he had to factor in costs to have the car on the lot. The only reason I gave an extra star is because the salesman, George, gave us a decent amount of space to test drive and talk amongst ourselves. Horrible experience to say the least, I saw a car I liked online went to the dealership worked out a deal with the salesmen ,told him I would be back 9 Am the next day do to wrap up the deal due to it being late and me having things to do. So I came back as planned with my trade which I wasn't happy to trade in because of the low ball offer they gave me on my car, push come to shove I agreed to trade it at their low offer understanding that they need to make money to with that being said when negotiating my deal they "accidentally" had the car posted online at the wrong asking price , Manager comes in says sorry for the inconvenience but if we can't raise the price on this already negotiated deal we can't sell you the car so I said no at first and then decided to meet them in the middle as a good person understanding no one is perfect. Anyway I purchase the car a 2016 Lexus Is 350 F used with 25,xxx miles on it. Car was filthy dirty, dust still on dash and a complete empty tank of gas,alignment was off, missing valve stem, rusty paint chips  which I notified the salesmen ( he says sir the car was Md State Inspected), I got over all this pretty quickly because they were all easy fixes not even worth talking about. I take it to D And L Window Tinting straight from the car lot which is 11 miles away, I get windows tinted and they call me and say that there is glue on the windows already due to previous owner not removing glue extra $75 to remove glue, I say ok just  remove it because the dealership I bought it from obviously at this point was careless and I expected it.  After getting windows tinted I take the car to grab my Wife and Kids 3 and 9 year old and go to dinner about a total of 9 miles, so far only having 20 miles on the car I park it for the night. The next day I go to Lexus of Towson ( 5 miles) for a complete multi point inspection and oil change, during inspection they notice that the 2 rear tires have holes in them and belts showing on the inner walls of back tires, I call Antwerben and argue with the Sales Manager because he says sorry don't know what to tell you ( I haven't even owned the car 12 hours), we are not covering the cost of the tires because the car was Md State Inspected here and passed so sorry it's not on Antwerben , telling me it's my responsibility that I have to pay Lexus Of Towson $900 for them to put on 2 new tires and align the car properly. Now first off  not only am I  pissed to spend 30 k on a car that wasn't safe to drive with my family in it which could have been deadly I now have to pay for $900 worth of work to the car , paid $75 for tint glue removal, and  waste a lot of my time on stuff that should have been handled in the first place. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE AND WOULD TELL EVERYONE TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!! I've bought about 20 cars in my time from several dealerships in the area and never ever had any of these issues. The Sales Manager hung up the phone on me, that says enough, very unprofessional! I am not going to stop until I receive full reimbursement for my tires ! Completely unacceptable to have passed MD STATE INSPECTION ( this car was not inspected) I don't care what they say!  I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This was a scam and illegal to sell  with holes in my tires. They will be upset they didn't just fork out $900 and level with me, they are going to lose a lot more than that by the time I am done, that's a promise not a threat. I'm a young hard working individual and do not appreciate getting scammed out of my hard earned money. Fyi the salesmen was awesome but their management is completely unprofessional ! I freaking love Antwerpen Volkswagen! I had a flat this morning and decided to bite the bullet and get new tires. I get to the tire place and low-and-behold my lug-nut key is missing. I call vw and not only are they bringing the lock TO ME but they're also bringing me replacement lug-nuts so I don't have this problem again. If you need a new car buy a vw cause they have the best service ever! If you need help ask for mike--he was polite and quick and super friendly. Welp my Yelpers! We have an announcement to make. We have a NEW BABY!!!!!! 2 weeks ago our family welcomed its newest member to the family! Her name is Volkswagan Routan Bell!!!! We are a family of 7; 4 of whom are 5 and under! So it has been HEAVEN being in this new vehicle! Looking for a van??? I never would have even thought about the Volkswagon! What an awesome vehicle. The amount of space, leg room, walk around room, storage room! I'm in love. So let's give y'all the 411 on Antwerpen: So i called and spoke with Scott. They told us they had 3 vans and (without putting all my business out there) Volkswagon was the one for me. We drove out to Glen Burnie, and was impressed on site. Antwerpen was clean. I didn't feel any vultures descending. (sorry I have to make that comment because I had just come from 2 dealerships where the customer service was HORRID!! Yes I will be reviewing you Carmax!) Scott showed us the car (forewarning us that it had not been detailed or fixed up because they just got the van in so the dent on the trunk was a minor detail they wanted us to overlook for the moment). Well lucky them...we are kind folks with vision so I can see beyond a bit of dirt. Sooooooo yeah, previous owner had a pet. If you aren't a pet person (which I'm not quite) dog/cat hair can be.....a downer. But no problem....that's what vacuum's are for right!??! Ok, so I get in the car and AHHHHHHHH space. AHHHHHHH 6 cd changer. AHHHHHHH the BACK WINDOWS AUTOMATICALLY COME DOWN!!!! (big deal for someone who grew up in one of those old school vans for a while) And then the ultimate moment: A DVD Player!!!!!! Do you know how much of a hero we have become for our kids!!!???? Parents, let's all high five on this one! Whew. So it was late when we gave Antwerpen the sale. So getting a detail right away was out of the question. So we made an appointment to get the car detailed the next day. They would provide us with a loaner while they detailed it. But we didn't have to go home with a "total new but looks completely used" car. They gave it a quick wash and we were on our way home for the big reveal for our kids, which happened to be on my 15 year old's birthday! After a rough 2 years our family really were joyful to have this moment with each other. So. Next day. We get there loaner is waiting. Awesome. They provide a bit of gas in the loaner. Great. We got out to a friend's for the day with the kids. We get back, excited. And....well....detailing isn't the forte. But as I learned from one of our elders: some places straight up do not detail so this minor detail shouldn't be our focus. Ok. No problem. We spent sunday having a big Family Detail the Car Day. Ended up being a ton of fun and true bonding moment with us and the car. (lol, i know y'all...i'm too much!) BUT the dent! Anyone who knows my husband knows he does not ride ugly anywhere. So the dent HAD to be taken care of...and done well. Can I tell you I was sooooooo nervous about this! I don't like ruined experiences and my fingers were crossed! They provided us with a loaner again: a 2008 Dodge van, which was nice. Must have some kind of Hemi engine because the acceleration in this one is on point! But no DVD. Not as much space. Kind of blah. 4 days later we get the call that the van is officially ready!!!!! We get there and OUR BABY!!!! Oh the car looked brand new!!! The new car smell trees we put in there really had it RIGHT! The body shop Antwerpen uses or has did an absolute PRIME job! Y'all made this Momma proud! Scott made this experience as painless as possible. He's a pretty straight talker. The team at Antwerpen seems seasoned. Ok, so should you check this place out: I'll give a resounding yes. The experience and the final outcome was really good for us. Thank you Antwerpen for giving me this opportunity to right a great review for a car dealership. Buyer beware! They sold me a new car with an active recall, which is a violation of federal law. My power breaks went out 1 week after I bought the car. There is no fix for the recall and VW has since denied my claim for a replacement. I'm now forced to lawyer up or drive a car with breaks that might go out again. The sales people seemed like decent dudes but its just another sleazy car dealership. Definitely run the VINs and do your research before purchasing from here. Though I'm hesitant to write a review too soon (I just bought the car last week and crossing my fingers that the tags and registration are done quickly), but so far this has been a very positive experience. I have no idea how good their service department is (I noticed they got some bad reviews), but I have to say that they are completely on top of their game when it comes to sales. They gave me a very generous trade-in offer on my Jetta, negotiated with me on a new Passat, and even got the exact color that I wanted from a different dealership. All together, it came out to about $3,000 less than VW Springfield and others in the DC area that I had looked into. Also, the salesman Nathan and the sales manager Neil were very professional and up front. They didn't pressure me into anything I didn't want (I made sure to tell them right away exactly what I was looking for), and Nathan did a great job of making sure I knew how to work all the bells and whistles on my new passat before driving it off the lot. The only reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars is because of the finance guy, who kept pressuring me into buying extra warranties...which would partly defeat my whole reason for buying a new car (dude, the car comes with a 5 year warranty, if that's not enough, perhaps I shouldn't be buying this car!). read more
