Brought my LC500 in for some tires, as it has 21" wheels it was a little bit difficult to find some all season tires but Midas was there to help out. Solid pricing, especially with the perks you get ordering tires with them (alignment check, rotating tires for free, warranty). Communication was great, service was solid and the pricing was right. Their wait area is pretty good too especially for a small shop, a couple tables, chairs and sports being played on the TV (NFL talk). Bahama Mikes is pretty much next door if you need a bite or cross the street and there are options like Bon Chon. read more

I don't usually go to chains for service because I have an independent shop in Annapolis I trust. But I was on my way to a meeting in Baltimore and had issues with my truck and I was close to the Nissan dealership and went there against my better judgement because of how close I was and the severity of the issue. The next day the dealer told me I had a plugged catalytic converter caused by sludge in my engine and they recommended cat replacement plus an engine flush for a total of about $8k. I'm a car guy and my BS meter went off! So I took it back and drove down to Midas in Pasadena since they are an exhaust shop and I didn't feel comfortable driving all the way to my guy in Annapolis. What a great decision, and I want to thank Tom Porter and his team for the quality work and making me feel comfortable being at a chain that can do an accurate diagnosis and only do the work required. I was never pressured to do anything other than what was necessary. The diagnosis? A bad coil (coil on plug ignition). The cat was not plugged at all. The raw fuel going into the cat from the bad coil did reduce the efficiency of the cat, causing a computer code, and it will eventually need to be replaced, so you can be sure I will take it back to them to do the work! The job that was done was very good and I was dealt with in a very polite manor, but what made me remove stars was the price. I told them I wanted 2 exhaust bolts removed, one broken one extracted, and to replace with new bolts to fix an exhaust leak. They did this in a timely manor and the job looked good. The mechanic who did this told me he worked for 3 hours and broke one of the bolts himself. When it came to the payment for 3 hours of work it was $547. This is a computer able prove to what I could have paid for a new aftermarket full exhaust. Needless to say I won't be going back to have work done after this. This is way too expensive and when I expressed this he just shrugged his shoulders. read more

I've previously taken my car to the Midas in Annapolis on West Street...then I found this location which is much closer to my home. I then found out they were under the same ownership. My original visit was for air in my tires during a cold spell because the BJs air supply was out of service. I was greeted by the manager Scott and instantly felt at ease. I am on my second visit to the shop for more extensive repair work (that I had been putting off) and the service team has been amazing. They alerted me to an issue that I was not aware of..and even showed me the impact it was having on my car. During my second visit there was also an older patron who was having a hard time wrapping her mind around all of what was going on with her car. Scott, the manager, was extremely patient. He even ordered (and paid for) an uber so she could go home and not sit in the shop all day while her car was being worked on. Don't come here for a Car State Inspection! Just like any auto repair place, this place is full of rip off artists and scum mechanics that prey on people who don't know anything about car repairs, and then rip them off completely. I brought my car here for the state inspection. And sat waiting for them to try oh so hard to find the slightest reason to fail the inspection. Sure enough after waiting for an hour and a half. I get called to my car so they can calmly explain how they were about to screw me over. The guy says that he has the power steering line is wet, and he has to fail me unless I give them $350 to fix it. I tell them immediately to fuck off and give me my keys to my car. And they did, but not before they charged me $100 to the inspection. Plus an extra $35 just to check my tint on the car with a meter. I get the part for my car (only $35) and install it with no problem. Once I took it back there for reinspection. This time they knew that I would l fix whatever "new" problems they found with my car. So they RELUCTANTLY passed my inspection. On they way out I see an old lady that is literally in tears because she can't afford their rip-off prices they are trying to charge her to fix her car. Before leaving I calmly told her to simply leave. Get a local mechanic to do the work and don't look back. These scam artist scum won't get another penny from me. read more

Even though they were short-staffed because of the weather, they were amazing! Quick, personable, explained what was going on. Went for simple Oil change before an out-of-town trip. I was told my vehicle was in dire need of rotors @ $800, but at least a $200 brake pads job because "no back brakes" and I shouldn't move vehicle. I replied there was no indication nor typical grinding of bad rotors. He suggested I borrow money or apply for credit card. He was very persistent that I get the vehicle serviced. Very stressful. Contacted two mechanic friends and both assured me this was not true. No issues on trip and still no indication of any issues with brakes or rotors. I will never return...very untrustworthy... Such a shame we become victims of fraud when we come to a business because of the trust they proclaim! I am so disappointed! read more

Scott was THE BEST. I took my car in for a basic oil change and mentioned a noise it was making. He found $3300 in damage and coordinated with my vehicle warranty company to make sure that he could do the work himself and the correct way because he knew where I originally got my car wasn't as reliable. He went above and beyond to make sure my vehicle was safe for not only myself, but my two month old daughter that I have in my car on a daily basis. I am so grateful and now I'm back to driving without any clinks or clanks and wondering if my car is going to give out! This place is a rip off. Do not trust them. They told me my brakes on my van were bad so I came home and started to replace them and they were still almost new. They tried to tell me it wasn't safe to drive to scare me into having them replace them. Then I took my challenger in and they said the rear shocks were bad. I knew they were still good so I asked them how they knew they were bad. They said they could see the oil coming out of them. This was not true and these shocks are gas filled not oil filled. Made an appointment one Saturday early. I repeatedly called them for updates as the day progressed. Finally go there close to closing to find that they haven't started on my simple oil change when they told me there were close to being done then they tell me I need a new oil pan and give me a few hundred dollar estimate and couldn't get to it until later in the week as he had other appointments. I declined as it was clear my time wasn't important nor the fact that I had an appointment and it wasn't honored. I took my vehicle in after dealing with another incompetent and/or dishonest car shop for years just to get an estimate and an opinion on whether or not the other shop had been honest with me. Not only did they get me in right away and manage to change my brakes, rotors and calipers on my rear axl in under 2 1/2 hours, but they gave me a discount because am retired military. The manager is an amazing people person who seems to have true compassion and understanding for people, and the owner was amazing as well. I walked into this shop for a minor tire repair, ie tire plug. Was greeted nicely by their front salesman, Scott. I explained the reason for stopping in and asked the rate for a tire repair job. He jokingly said $100, then said $20. I said no problem and indicated which tire to fix. This was at about 4:20 pm. After about 30 minutes I started to get irritated. I asked what the hold up was. The garage tech indicated that he couldn't locate the object in the tire. I went into the garage walked to the tire, showed him the object stuck in it and turned around and walked back into the lobby. The other garage tech #2 even kinda put down tech #1 by saying it only took him 2 seconds to find it. When I was in the lobby I muttered "What an idiot" The store manager asked me what I said and I told him. He instructed the employees to put my car down and refused me service. Then Mr. Scott chastised me and pretty much said that I was the idiot. These people overcharge in the first place. If the place burnt down I would bring hotdogs and marshmallows. I notice that this location has a second Yelp listing (perhaps to confuse and befuddle) so I will be posting this review there as well. (I also note some interesting statements made by other Yelpers here that raise eyebrows - like the one from Glen Burnie who drives all the way here from DC or the one who got a blowout in a sidewall of a tire repaired. But I guess you need to know a little something about cars for that to raise an eyebrow. Also, given the rarity of shops trying to sell unnecessary repairs these days, I find it interesting how many comment that THIS shop doesn't do that.) This location seems big on hard selling unnecessary and costly repairs to motorists who are unawares. Horrible customer service when you call them out on it too (a manager who had more concern for my being "rude" to his shop manager than his shop manager lying to me about a repair that I didn't need, and an owner who flatly refused to accept that his shop manager lied about the need for the repair in the first place.) Went in for an oil change with a fundraiser certificate I had purchased. After waiting nearly an hour beyond my 9am appointment, the manager came in to waiting room and insisted to me that my transfer case was "gushing" fluid. Knowing full well that my vehicle was not "gushing" anything, nor even leaking, and that I had NONE of the symptoms that precede leaking which indicate a problem with my transfer case, I inquired what the manager meant. He corrected himself from his original adjective (clearly designed to scare me into consenting to an unnecessary repair) and said "leaking." I told him not to touch it. He kept pressing a bit so I finally said I thought it odd that I had no leaks when I drove in but now, after an hour there, I had a leaking transfer case. He instantly took offense and said I was "implying" that they had done something to my vehicle. Well, yes. Either that or you are just lying to me about my transfer case leaking. The manager then instructed the mechanic to pull my car out of the shop and when it finally came out several minutes later I checked (because at this point I just knew something was terribly wrong) it turned out they had completely drained my oil (save for what was in the filter) and were sending me away in that condition. After refilling my engine oil as much as possible with what I routinely keep in my car, I went straight to my mechanic at the dealership. A quick inspection confirmed that my transfer case was just fine, no leaks, no worries. Stay far, far away unless you know enough about your vehicle to spot a snow job when they try to sell you something you don't need. read more

There was issues with the Ohio store, Scott and Chris( the owner) went above and beyond to make sure we had it repaired for there trip home. Even the guys i checked out with were great.
