We only visited the playground, but there was a lively basketball court, the pool, a splash pad, a covered patio with seating, and public restrooms. I loved that the restrooms were right next to the splash pad (and very close to the playground) and not locked inside the pool gates, so we were able to access them after the pool closed. The splash pad is open 8-8, which is really nice with the later sunset. We arrived around 5:30 and there were a few kids playing in it. By 6:45, it was completely empty. I didn't feel like my toddler would get run over if we decided to play in it on a slow day. The playground was busy but the equipment was so expansive it didn't feel crowded. There was also a smaller toddler structure, baby swings, adult swings, a really nice 4 seater seesaw, some sort of merry go round that was occupied by teenagers, and a couple benches. I believe there was also one picnic table on the playground. The playground structure is so large that I was able to comfortably fit through it at 9 months pregnant. My toddler had a blast. It has a lot of options and variety in heights, slides, climbing skills, etc. He also enjoyed watching the basketball court from within the playground. We'll definitely be back. One thing I didn't see was a water fountain, not even by the bathrooms. But I could've missed it somewhere.

It's a well-managed space that's clearly designed for structured, imaginative play rather than chaos. If you know what to expect, it can be a great outing. Pros: * The location right off The Woodlands Parkway makes it easy to get to without going far out of the way. * The museum is the perfect size--big enough to keep kids engaged, but not overwhelming for parents or little ones. * They host multiple events throughout the month, which helps keep things interesting beyond a standard visit. * Being able to host birthday parties here is a big plus and very convenient. * Pricing feels fair for what's offered, especially compared to larger, more crowded children's attractions. Cons: * The layout doesn't change very often; in two years, I've only seen one noticeable update, which can make repeat visits feel a bit repetitive. * Parking can be frustrating since the lot is shared with a large gym, especially during peak hours. * The shopping center itself is pretty outdated and could really use a remodel, which affects the overall experience. * This is not the place for very hyper kids who need to run freely--everything is more controlled and calm. * There are no concessions, and outside food or drinks aren't allowed, which can be inconvenient for longer visits. Why 5 stars? Because it's super convenient and *almost* free…read more --- --- --- We've known about this place for a while but we finally had the opportunity to take our son. Tickets are only $10, and that alone, is worth the 5-star review. For less than the price of a couple coffee's or cartons of eggs, you are able to have some really cool interactions with animals. If you want to experience anything else like this, you'll have to drive an hour to the Houston Zoo, pay a lot more money for tickets, deal with crowds/parking/etc. The Learning Zoo is obviously not trying to compare itself to the Houston Zoo, but where else are you going to get to play with goats, pigs, birds, a pony, tortoises and snakes? The location is really hidden behind 1488. You drive through a residential street, and then all the way at the back, you make a couple of turns, and suddenly you're at The Learning Zoo. When you walk in, you are offered some lettuce and carrots for the animals for an additional $10, which is definitely worth it. Plus, they have some animals inside the lobby area - snakes, hedgehogs, other reptiles, etc. Then you head outside to the main part of the experience. You can walk amongst the tortoises, get "attacked" by all of the birds in their sanctuary, join the goats and pigs in their pen, and they even brought out a 14 foot snake for people to hold and take pictures with. Everyone here was incredibly nice, too. We were only there for about 45 minutes, but for $40, it was worth every penny.
