    Brisket mac & cheese
    Paul S.

Ate here on October 21, 2022, Friday night, very quiet for a Friday evening. Pretty cool aesthetic, very rustic, and bar feeling but still inviting. I ate the brisket mac & cheese and my wife had the Texas barbecue burger. Both were excellent and very satisfying. I drank the double IPA from the brewery and it was excellent. Wife had the old fashion and it was OK she says. Meal came to $50 for the two of us, Which included three drinks. Overall a pretty nice experience and will definitely come back.

I'm not much of a burger or fries kinda person. When I was here the first time I decided that I wanted to try this place another time or two. I ordered an appetizer. Fried Zucchini Sticks. They were okay. The ranch dressing was so watered down that it was as thin as water. It was thin last time but I believe it was thinner today. I like at least a medium consistency to my ranch. If the dressing is going to be that thin, I'll likely start passing on the appetizers because the ones I like I eat with ranch. I ordered the Patty Melt again. I ordered it medium rare. It was a bit undercooked. More on the rare side but I waited a while and I was hungry so I didn't say anything. The last time I was here, one was cooked perfectly while the other was undercooked. I may have to start saying medium to get medium rare. Though, so far, the Patty Melt is my favorite. My other order was a Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was good and had a spicy sauce that gave it a kick. The bacon was so thin that I couldn't taste it. I had them only give me one small serving of fries and then I didn't eat them. I mentioned it to the waitress that I really don't eat fries but wasn't told any substitutions. The waitress was nice. Though my pet peeve is to be asked if I want or need change back. I cannot stand that. I will give a tip in the amount that I want to give. Don't ask if I need change especially when the tip is about the cost of my meal. The service was okay, I've had better and I've had worse. Today was better than my first experience.

Great food, fun brews, friendly staff = great times! We had the Plain Jane burger and Reuben Mac n cheese and both were amazing! We loved the pilsner and chocolate beer too!

Great staff, and the only craft beer around. They have a great Red, and a European style Porter. The locals that hang out here are friendly and open.

Now imagine, a brewery that's unexpected, dog, friendly, kid friendly, adult friendly, bring your own food, bring your own board/card game, enjoy the vibes of good time, and vacation relaxing. I can't wait to come again in the summer or spring. My spouse and I were in town the week of New Year's in this place was busy! They had a gourmet hot dog stand/ truck outside in the front of the brewery. This isn't a typical brewery set up when you walk in, there's a gift shop you order a beer right there with from friendly staff. It was a 50+ degree "winter" day, it felt natural to order a stout beer. The beers were on the more pricey side, but the beverage comes with complementary glassware to take home. It was weird, but it felt kind of natural that there were people under 21 since there was the hotdog stand and we brought our six month old baby. There are a few people with dogs, which I would recommend. I somehow ordered the best peanut butter stout I've ever had, which was a variation of their Opossum Pouch Stout. My spouse got a pumpkin spice brown ale, which was a variation of their Bigfoot Brown Ale. I won't lie, but normally I go halves with my spouse that comes to food and drinks... However, I was happy not to share my peanut butter stout. I can't wait to come again

Their IPA is top notch, with a great, bright hoppy feel, and their amber was a great balance of a bit of sweetness and a bit of hoppy bitterness. I also had a taste of their Double IPA, which was excellent, but a bit high on the ABV for me that night! The rest of their menu looks great, too -- a lot of solid, classic styles, with a focus on really solid traditional brewing. I'm from Austin, which has a brewery on every street corner, and Oil Horse would be a strong contender here. The location itself is also phenomenal -- a beautiful corner shopfront with windows all around in an historic building, with a great interior and a stage for a band. The place was packed while an acoustic duo was playing and the vibe was great, and Michael behind the bar was a lot of fun to chat with and he was amazing at working the room, making sure everyone was happy and getting to know all his customers. I've known this storefront for years as it transitioned from one short-lived thing to another, but I've always thought something like Oil Horse should find a home here, and now they have. Longview has long deserved a good microbrewery, and Oil Horse has filled that niche with aplomb.

What made this burger stand out was the raspberry Chipotle sauce and fried jalapeños! The flight includes four 4oz pours of any draught and mine were Irish red ale, Pecan Pointe ale, bock beer, and apple cider. The Irish red was my favorite and the Pecan Pointe my least. I would have liked the cobbler to be a little more crunchy, but was still enjoyable. I recommend and will visit again when in town.
