When I contacted them I told them I wanted a screened just like my neighbors right across the street. This did not happen. They didn't include the sun burst. After they installed it they said that cost more & had to be ordered. Ok. after they installed it the door didnt work properly . They came out once & replace and adjusted new screen door handle. Since then I have texted at least 3 times because it slammed loudly & the it quit latching. Told me they would be out. they have not been back to fix. read more

She goes above and beyond! Sean was my sales person. He gave me my estimate and pointed out potential problems. Then the installation crew, Chad, DJ, and Peter. You couldn't ask for more trustworthy and respectful guys to come to your home. They really know what they are doing and work the whole time they are on your project. My project was slated for 6-8 weeks out but was completed in 2 weeks of signing my contract. Yes, there were additional problems with the roof but the crew stuck with it to completion and the owner gave me a good price for the unexpected. SCAMMERS!!!! I wish I could give them ZERO stars!!! I hired them almost 3 years ago! I was about to sue them to get my deposit back, then they called me and said they found my work order on a piece of paper crumpled up in the back of a drawer. When they finally did come to put in the enclosed patio they left the bricks on my lawn for over a month and I was charged by my HOA to replace the sod. I had said from the beginning, the most important thing is to not block the drain hole from my Florida room, I must have told them 20 times. The day they came to put the patio in I told them do not block the drain hole from my Florida room, I used a long screwdriver to demonstrate how low the patio had to be. They were also supposed to install raised planters which they never did. They just put a hole in my patio instead. I was told the drain issue would be fixed after a few weeks I was told by the manager that is was not his responsibility and he would not fix it. I still owed the about $500, they put a lien on y house for over $13,000!!!! Stay away from them, they are TOTAL SCAMMERS!!!!! read more

Hour later I call back, this time they are going to find someone else to come out and call me back. Half hour later they call to inform me they don't work on mobile homes. April 24 2017 had a screened in porch installed they damaged my fence gate, said wind blew it open, they did a very poor patch job, I have photos and emails to discuss the issue, they never offered to fix it right or even to offer a $1 off, I still owe my remaining $490, so I am holding payment until this is resolved, we'll just yesterday after no contact for a long time I get a letter and they put a LIEN on my house, now I have to try to find a way to fight this while I work 10 hour days, I am reasonable, but I am beyond mad at this company and the way I've been treated I would not recommend them to anyone!!! Oh by the way everyone I spoke with there says well your fence is old anyways, so if I run into an old car I can just say well your cars old anyway and slap some duck tape on it, or if they accidentally broke my window just tape it and say well it's old anyways.. Do not use this company....Our porch blew off because of hurricane Erma and we contracted Housman to replace it back in November of 2017. I gave them a deposit and then waited months for them to start. I called and emailed every week to see when it would be started. Finally in January they said it would be the end of February beginning of March. Then just last week I get a call from the foreman informing me that they cannot do the job until we replace the slab it goes on. They knew this way back when and did not let us know. I canceled their services and found someone to to do it cheaper and faster, without replacing the slab. It has been such a headache dealing with them. read more

Our front foyer screen enclosure was installed in September 2015. We were the first in our neighborhood to do this and many of our neighbors stopped to ask for the contractor information as they wanted to same thing done to their house! Housman's did a beautiful job. I contacted them via email last week because my door handle was not working properly. I had tried to find a replacement on the internet and at local box stores but had no success. Linda, from the front office, called me within 10 minutes of me sending the email. The Housman's sales pitch to me was "We charge more than the other guy, but you'll be happier with us and won't have those unexpected costs." They had really good reviews, so I believed them and I was willing to pay more for a hassle free project. I have never regretted anything more in my life. My project was fairly simple, replace my (roughly 14 x 19 ft) screen patio and concrete slab. When all was said and done I was out almost $3500 in additional charges to Housman's (on top of their higher price), and another almost $2000 to folks I had to hire to do all the things they would not - like patching up the stucco where the old patio was pulled off, and to pull off and re-install my hurricane shutter that they told me was "no problem" during the estimate walk thru (no hint that would I would have to hire out that task myself). If I had any issues, no one would come out, I was always told to send pictures to "prove" there was a problem. They only came out near the end of the project when I refused to make the next full payment due to placement of the hidden beams in the roof. I upgraded my patio roof for the sole reason to install a ceiling fan. Workers asked where I wanted the beams the day they started work on the roof. I said I needed one in the center because I wanted to hang a fan there - not hard to judge as the new concrete slab had a big "X" scored into it literally marking the spot. At the end of the day, they show me where the beams were put. In my 19 foot wide patio, I had one beam 4 feet in from the right wall, and the other was 6 feet in from the left wall. I was stunned, and called the office immediately to report the problem. I was told that the roof is up, so no changes can be made, and to make the next payment please. Since they said the work could not be undone, I asked for some kind of refund to make up for this error, as now I have paid extra to upgrade the roof for no reason. This earned me a rare visit by a supervisor. He agreed that the panels could have been placed in a different order that would have put a beam much closer to the middle. Within a day or two though, I get an email again demanding full payment saying they will not offer me any refund because they are out additional expenses on materials (I reminded them they charged me almost an extra $1000 for that). The next reason was that they were out additional expense on my concrete work (I reminded them they charged me an extra $2500 for that). So when those arguments fell flat, I was then told that the workers remembered that I told them to put the beams in those odd locations, therefor the error was mine and not theirs - please pay in full! Unbelievable. Eventually, they graciously offer me $200 off (the cost of the 2 beams). So I am out a fortune and counting - as I haven't even begun to address replacing the dirt that was scraped out of the yard into the slab foundation, replacing the grass, landscaping, or drainage. All that money, to replace a 14x19 patio and slab. So my final words for a review - Save yourself and go with anyone else, or you will pay more than the other guy, have more unexpected expenses along the way, and have to deal with a customer service department that will blame you for mistakes rather than own them and try to make things right. read more

Their work is good. Expect at least a 4-5 month wait, with multiple scheduled dates postponed, and "no shows" without notification. We posponed 2 vacations and a surgery. The second vacation I stayed home for the scheduled appt. Another no show. So if you have nothing to do and can wait for months, you may end up with a decent screened in porch. read more

It took a month for them to come & replace my damaged screen room roof at my Titusville, Florida home, but it was well worth the wait. They did an excellent job , very professional and cleaned up & removed all the old material. Also they were the most reasonable priced compared to the 3 other companies quotes. A couple of months later my screen roof started to leak, I called Linda who always is so sweet & helpful. She had one of the workers come out & check my roof the next day, the problem was my fault, the leak was due to my gutters were clogged. They didn't charge me for he service call & cleaned out my gutter. I definitely appreciated that since I'm a senior citizen. I have & will continue to highly recommend Housman do all my friends & family. read more

We are preparing a report to the better business bureau and also to list them as a non vet friendly company unlike what they have advertised. So far we aren't pleased at all with their staff or their work. I could go through the laundry list with you but I will not. Just be aware that you are taking a risk using this company. We had the hardest time get them to finish the project and even harder time to return calls. We informed that that once the job was complete, repairs done then we would give the remaining balance of 400.00$ and get the warranty from them at the same time. It was then that we received a certified letter stating that they had placed a lien on our screen house. It was only then that they took our calls. We made the final payment of 400$ and decided that our business with them is complete. No warranty, delayed start dates which resulted in it taking them almost a year to finish, workers left expensive equipment laying around for days at or home that we explained we could not be responsible for, never cleaned up behind themselves (metal shards, cigarettes etc... When we asked for a copy of the warranty, we were told that they don't provide a written warranty but if anything happens to call them. Now, I don't expect not to have damage after a cat 3 hurricane but five panels which by the way were some of the same ones we had to have replaced the next day after their first instillation due to sag and looseness. They were very short with me when I called about the screens the next day. Said they would come and check it but it is normal to just give it time. I don't even know what that means. Anyway, once they showed up and saw the screens that were just installed the day before sagging in the breeze, they said...huh we will need to replace those. Well duh! We will not bother this time around to get the ones that were damaged to be repaired by them. We will gladly pay someone else our money. Oh forgot to mention that when they were rerouting gutters, instead of rerouting them, they just cut them and never capped or connected some of them and rain was pouring down the walls and puddling around the concrete. This stayed like this for so long that the water/rain started to erode the soil away around the base of the concrete. Funny thing was that when I posted this review on Facebook(minus the lien because it hadn't happened yet), Housman's submitted a complaint to FB and they deleted our review and the lien notice showed up a week later. I had my back patio rescreened & new gutters/downspouts installed. I had 4 inch gutters before & they replaced them with smaller gutters. Needless to say they don't handle the water flowing off the roof. I was not told they would be installing smaller gutters. I also was charged full price for a screen door that is not new & even though I complained about it, nothing has been rectified yet. read more

I received an estimate from Alex on Oct 28, 2016. He said I would be contacted on Oct 31st to set up a repair time. I didn't hear anything back from them, so on Nov 2, 2016, I called and spoke with Linda. She told me she'd have Alex contact me. It's now Nov 26, 2016, and I've heard nothing from them. This is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! The estimate was for $1200. While that may not seem much to some, at the very least I should have received a call back saying they couldn't do the job, or didn't WANT to do the job. I had a appointment for an estimate last Tuesday from 4-5 pm. The estimator called at about 3:00 and said he was still working in south county and couldn't make it. I didn't have an issue with that - I know sometimes jobs take a little longer than normal. We re-scheduled for 4:30 on Friday. At 4:45 I called the estimator's cell phone to see where he was. It went to voice mail. At 4:50 I called the main number. Someone answered. I told him what was going on. He said he would call the estimator and get back with me. He never called back... read more

If I knew all the problems this company would cause I would never have used them in the first place I will tell you my story and you decide for yourself. The job included installing a composite roof over my existing patio and rescreening the entire patio . After signing the contract it took about two months or so for them to get started. They started taking down the old screen and aluminum and when they did they broke up my stucco which the job manager came and gave us $150 off for that problem. Once they started installing what they were supposed to do they did a good job and quick, however the connection between my existing roof and the new composite roof leaked immediately, I still had the final payment but they told me they would not honor their warranty unless the final payment was made so I paid it . But that was a problem as well since they wanted to charge me $150 more that I was given as an I'm sorry we broke your stucco credit. They finally changed their mind and said no problem. Then they came out five or six times to fix the leak and could not stop the leak. Then they told me it was not their fault it was my existing roof which is only about 10 years old. I then got in touch with the County Licensing Division and they contacted the owner and he contacted me and came out and told me he would help find the leak. He did come out, and he told me that this spot on my roof was the cause of the leak and this is what he suggested I do and I did what he suggested. That did not stop the leak. He told me he would come out again and help me find the leak. I have called several times and left messages with their people and he has not returned any messages so far. I'll start by saying I'll never use Houseman's Aluminum again, for anything. The reason: We had their rep over to get a quote for a screen room addition. We showed him our ideas for the room, including the size and roof type we wanted. After he looked at our survey map, our sketches and our back yard (including taking measurements) the rep said 'no problem, we can do it'. After he told us the room would take 'four to six weeks to COMPLETE', we signed a contract the third week of July 2017 and put down a sizeable deposit; well over $600. Waited about 10 days and hadn't heard from them so I called them. I called every 10 days to 2 weeks for 3 MONTHS only to be told each time that they were 'working on it.' During the 3 MONTHS we NEVER ONCE got a call from them with any updates or information. Finally, the second week of October 2017 I called only to be told the room couldn't be built because of 'water runoff and drainage' issues. I called Brevard county permitting to inquire and was told that wasn't the problem at all. They said that the plans submitted by Housman's would not pass county code because of the building setback. They then said 'we don't know why the plans were even submitted because Houseman's is WELL AWARE of the setback' for our type of porch. They closed by saying they thought we'd been taken advantage of. I called Housman's and asked them to refund my deposit since the rep should have known the setback code and told us from the beginning (3 months earlier) the room couldn't be built as discussed. Nope! They refused to return the deposit. We wrote Housman's owner explaining the issues and received a letter back (no phone call) from someone with whom I had never spoken and was not privy to any conversations I'd had with them during the past 3 MONTHS, telling us the deposit wouldn't be returned and that our letter contained 'false' statements. How insulting! Dealing with Housman's was a frustrating, stressful, fruitless, miserable experience. read more
