Love the 24 seven feature. But at the Aptos location the bathrooms are really bad. Always dirty, always water on the floor, often haven't been serviced. There is only a hand dryer in the bathroom and no paper towels. Hence there's always water dripping all over the floor in addition to dirty showers with hair in the drain & dirty old shower curtains. The gym is too small for the number of members that utilize it so most daytime hours between 8 AM and 8 PM are overcrowded. They need a bigger space and better bathrooms, better, plumbing & better drainage. And they really need to hire a janitorial service that services the bathrooms twice a day, minimally, in addition to the staff keeping up. I absolutely don't blame the staff, it's just too many people, and poorly designed bathrooms. I've been to a couple other Anytime Fitness that did not have this problem. read more

I joined to Anytime Fitness recently and im loving working out there. The gym is never packed, which is super important for me, so I don't need to wait for machines. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It's super organised, for example, they have security cameras to make sure if nobody is bringing someone that's not under the membership. The gym is very small. They charge you twice a month, so i think a lot of people think they're cheaper than the competitor, but they are not. They're about the same price as most other gyms cost $50 & this one is also $40 or $50 depending on when you joined. It's way too overcrowded & it's such a small gym, other than the unpopular times, it's hard to even get your workout in because the amount of members outnumbers equipment demand. None of the bathrooms are ever available either, there's only 3 but they're always full. It also stinks very badly near the bathrooms, which is also the core area, so if youre training core, with kettlebells, or stretching out, it always feel dirty. One time I walked in, & there was human feces on the bathroom floor near the shower, just hanging out there, even though there was a toilet a few feet away. Sometimes the toilet seat & floor is splattered with pee. There's limited equipment, although they did just buy some new equipment which does help a little. It just is not worth the price nor somewhere I would want to join or stay & I would never recommend it other than perhaps if it was super, super convenient for you. Im giving it a 3/5 instead of 2/5 because the staff genuinely seems like they're trying. read more

Not sure Taylor still works here but I deeply regret signing the contract with her. As I was in the office with her, some guys came and as I had a question basically hanging from my mouth she told them that she was almost done and will be there(I guess to fraternize) she basically rushed my into signing without informing me it was an automatic renewal of the contract and then quickly rushed me out so she could hand out with who I can only assume are her friends and boyfriend. I went to the location to start a membership and when I showed up on Wednesday afternoon the front doors were locked even though they were open and people working out inside. While outside I called hoping maybe an employee could let me in, no answer. Kind of annoying I wasted my time driving there but w/e. This morning again I try to call no answer. The gym setup itself is fine and the workers are nice (when they're actually around) but holy moly is it HOT in there every single time! Like it can be 50* outside and it's 100 inside this place every single time I'm here. Even with fans on and doors open - it's always just swelteringly hot in this gym. And everyone is red and sweaty - even beyond what's expected at a gym. I don't know if the AC doesn't work or if they're just too cheap to run it, but the machines and people constantly going make it feel way too warm in there. Like to the point I'm having to cut my workouts short because I'm just too hot to keep going. So I may end up going somewhere else soon because it's starting to effect my workout regimen and effectiveness since I'm leaving early every single time and never get my full workout in. I'm not out of energy, just tired of being too hot to continue even when in a t shirt and basketball shorts because the management is too cheap to run the AC one single time... Edit 1: now they're also out of wipes to clean the machines after you're done and have been for almost a week. Also haven't seen a worker or manager in I don't know how long Edit 2: now they're also out of paper towels for wiping down the machines with the spray they provide. I dunno what's going on with this place but I prob won't be renewing my contract at this point. I recently started coming here after I found out they opened up a location near me, had a great experience at one of their locations when I visited family in Arizona. Great atmosphere and conveniently located. The equipment and staff are what really makes this place special, with a variety of machines but most importantly several power racks multiple barbells, treadmills, cardio equipment and weights this gym has everything. Overall a perfect balance for everyone's needs. Staff is always friendly and makes an effort to learn your name and will help you towards your fitness goals. In summary everyone is here to get shit done and ALL are respectful in everyone's training style or routine. This place SLAPS hard and I highly recommend it. do not sign uo for a contract without knowing how they work. I am a homeless person who lives in her car and got a membership to be able to shower. the person I signed up with knew I was hesitant to commit to a contract, but she (Taylor) ensured me that I would be able to back out or even pause my membership if I moved away from the area or lived somewhere where no anytime fitness clubs were near. recently I spoke to a member and they said the only way I could cancel my membership was to prove residency that is nowhere near a anytime. I travel for work and live in a van so I don't have proof of my residency since it changes based on where my work is. also their gyms are dirty, and often times the shower is either cold or out of order. so if you only go to shower, it ends up being a waste of money. read more

If I could give this place, zero stars I would. I made two separate appointments with Taylor to be introduced to the gym. Taylor was a no-show for both. Several of the patrons of the gym mentioned Taylor is frequently late for work. There is no full-time staff on premises. The place is not very clean, and I talked to a couple of patrons and they trashed the place pretty badly, I have no interest in joining this particular gym. Anytime Sickness...As the pandemic took over, Anytime Sickness kept charging our account. Don't like exercising in a closed environment with someones nasty aerosols? Too bad. Don't like wearing a mask with your heart rate at 150, huffing as if your face is in a pillow? Too bad. Initially my wife and I kept up the membership before we realized how bad the pandemic was going to get to help keep the people who work there employed, but after 6 months of not being able to come in and work out, we tried to cancel. Ownership basically told us to fuck off. They don't even scrub the air, just limit how many people can come in and work out with a mask. It's nasty, and a health hazard. I was impressed when we signed up, but now we will never go back. These people do not care about their customers. Avoid at all costs. read more

I had a situation where I was almost beat up inside the gym because another member who had been here longer than me started disrespecting me over something so small. All I did was ask this man if the bench went up or down and he ignored me . I asked him twice !! So if you wanna have an experience with a bunch of creeps come on down to anytime fitness. They totally disrespected me , they discriminated me as well . They were on this mans side when he was the on in the wrong !! I'm a man of god I don't start fights with anybody I treat evil with kindness straight up... and the fact the staff members didn't do anything to help this situation which happened twice ! Makes me really sad and I feel like nobody is there for me. This gym only cares about money only about getting new members to join. For example when I first signed up they said if I left a 5 star yelp review they would give me a discount. WOW... they basically make us give a review before we even experience the REAL gym membership that's just WOW. I'm a Latino male as well and I'm a new member only about a month or so and they took this evil man's words over mine ... I made a report right when the incident happened and I called them and left a voicemail. I documented everything .... They say I'm the one who started the fight ... how did I start a fight by asking. I love it here but we seriously need full body mirrors in the restroom, they're waaaay too high/tall for average height so it's inconvenient and are also sort of old..
