    Out of the three Anytime locations I have gone to this is the one I like the most. Very spacious and not too crowded, I go later in the evenings so I can't speak as to how busy it gets during the daytime. They have great equipment for lifting as well as cardio machines. Gym is kept extremely clean, the owner is here a lot of the time and has been friendly the times I have seen him. Also bonus I just discovered the other day, the vending machine accepts ApplePay so I can just use my phone if I need something. Would recommend if the location works for you. Update: after turning this in to my regular gym, I wanted to add that the staff here does an exceptional job. I have a real appreciation for the cleanliness here. In a 24/7 gym that can be a thing that gets disregarded due there not being a certain time you know that a certain price of equipment will not be in use. I frequently see the owner here even until very late hours ensuring that everything is clean and in place. In addition to that, he was very attentive when I mentioned the shower head was loose. The next day I saw the issue had already been addressed

    Except maybe two trainers, all of the staff members were unwelcoming. I did not like the vibe when they were present.

    Great Gym, always clean, never too crowded. Owner Alex is always very pleasant, made it an easy choice. Would recommend.

Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

In the past year…read moreworking out with him as my trainer 3x a week (from February 25-February 26) I lost 15 pounds... now it's May I've lost 20, but honestly, that is only a surface component of the impact I've felt. More importantly, I drink so much less without really noticing, I eat better and I've built muscle and carved out a lean version of me that's much stronger and less achy than the me I've known for so long. I feel stronger and more stable in my body than I have in my adulthood, and it really does make me feel like I have more energy. I think because I do. Nick's approach goes far beyond just "working out." He has helped me improve my stability, mobility, posture, and overall strength in a way that feels sustainable and deeply functional. It's also just so pleasant to work out with him, I never dread the gym because we go hard, but not so hard that you just want to get out of there, and yet the results are still great!One of the biggest changes I've noticed is in my shoulders and neck. I've had long-time sloped shoulders and neck tension that used to bother me by the end of every workday, and now I'm moving through my days essentially pain-free. Nick is thoughtful, knowledgeable, humble, encouraging, and incredibly good at building a program around your actual body, your goals, and your life. I feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected to my body because of his training. I cannot recommend Nick enough!! Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. A year or so ago, I hit 199lbs on the scale, which is heavy for a 50yo, 5'9" tall guy. I was actually tempted to cross the 200lbs at that point, just so I could claim it. It did not happen. Still I stayed in the upper 190, I was not feeling good, and I could barely fit in my working pants...contemplating moving up one size. I have always been active, but at 50yo, I could not find the motivation or discipline to really control the intake. My gutts was there to prove it. So while I was interested and excited about the idea of working out with a trainer, I was also particularly seeking help with nutrition and the mental aspect of eating. What's the point of burning calories, if I am going to kill a pint of ice cream every other night? I think this is where David made a difference for me. In our first call, the conversation was about the food, not the workout. In our early sessions, we talked a lot about nutrition... a lot: What to eat, portion control, anticipating traps of social gathering, tracking calories, etc...And it wasn't all about restriction, it was about finding something that would work for me, and more importanly, something that would be sustainable. His "knive and tequila" give me and my wife some inspiration, and kept the process fun. So for a personal trainer, I thought David was super knowledgable about The nutrition and awareness aspect of food intake. Checkmark. Workout wise, this is fun, and again, I think David is great at finding what I needed to do, where to adjust ( I came with my bag of injuries to work around), and how to get me in a groove. We have adjusted many workout to prevent strain on my lower back. David knows his stuff. For instance, I wanted to do pull ups. In 1 year of crossfit classes, I was still using elastic bands to assist me and was not able to pull myself up on my own. We agree to add pull ups as a goal for our training. In 3 weeks, David got me to do my first unassisted pull up. So workout wise...Checkmark too. David is also a fun guy. Again, his videos are a good examples of his sense of humor. He always greet me with a smile. He can look intimidating behind his beard, but he is a very personable guys and makes me feel welcome in his gym. That was the 3rd checkmark for me. If I want to sustain spending time, money and energy in such an endeavor, it has to be fun, and I have to enjoy whom I am doing this with. Every week, I am looking forward to do our 2 sessions. As I wrote at the beginning of this review, when I leave his place, I am on a high. The other day, I even followed the session with a 1 mile jog. 175lbs today. Not starving. Not miserable. Feeling much better in my pants, and in my head. Now is going to be the hard part: how to stay there and not get the weight back? How to keep it fun? This is where I hope that having David by my side will make a difference.

Please take my word, we feel Better, we look healthier, we are stronger and we are conditioned. Sure, I thought the first few sessions were rough, but he helped us push through and not give up. We are in our late 50's and both had prior orthopedic injuries. But David was mindful of our aches and adjusted the workouts accordingly. The next thing you knew, we looked forward to our workouts and hate ever missing one. We always receive compliments about our fitness and we know David is a huge part of the reason behind that. We started with him in the summer of 2020 to get in shape for our Daughter's wedding that November, but we stayed on because we just feel good about how strong and conditioned we are. I started…read moreworking out with one of the trainers, Lauren (also a good friend of mine, full disclosure here) last July. So basically, you do extremely heavy weights extremely slowly. You totally max out your muscles until you quite literally can't do anymore. And then sometimes, you want to hurl. And often, extremely foul words fly out of my mouth while working out with her. Actually, this morning, as I was doing leg press I think I said "Dang. I sound like a dude" because I did. You know, the big burly dudes at the gym who grunt and sound weird. Me, this morning. I have seen pretty cool results from this. I do weights once a week with her. You heard me - once a week! And my muscles stay really nicely toned. Now, you have to eat right, and do some cardio too, this isn't a magic workout that suddenly gives you a perfect body, but especially if you're a female, building muscle mass is very important. This is a way to do that without spending hours at the gym, or even having a gym membership for that matter. But you also can't be a big wimp and quit. Gotta trust the trainers and push yourself. I lovehate it. But I keep going back so I guess the love wins. Oh and they will work you out for free the first time. So if you're just curious, you can try it out and see what you think. I know, I sound like an ad for this place, but I really think it's good stuff and I feel great about myself when I see that I'm doing more weight, or going longer on a certain machine. And I love that little muscle that runs from my shoulder down my arm that is all nicely defined now!

    I've been working with Ishmael for a few weeks and really loving it…read more The background to how I came to training with Ishmael involves some serious back pain... it started small, but grew more and more painful over time... going to the gym on my own was not helping or even making things worse. After my massage therapist and chiropractor got me walking upright again, I decided I needed some help getting back into the gym because I didn't want to risk injuring myself or having a setback. The training we've done so far has been stellar... not once has Ishmael pushed my back too far, although there were times when I was afraid he had. I'm feeling stronger already, more stable, and less and less afraid of my back having trouble. All of that would be enough, but Ishmael is also articulate, personable, and so cheerful and positive that I leave our meetings feeling so much better not just physically but mentally too. I always resisted the idea of working with a trainer, not the least of which is that it seems their secret goal is to make you look stupid in the gym doing all those weird trainer exercises... but Ishmael trains in a private gym, so everyone there is also with a trainer going through the same thing... AND it turns out all of those weirdo exercises have tremendously useful purposes. So, am I seeing results on the scale - no. But, muscle weighs more than fat. Where do I see the results? In my pants size, bra size, and overall clothing size. Clothes that I haven't been able to wear for a few years are fitting again. I can walk to my car carrying my backpack without breathing heavy. I can take a flight of stairs without being winded. I can sit on the floor and get back up without looking like an overturned turtle. This gym beats other gyms and personal trainers because they give you a new program every 6 weeks. You are given a set of workouts and for 6 weeks, you do those workouts. You can start an exercise with a 5 lb weight doing 6 reps and at the end of 6 weeks, you could be at 10 lbs and 10 reps. You have a written record of your progression. After 6 weeks, you get a new set of exercises. This way, you don't get bored and all of your muscles will get a workout. All the trainers rock. There isn't anyone that makes me feel uncomfortable. Being a woman, that's important to me. If you keep with a regular schedule, you'll see the same people working out week after week. We encourage each other and, after the isolation of covid, it feels good. By far, the best workout experience that I've ever had.
