Unauthorized Billing After Cancellation -- Extremely Frustrating Experience My son left for college, so we canceled his membership with the manager and everything was fully settled. When he visited over the summer, I asked if he could use the gym as a guest for the weekend since I still had a membership. The manager agreed and told us he'd need to sign a waiver and could use his old fob because he no longer had an active membership. He never actually went in to use it. However, not long after that, Anytime Fitness Granby appears to have restarted bi-weekly billing on his canceled membership without our authorization. These charges eventually added up to almost $600, despite no renewal being signed and no notice being sent. Trying to reach corporate was even worse. Their automated phone system won't let you speak to a live agent unless you enter very specific information -- and even then, it kept rejecting it. I had to enter the same information four or five times before the system finally transferred me. This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've ever dealt with. Families and students deserve honest account handling -- not unauthorized charges and endless runaround. read more

Really nice low-frills gym. All equipment is new and well maintained, there is plenty of floor and mirror space as well as other open areas (turf) for functional training. Decent shower/ locker room situation. No complaints! read more

Terrible service! Left several voicemails and nobody ever returns phone calls. Showed up during business hours, and nobody in the manager and trainer office. I even waited for few minutes, and still nobody shows up. read more

This is a great gym. I've been coming here about a year. The early morning before work is busy and between 5-6pm are busy. If you come any other time, especially nights and weekends there is usually only a couple people in it. There have been many occasions I was all alone. 4 stars because it is a bit more expensive than other gyms, and doesn't have any perks like towel service, smoothie bar etc. But it does have absolutely everything you need to get that beach body. You just have to be disciplined. No one is going to make you come in. You have to make that decision yourself. read more

This is a wonderful gym. The trainers and classes are fantastic. The equipment is great. The private showers are clean and fantastic. No more naked old men wandering around a locker room. If you join, I highly recommend getting a trainer. The programs will challenge you appropriately. The gym is clean. The downside of the gym is they seem to have leaky roof issues. Not a fan of this gym. Signed up cause it was so close to my house thinking it would give me motivation to go more often. I went about 4 times in a year. This gym offered nothing- they have work out euiptment and a small area for doing free workouts, and every time I went there was always a class goinG on so I had no room to do my workouts. The base membership was $35 a month and it just offered the gym equipment and 3 free personal training sessions. Everything else was extra. And when I say extra I mean extra $100 a month!!! They offered a FREE 6 week slim down challenge and it was posted all over facebook so I went in to inquire more info- the manager was explaining it to me and I was almost 100% down to sign up u too he told me that you have to leave a $400 deposit and if you don't loose the 25lbs exactly you can't keep the $400.... WHY are you advertising this for free all over when it really isn't free?!?! Such a scam! So after that I just didn't go back to the gym so I called and asked if I could cancel my membership they said no you can come in and sign a paper to put your membership on non auto renewal.... so I paid for 9 months of gym membership for nothing... started a free trial at the YMCA and the woman gave me a free MONTH! So I've been going every day for the past week, this gym actually gives me motivation to go I love it. This is mostly in response to Jered V. I happened to be at the gym the night you are speaking of. You were extremely inappropriate the moment Heather came over to you. She politely and professionally asked your friend to put his mask over his nose, because there were many other members in the same area. At that moment, became disrespectful and vulgar while Heather remained very professional. She explained to you the rules of the facility, when you didn't like what she said you continued to be rude. I actually couldn't take it anymore and jumped into the conversation stating how inappropriate you were while myself, as well as other members were participating in our personal training classes. I am actually glad to see that the staff at anytime fitness are no longer allowing you into the building. You should be ashamed of yourself, not only for your language and behavior, but for the fact that you were not abiding by the rules of the facility as well as the regulations of the state during the pandemic. This being said, Anytime Fitness is following all of the regulations to prevent COVID-19 in their facility. The staff is diligent in cleaning and making sure the members are also following the rules. read more

Do not go to a remote area of the world where you only have access to the internet because you will not be able to cancel your membership. You can not cancel by phone or a letter. $300 later my card is still be charged and until i get back to civilation my card will continued to be charged read more

Anytime Fitness does NOT take responsibility for the incompetence of their employees. I had to cancel my membership a year ago when I move to Boston. When I requested (and told I received) a membership termination, I had continued to have the monthly fee withdrawn for 10 mos. When I caught the accumulating withdrawals I was told it was the previous manager's mistake (apparently one of many according to them) but the current manager and the "higher ups" refused to honor my request for a refund EVEN though they admitted it was an employee error. They treat faithful, paying customers horribly. The temperature is constantly set so high the mirrors fog up. One of the trainers named Heather (short with red hair) stares my girlfriend and I down every single time we work out. Once one of us does something like place a weight down too hard she rudely complains to us. The last time I was there, she decided to yell at me in the middle of my set when my nose accidentally slipped out from under my mask (I have a long nose). I quickly fixed it and explained that it was an accident and asked her not to be so loud about it as there were other people in the gym. At this point she became extremely disrespectful and defensive. At this point some dumb ass who had been eyeing the trainer the whole time jumped in to back her up. This dickhead wasn't even wearing a mask half the time and the trainer let it slide. I wrote a bad review on the gym so they cancelled my membership. Furthermore, one of the owners commented on my review saying that I was making everything up and falsely accused me of swearing at the trainer. None of us even raised our voices until she raised hers. Instead of attempting to settle a dispute between a loyal, paying customer and an unprofessional employee, this company decided to take the side of an employee who took her bad day out on the customers. read more
