Sarah specifically was quite nasty and unprofessional over the phone and in person. They make it seem as if you have signed your life away to join their mediocre gym. I have also heard countless stories of past customers saying they were scammed or charged extra. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Upon arrival, the staff immediately approached me and asked if I wanted to sign up. I told them no, as I already have a membership at Edge Fitness, and I didn't want to sign another contract. Despite this, they kept pushing me to sign up. After we finished our game, they kept bothering me about it. I told them the only way I'd consider it was if I wasn't under contract and could cancel anytime. They figured out a solution where they put me on my friend's account, assuring me that I could cancel whenever I wanted. After about a year, I became frustrated because the gym was poorly maintained--most of the machines were rusted. I decided I wanted to cancel my membership. I spoke to the staff, and they told me they'd contact the cancellation department and get back to me within a week. A week passed, and I heard nothing. I went back to the gym, and they gave me the same response. I agreed to wait another week, but still, no follow-up. After a third visit, they told me that my friend had to be on the phone or present to cancel the membership. I called him, but they made up another excuse. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Why was it so difficult to cancel my membership? I told my friend to take care of it, as I wasn't paying for this anymore. After about a month, he finally managed to get me removed from the account. However, I later found out that they hadn't actually removed me--they'd just frozen my account and started charging my friend again. This place is incredibly shady, and I highly recommend avoiding it. The only reason they have high reviews is because, when you sign up, they pressure you to leave a positive review. If you don't, they'll continue texting and calling you until you do.

The gym is locked 24/7 and only members or staff have access. This makes me extremely safe and at ease when I'm working out early in the morning or late at night and I am one of the few people at the gym. Although the HotWorx app itself could use some updating I do really like that it shows each level you hit based on how many calories you've burned. I feel like tracking my levels and my calories burned compared to the local leadership board motivates me each time I'm in the gym!

Even though HOTWORX has the same requirements, I don't have to wear my mask when working out. My work out is in an enclosed sauna pod, it's just me. I have tried Hot Cycle (sauna temperature is between 125-130f) a 15 minute exercise that normally isn't to difficult then add the dry heat. It is rough. Like a knucklehead after doing Hot cycle, I then tried hot yoga. Mistake, huge mistake. I nearly passed out about 10 minutes in. Hot yoga is 45 minutes and after doing hot cycle for 15 minutes may have been to much. You need an appointment which is easy thanks to their app and its open 24 hours.

Sola used to be perfect- clean, free (included in the membership) fitness classes, fitness trainers ready to assist, a smoothie bar with post-workout snacks, a pool, etc. The gym is very clean, and there is a very large variety of equipment that is available for use. There is an indoor track for running/ walking, that loops around the perimeter surrounding all of the exercise equipment. There are 3 studios for the variety of classes that are offered. These are always clean and well maintained. Yoga mats, exercise balls, cycling bikes, etc. are provided for use during these classes. The locker rooms are sanitary, and are regularly maintained by the staff. Shampoo, body wash, towels, mouthwash, q-tips, lotion, and blow dryers are all provided for use in the locker rooms. On the main floor, through each of the locker rooms, there is a jacuzzi, a therapy pool, and a regular pool with lap lanes. On the weekends Sola hosts family days where small children are allowed to splash around in the pool. Ever since the new management has taken over, there have been some obvious changes- not all necessarily for the better. The first, most noticeable change was a price increase in the membership. If it goes up any more I honestly don't know if the price can be justified. The fitness trainers seem to work fewer hours or are just harder to find. They are definitely knowledgable, and want to work with you and get to know you. There used to be at least 2-3 fitness trainers on the floor at any given time, but today I'm lucky if I can find one! The original instructors for the Zumba classes seemed to be a lot more lively and the classes were more full. There was such a great variety of music that everyone- all ages- could listen to and dance to. I felt like I was definitely getting a workout. Nothing against the current instructors, but i've slowly stopped attending the fitness classes because they've gotten boring. I haven't tried any of the paid classes yet, but maybe that's where all the fun has gone... The most annoying part of the change in new management was their social media/ membership outreach campaign. When I signed up I made the mistake of giving them my cell phone and my home phone. For at least a 2-week period I would get non-stop robo calls about joining Sola. I was already a member! This giant marketing push has really detracted from Sola's core values, and has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Please bring back the old Sola!
