Been in many gyms. This is the Worst ever. Ownership does not care. Equipment is old and always something not working. The Anytime trainers, when they have one, are loud and obscene in the gym. Have to say I worked out here this weekend. This is the oldest Anytime fitness I have been in. It is in bad shape and needs a REDO. The inside needs major makeover along with some new equipment. This is the worst chains of gyms I've ever tried to sign up. I am literally begging to sign up and even tho they have "staffed hours" no one is ever present. Three branches, three separate time frames and none of them have staffed people to sign you up. How tf are they still in business. read more

This gym has slowly gone downhill in the last year. Trainers and members are beyond lazy. The gym is always a mess. Weights and benches are strewn everywhere all the time. No one reracks weights or puts anything back where they found it. I rarely see people wiping down cardio equipment after they have sweated all over it. On the weekends the trash cans are over flowing with trash and there's no toilet paper in the bathrooms. Recently we have had billing issues with them. They have charged us double for our membership. They literally do two transactions. We fight with them each month. Every month we are charged twice for our membership. So instead of paying $80/mo for both my husband and I, we are being charged $160/mo. Never do they apologize for the issue. They tell us it's an issue with our credit card. Yet our credit card company says there's no problem and all of our other auto bill items have no problem each month. Really wish they could get their act together. read more

I am very disappointed with this specific location. I was excited to go to this gym as it was 4 minutes away from home, but it was gross. It needs to be cleaned better. They say that it's "deep cleaned 2 times a week," but the quality of the cleaning is not good- a lot of the machines are grimy- nobody likes feeling grimy at a place where people are already sweating a lot. I've told them in person that the gym is dirty and, oh yeah, well, clean it, and still- the cleaning is not up to par. The main reason I go there is because the ellipticals are all gone now when the roof got water damage from these big storms 3 months ago, and they still have not finished fixing it. There is also not a good place to be able to stretch- their little stretch area is usually taken up by the private coaching sessions, and the group room is not for use if they have classes, so if you need to stretch afterward, there isn't anywhere to do so- and remember the floor is all gross. Also, one time, my coach got there late and was clearly high on weed by the smell and the eyes. Even though I don't personally care, don't do that right before work and get there 20 minutes late. Lastly, if anybody cares about the population, it is mostly an older crowd that goes to this location, so if you're looking for a younger crowd, this specific location is not the place. I am really disappointed in my experience here. I have been a member at all of the big gyms in the Metroplex. I was excited to get a membership here because it is close to my house, open 24/7 and smaller in size. I don't really use most of the amenities the bigger gyms offer. I stopped by last Saturday to see if I could get a quick tour and sign up. The doors were locked so I called the number a couple of times and left a message. Nobody answered or called me back. I thought no big deal. With the pandemic they are probably requiring appts. Went home booked an appt for Monday. I showed up on Monday a few minutes early for my appt. I waited over 20 minutes for the guy that I had an appt with to show up. He never showed up so I left. I am surprised by the lack of interest in my recurring revenue or my membership. I have never visited a gym before where they weren't pushing you to join. Not this place. They could have cared less about my money or time wasted on trying to support their business. I have been trying to get them to stop charging my account for months. I never have once set foot in the facility to workout. And yet they keep charging my account. I have repeatedly asked and demanded a refund and then to stop charging me for something i have never used. This is one of the worst customer service experiences i have ever had with a gym, esp one i never used. read more

-For the most part, the gym is relatively empty, the most I've ever seen is about 7 people which still isn't that much. This was important to me because I don't like the feeling of being judged or stared at. -It is small and has a calm atmosphere so it's easier for you to concentrate. Even though it's small, there's still nice equipment. There are no free barbells so you might have to take it from the bench while it's empty. -There are clean bathrooms that don't smell like poop which is a big plus. -The owner (Bubba) is so friendly and even a little funny. He genuinely cares about my fitness goals. Within a month of joining, he texted me asking if I needed any help with my goals, if I enjoyed the gym so far, etc. read more

Finally found a gym that meets my needs. I'm not a "big box" gym person. Anytime Fitness is just the right size and since it's new, the equipment is first rate. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. In addition to the monthly fee, you have the option to purchase sessions with one of their personal trainers. They have several trainers to select from to find the right fit for you. In addition, the trainers are certified and not just "staff" of the gym. I purchased a few sessions to begin and my trainer is kicking my butt! Which is not the experience I had at previous gyms. Granted, I'm a new member and my opinion could change. I'll update my review if that happens. But, for right now I'm very satisfied! read more

Been a member here since November of 2014... It's a nice, small place and has everything you need for cardio and weight training. Clean place as well. No "lunks" or judgmental folks from what I have experienced. They also have trainers on staff and classes. The new owner, Bubba, seems very committed to keeping this location first class. And, he even offers a monthly incentive for checkins which is pretty cool. read more

Great Gym - New Equipment - Great Staff - Open 24 hours - Lots of classes - Tanning beds - Only thing to mention - there is no place to stash kids if you have to bring them along so keep that in mind. But if you are a busy professional like me who at times wont drop in till 10:30 - 11:00PM then this place is great. read more

I really like this gym. It's clean, well organized, and has a ton of equipment. There's also a large classroom. It would be perfect if it only had a power rack. There is no where to do free weight squats. There's also no free barbells anywhere so I have to steal one from the bench press station and get side eyed by guys who probably wanted to bench after finishing their 7th set of curls, but a girl has to deadlift somehow, right? Anyway, I've never met the owner since I didn't sign up here, but I talked to him on the phone once and he's super nice and polite. So this gym is great for most people but if you prefer 100% free weights it will be hard to get your leg day in. read more

Very poor service, managers are rude and unprofessional. They have "undisclosed fees" written very vaguely in the contract that can charge you several hundred dollars a year, and if you refuse to pay, they ruin your credit. Avoid at all costs. read more

This facility is dark and half the equipment doesn't work including the TV's I don't know how many times I had to switch getting on a different one to find one that was working. I regret signing up for this one. read more

Small and quite club (at least for 7am) which is what I like. Clean and useable equipment although it could use some updating which I think is in the works. Got a new trainer just this past week and although only had one session with Mandy I can tell she is what I needed. Before the first session she took plenty of time to get to know me and what I wanted to get out of our time. She laid out a plan for me and what I could expect for our sessions. First actual session was perfect. She is a motivator first and a trainer second. She taught me technique and kept me focus on that and told my when I wasn't doing it right. I was not able to succeed at one exercise but she knew it was mental and not because I physically couldn't do it and got me over that mental roadblock. Looking forward to more sessions. One suggestion is putting blinds up in front of the treadmill as the sun in the morning is a killer read more

I visited this location today (11-5-2013) and received very poor treatment. Upon entering the sales office, I explained to the staff member that I am from Omaha, and I will be returning there in about 2 months, and I'm looking for a 2 month membership. I didn't get into too much detail about my traveling back and forth between Dallas and Omaha. I didn't think it would be necessary. I was informed of the cost at $35 per month, so essentially I would pay $70 for 2 months. That seemed reasonable. However, the staff member (who seemed to be the only one on hand at the time), showed his reluctance to selling me a membership since I am not a resident here. I explained that I carry a TX driver's license, my mail is sent here, etc. I am truly considered a Texas resident. He curtly said, "But you said you were from Omaha". I didn't know what to say, as I didn't think where I originally come from or my residency status should be an issue. Anytime Fitness is a national company with thousands of locations worldwide. After this conversation, I received a very short tour from a person who was clearly disinterested in my perception of the facility. I hopped on one of the treadmills, and did a short workout. The whole time wondering why the man was so rude. Bottom line is I didn't feel welcome by this staff member at all. He clearly wanted to make my residency status an issue. I don't think that was the real issue. I think since he heard I was interested in only paying for 2 months at the gym, the profits due to my business were lower than a potential member who would purchase a membership of a year or longer. In his eyes, my business wasn't worth the time or effort. To Mr. Staff-Member-Who Made-My-Residency-Status-An-Issue: I was born and raised in Omaha. That is why I said I am "from" Omaha. However, I moved here in 2005 and have been a permanent resident of this state since then. I received my associate's and bachelor's degrees here in Texas over the past 9 years. I have also been consistently employed here in Texas since 2005. The majority of the year, I am living here in Plano. I am a legitimate, tax-paying resident of Plano, Collin County, and the state of Texas. In recent years on occasion, I make extended trips back home to see family, take care of family business, take care of sick family members, etc. That is because my job that is physically located here in Dallas allows for it. I certainly would get less hassle getting a library membership or a membership at one of the City of Plano recreation centers. And I have done both in the past. I shouldn't have a problem in the future, should I chose to do so. I was entertaining the idea of buying 2 months up-front at your facility, and upon my return from Nebraska, buying a more extended membership. Unfortunately, my stay in Nebraska starting in January is anywhere from 3-6 weeks, and I am not entirely sure of my return date. The treatment I received today was extremely poor and I will not come back. read more

I love this gym! It's the best gym I've ever been to! I was looking for a gym that had kickboxing, and I found Anytime Fitness down the street from me. I was so excited that the classes were included with the membership, and I would have 24 hour access to the gym. I have grown to LOVE this place, the people, and the workout experience. The gym is ALWAYS maintained and kept up, including the cleanliness and equipment. There are so many different types of classes, and they are offered at so many different times throughout the week, so you can pick and choose what works with your schedule. If you aren't interested in classes and want to do your own thing; all the resources are available. It's a very friendly and warming environment. My family has been a member here for a little over a year and today I made a phone call to ask about some charges that were pending on my credit card. I will have to say the girl Danielle that I spoke with was extremely rude and acted like she didn't even care that I was a customer. She didn't have time to look my stuff up on the computer. Her attitude honestly wanted me to want to change gyms and I even told her I would be checking out other places and would get back with her. my 5 star rating is based upon the over all experience at ANYTIME FITNESS PLANO . My girlfriend enjoys all the classes they have to offer and the new zumba tone coming in july . for me its pretty basic, i enjoy a clean club , 24hr access and up to date equipment. The club is reasonably priced and has a great staff. I have joined some of those $5 to $19 dollar clubs in Plano and lets just say you get what you pay for. I travel for business. I joined anytime fitness due to the great facilities around the country I would have access to when not at home. I called to verify the Zumba schedule for tonight and spoke with a man who kept saying "my club". Leading me to believe he is the owner. I was told I would have to pay a drop in fee to take the class because I am a visiting member. And he wasn't very nice about it. I have never been told this by any other club I have visited. He went on to tell me he pays his instructors $30 a class. I could avoid the fee if I transferred my membership to his club and paid my dues to him. Hey, he would pay the instructor fee even if I wasn't in the class. CHEAP! It was only $5 but I is the principle. If you are looking at joining a club, I would stay away from this one. These actions lead me to believe you would get screwed out of every penny possible. Terrible customer service. *UPDATE* - I also stand by my recollection of the conversation. I called my home club, in Greer South Carolina, immediately after our conversation. The representatives with whom I spoke to said they had never heard of anything like that. They would proudly allow your members to take their classes as they would be paying their instructors, either way. Perhaps call some more club owners.
