Wonderful gym, very clean, safe facility. The workers are very friendly, and the memebers are all respectful. Machines are rarely ever left broken and the locker rooms are very clean. However, the dumbbells only go up to 75lbs and there are no free weights (when I last went), so to advance in strength training is rather difficult. However I do recommend this gym for a beginner, I would just recommend other ones for those trying to advance their fitness journey. Also this location is 24/7 Yay! read more

Hello to whomever is reading this review. Background - USMC Vet with service related injuries, utilizing this gym for rehab and self improvement. This location particularly has a less than consistent hygiene routine. Dirty equipment, dirty floors, dirty in general, really needs a good scrubbing. To cancel your membership is a rabbit hole of call this location, visit this person, sign here, and by the way you followed the instructions and we can see that you did, but we did not finalize the transaction in our computer. So we just kept charging you. I went in person visiting this location to cancel my multiple year membership, due to moving to a location where a gym is not easily accessible. Was told it was handled and good luck on your move. (2024) Months later still being charged, called the location here in Plano, instructed to call the gym I signed up at originally. Did so instructed to reach back out to Plano. Did so, emailed a confirmation of cancellation. (early 2025) Months Later still getting charged. Called in again sent down the steps previously, with one addition. Text confirmation to x phone number. Texted confirmation to said number. (mid 2025) Finally 2026 is here. Reviewing my bank statements, the charge is still there. I followed their instructions multiple times so went to contact corporate, good luck on that one. Probably easier to get a hold of Musk cell phone than a number for their main office. But you can call the billing company they use. The billing company will not assist you unless you want to update a credit card for their files. finally after many going back and forth with conversation of filling a complaint to the BBB and T-AG for business practices, I get some attention in this matter. I provide the information stated in this review. The owner Sandra, informed by manager of this location, they review (assuming with the time gap in conversation) and denied any reimbursement. This particular facility is owned and operated as a franchise, this franchisee is a true capitalist at all cost, charge every penny you can while providing the minimal amount of services to comply with franchise by laws. If you can access another gym in your local area do so, it is very easy to transfer your account apparently. Just go to another gym a few times and your account magically transfers. read more

I left my customized electronics bag in my locker and could not figure out for days where I could have left it. Called a bunch of stores. No bag. Finally realized I might have left it in a gym locker so I called and it was still there behind the desk. Completely intact! No way..!?! All the wires, chargers, battery banks, my favorite iPad. Staff wouldn't even open it to see if everything was still there. I had to go get it and I did right then and there. Everything was there. I was shocked. Not sure why I was so shocked but I was! I signed a contract for their personal training program for my daughter a month ago after being given incomplete and misleading verbal info. I mentioned several times during and after the registration process that I would have to cancel when school started in August but was not warned at any point about any buy-out fees or told that this program didn't suit my needs. In fact, these fees were only mentioned in full numbers when I handed in a written cancellation letter. Upper management falsely claimed that the personal trainer I booked with explained everything and that a manager was present for the full conversation, which is not true. In reality, the manager wasn't part of the conversation. I have a witness. Their response on Google Reviews only links to a general policy, which does not excuse the deceptive verbal sales tactics or false claims. Another customer's Google review of this location points out similar issues. This violates the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (Tex. Bus. & Comm. Code §17.46(a)): "False, misleading, or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce." After two unhelpful calls with Mark and Mrs. Summer, I've escalated this to corporate and legal channels. Overall, I would say that I had a very poor experience with Planet Fitness Plano. For starters, I would like to say I consider myself to be a pretty optimistic person. But somethings need to be shared. I was a member here for over 2 and a half years and usually worked out about 3 times a week. Here are the pros: The facility is kept clean, membership cost is great, and being open 24 hours is another perk for those needing to work out at abnormal hours of the day. However, I recently canceled my membership here for 2 big reasons. 1. Equipment always seems to be down with no urgency to fix it. For example, this club has 4 stair stepper machines. From the beginning of summer 2024 until January 2025 when I canceled my membership 2 of the 4 machines were broken. This made it very difficult to do a cardio workout I enjoy when half the machines were out of commission. 2. The brand new Crunch fitness opened in east Plano and I pay the same amount monthly for a gym that has more equipment, more weights, and attentive staff housed in a larger location. I used to enjoy going to this planet fitness location a lot before management changed sometime in summer of '24. There used to be a better focus on member satisfaction then, and a focus on prompt equipment repairs. With all that being said, I won't be returning to work out here or renewing my membership. I hope for the PF members that regularly go to this location that this changes. read more

I have been a member of this gym for over a year. I like location, the hours, and the staff has been friendly. The reason for the three stars only is that equipment has been routinely out of service the whole time I've been a member. They have two leg extension machines in the main workout area. Both are currently out of service and have been for a few weeks. One of the two has not been functioning in foreveeeeeerrrrr....I mean months! They have 5 smith machines and at least one is routinely out of service. And for some reason, they removed one of the two leg press machines. Now if I workout during peak hours I have to wait or ask someone if I can work in with them. My wife and I complained about this to the manager, who told us he has submitted requests for repair more than once but is still waiting. read more

This is my local Planet Fitness. It seems that there is always something out of order at this gym, that is the con that immediately comes to mind. However, the pros do outweigh this. The staff is always friendly and I was / have been thoroughly impressed with that. One of the staff even comes and gives me the occasional knuckle bump. No one calls me out by name, but the staff still makes me feel welcome. The other pro is that the gym always seems clean, which is another huge pro. I always see one of the staff cleaning or wiping the equipment down. Overall, it gets a 8.0 out of 10. I won't complain about the weight because you can always just add reps. It's your standard starter gym. read more

They merged with a gym I was a member of and didn't tell me. They simply merged my account over and kept charging me, even though the gym was under renovation and unusable. I moved states in this time and then was unable to cancel my membership over the phone and had to go through a lengthy process to stop the charges. Ridiculous. read more

My son is a member... I went in on guest pass... 6/17.. was.hurt in a car accident early that day... I just wanted to use the massage chair... when my son left to take a shower... I wasn't allowed to to use the massage chair... the attendant said I would have to wait for my person to come back.. he wasn't allowed to let me go back to the chair ( where no one was inside)... Very nice location off the 75/ North Central Expressway. The staff is friendly, the locker rooms are clean and the membership prices are reasonable. The other perks are that there's always something to look at on TV and they're open 24 hours. They have equipment that other gyms don't have but they don't have certain equipment that other gyms The only reason I give them three stars is because they don't have some of the more sophisticated equipment that I'd find at 24 Hour Fitness or LA Fitness where I can focus on specific body parts. That and not totally on board with the company's "no judgement" policy. Trust me.... it can be judgmental. read more

The response below, I was told it was the manager's decision to not enforce it. Perhaps you all should reach out to them. To the owner, isn't your job to ensure the gym is following states mandates on safety? I'm happy to call law enforcement so they can explain it to the manager, and fine the location for non-compliance. These weak responses are why I'm looking to leave PF. First, I want to say that every single staff member I have interacted with at this location has been fantastic. They are truly kind, understanding, and make me feel that they really do want to help. They've even been understanding when I would alert them to members not wearing their masks when there is a state mandate to wear a mask in place. Today is August 16th. I went in after an issue at another location, an employee not wanting to enforce the mask policy. The gentlemen at the front desk for very kind and informing me that apparently policy at this location has changed, they only enforce that people wear a mask when they enter the gym. If you are actively working out apparently you don't need to wear a mask. This is against the State mandate requiring individuals to wear masks. With the large size fans causing mass air circulation, this is the most ridiculous excuse to try and appease members. I understand that people complain that they have to wear a mask, and I really don't care about their complaints when it's a public safety issue. I wear a mask the entire time I'm at the gym, and only remove it when I need to drink water, so everyone else can do it too. But on top of all of that the state mandate states that a mask is required in any business or setting where you cannot be 6 feet apart, amd this is still in place. It has no expiration date and the governor has not ended it. The state mandate supersedes corporate or location policy. While I truly care about the employees, looks like I'll be terminating my membership next week. I can't believe a company, any of them, would be so careless as to care about money over Public Safety. It's a good thing there's a lot of workout videos online for free! Hope Planet Fitness gets itself straight and on the right side of the issue. And for anyone who complains about wearing a mask, I truly hope that you don't get the virus and experience it. I'd been coming here for a very long time. Manager is the most dishonest, arrogant, unsympathetic and I could go on. Assistant manager is arrogant and really feeling himself. He talks poorly to members about other other planet fitness staff. Club used to clean now dirty. Weights used to organized now they are all over. When I say dishonest I am speaking from experience on incident that just happened that has forced me to change gyms. They make me sick. Some great staff however. I am speaking from as a business owner and if what happened to me ever happened with any of my employees that would be it. And they have security cameras that clearly would show exactly what happened. Now mind you, you leave a review about guns not being clean they will physically call you within a few days but when it comes to a serious situation you don't get a response. I am speaking of an item that was in their care that came up missing specifically speaking of the manager once again. Can't speak highly of assistant either. Reached out through their app as recommended, the regional which they won't provide contact info for, google review which they responded to generically with a link to take you back to the app. Next step will be having our company attorney draft up a letter. Very disappointed in Planet Fitness. I cancelled my membership, and as I was in the process of canceling, I asked the staff member to clarify their policy on fees and confirm I won't be charged the annual fee or any other monthly dues. She confirmed I wouldn't. They still charged me the annual fee. I spoke to membership services and explained the situation and they said they will put in the refund request and informed it just takes a moment to process. I followed back up with them a few weeks later just be told that they won't give me one and that they don't give refunds. I left a review and the owner responded with a email to contact to explain the situation. They told me to contact the manager directly at the club to get the refund, which I did. I received a runaround to end up talking with the manager at a different club, for her to tell me they won't give me one and I should have cancelled earlier. This place is a waste of time and money. The gym is clean and spacious. The trainer is positive and encouraging, and the training classes are amazing!

Update. They fixed the problem quickly by turning the volume down. Also I got over the ears blue tooth headphones the killed most ambient sound and let me hear my audio. The employee did tell me that no one had authority to turn down the spud not management and not corporate because it was operated by a third party contractor. The employee agreed it was too loud because we had to shout to hear one another. I had complained about the high volume before I don't blame the employee, but the training program. Been there and made that mistake. Just train folks Bette, don't scape goat them. Otherwise this is the best club I've ever used. Music is way too loud and awful. Headphones are useless because the speaker music completely drowns it out. When you ask them to turn it down they say they can't. When you ask who you can appeal to they say there is no one anywhere even in corporate with authority to do anything about the music. [Original 1 star review] What's the point of having unlimited use of facilities if the person working here goes AWOL for over half an hour so I can't use the massage chairs that require tokens or the hydro massage? [EDIT] I called PF after looking around and waiting half an hour, trying every door I could put my head through and they tried calling the gym and not go answer either. I finally went back to the men's changing room and found her sitting around the corner on her cell phone. Obviously I won't be this girls favorite in the future haha. What really got me was this was my first time using the gym since signing up and really didn't give a good impression. My time is valuable especially at 2am. I want to be done and get home. So anyway, let me do a real review. Planet Fitness is a self proclaimed Judgement Free Zone and has been described as a good beginner gym. They offer a lot of encouragement. I'm just going to talk about the black card membership because it really makes sense over the lower level plan. First off all, when going to sign up and look around the staff offered a friendly greeting. They walked around the gym showing the various areas which include a dedicates stretching and abs room, a 30 minute workout section, a PF360 which has ropes and medicine balls and other stuff, rows of treadmills, steps, and other cardio machines and a full set of weight machines for all parts of the body. The best features are free unlimited use of the massage chairs, tanning beds, if you're into that, hydro massage and some ultraviolet thing that's supposed to be good for the body. There's a lot of TVs and each cardio machine has a headphone socket so you can listen while you glisten :) There's also a usb charger on the treadmill I used. They have free wifi so you can use your Pandora or Amazon Music or whatever without sapping your allotted MB. There are small lockers in the gym area that don't require a lock and also have a USB port so you can charge while working out. Everyone is encourages to use the providers cleaning spray and paper towers to clean down equipment and eliminate that overpowering gym smell some places have. One of the best features, and I'm yet to make use of them, are the free small group training sessions. You can signup online or via the Planet Fitness app, which has its own fun stuff that I'll come to later. Other benefits of the Black membership is that you can use any of the Planet Fitness locations and get the full benefits including being able to bring a guest with you every time you work out (though they don't have the perks like the massage, tanning or training sessions). You also get 50% off drinks and 20% off at reebok.com :) You gain points for things like checking in at the gym, signing up, making a purchase or referring a friend. You can trade points for things like water bottles, towels, or even collect enough for a free month membership! (I'd be happy for you to use my name if you sign up! lol). As for the app, as I mentioned you can book sessions online and manage your account but you can also track your workout. One cool feature is that after your cardio you can take a picture of the summary and it'll upload it right to your account. You can watch videos and also connect to your fitness device or connected app such as a fitbit, mapmyfitness or precor and several others. Overall, this would be a solid 5 star if I didn't have trouble tracking someone down at 2am! It's been a long time since I've been a a gym and I'm finally excited about going! read more

I was on a work trip, wishing to not miss a gym day, and I was fortunate enough to have this location just right down the street. As other esteemed reviewers have stated, this location is brand new, clean and a large location too. Like all other PF locations, it has Black Card lounge, a 30 min workout station, plenty of yellow and purple machines and a friendly staff. When you walk in the reception is directly to your right. Past those is the locker/restrooms, followed by the stretch and ab spot. The machines are grouped well together by workout regions. The bikes and treadmills are in the dead center. Free weights are to your left in the corner. I was there at 6AM on a Thursday and there were maybe 4 others there (plus my 3 co-workers). The size of the place, as well as it all being level with no elevated area, was a bit different than what I was used to, but I liked it. When I got back I was glad to be back at home location, but this one was quite nice and a great place to pop in to if you are in town. read more

So, worked out at a few other locations and this one is just like those, just newer and set up different. There are tons of cardio machines and weight machines. I'm not a fan of using weight machines because they can put your body in a bad biomechanical position. Free weights and proper training technique are usually healthier for your joints. There is a decent amount of space to do my own workout usually, but trying to get time in the dumbbell area can be a pain in the ass. It's small and crowded, especially during peak times of course, it's in the corner as if they forgot about it or it was an after thought. Way too small. But at least the weights have spots that are labeled and have always been in order when I use them. That's amazing! The last PF I used had serious issues with their dumbbell racks and even finding the weights you needed. Not sure if anyone else thinks this, but the foam padding on the benches are rock solid!! Insanely uncomfortable!! Trying to use the decline bench is ridiculous. It literally hurts the back of my knees and calves to use it. It's stupid. The foam should be a lot softer! There is no give on any of the benches, there may as well be concrete under you. The only thing I can figure is that it last a long time and doesn't have to be replaced. Ever. I have been places where the foam is so worn out you feel the wood beneath the foam, so not sure which is worse. A good thing is that there are a lot of different TV's, 20 channels to chose from, which is an upgrade from the last place. And actual sports channels! So you might be able to watch a game you like. read more

I LOVE this gym!! New equipment!! Clean facility!! Great service!! Affordable!! This gym offers so many different and cool things! With the $21 membership you get access to the level 3 tanning beds, which usually cost me $80 a month at a tanning salon. Massage chairs!! The locker rooms are spacious and clean! The music is fantastic. The gym itself has more tv's than most sports bars!! I can bring a friend with me every time I go with my pass! And I can go to all the other Planet tans in the country!!
