Facility was nice. Every time I encountered with the staff they were super rude and snobby.

It's starting to stink. Time to deep clean and maybe open the doors to get some fresh air circulating.

$20 for an all day pass to gym, pool, sauna, steam room, yes please! I went on a Sunday to go lap…read moreswimming when Moana Springs pool had a swim meet going on. I basically have the entire pool to myself and the hot tub. It was so nice, I got 2 miles of swimming in and a nice hot shower. This is definitely a must for Mom to go enjoy herself when she has some free time. 20 bucks is worth it.

I've been a member of the Caughlin Club for four years and I'm what you'd call a heavy user --…read moregoing five days a week religiously that entire time -- so I feel like my review is about as fair and accurate as you'll get. The bottom line is that I went to this gym because it's close to my house, has a beautiful and well kept outdoor pool that's heated year round, and a traditional sauna which is somewhat hard to find these days. But the reality is that I didn't use those amenities very often. What I did use often was the weight room and the woman's restroom. I can say with confidence that the weight room is substandard, bordering on dangerous, and the woman's restroom is also substandard and generally unclean. Neither Marlene, the manager, nor the main staff are very pleasant or friendly. Marlene seems to pick the members who she likes and I've never been on that list for whatever unknown reason. I'm largely ignored by them all unless they need something from me. I once overheard Marlene asking another staff member about me one day when I accidentally spilled my water and asked for a towel to clean it up. The younger staff are much friendlier and more helpful. Back when they had a suggestion box, I filled it out often asking basic things like, why don't you get a hand dryer in the women's restroom that actually works instead of providing Kleenex to dry our hands (I'm not kidding), or why not provide updated leg machines that every other gym has so I don't have to spend several minutes setting up or fighting over the single Smith machine. They eventually took away the suggestion box. I'm comfortable financially so I don't mind the $130 monthly membership if I'm getting value, but obviously I don't feel like I am. Each February we pay an additional $150 for general maintenance that goes to pool upkeep or a new sauna heater which I understand are needed. But then it goes to painting the weight room. Not needed. It doesn't go to getting new weight room equipment which hasn't been updated since the 1990s. Or apparently providing basic cleaning supplies for the restroom. Did I mention it's always 75 degrees in the cardio and weight rooms? I don't even keep my house that warm. Wait until summer when it's 85 degrees in there. There were two last straws which caused me to cancel my membership. The first was that the maintenance man always seemed to find himself in the women's restroom/locker room in the morning when I was working out. From time to time I use the restroom or wash my hands after using the equipment or holding the weights and there he'd be, lurking. The second straw was much more serious. One morning, when I was doing my laborious hip thrust set up, because we don't have any leg machines or hip thrusters, I was carrying one of the old fashioned weights from the 1990s era weight racks (which is sharp on its end) onto the Smith machine (also from the 1990s) and I nearly cut the tip of my finger off. Blood was pouring from my finger tip so I grabbed a tissue that I had in my pocket, gathered my things, and hurried up the steps and out of the gym. I was going to tell someone at the front desk on my way out that I was sorry, but they'd have to clean up my blood and sanitize the equipment. But as usual, no one was at the front desk. I can't take it anymore. I'm done and going to Anytime Fitness off Caughlin Parkway. That gym isn't fancy, but it's got updated equipment that feels safe and the restrooms seem pretty clean and private. And so far, I've been treated like they're happy I'm there. That's a big step up from the Caughlin Club.

I had the privilege of working with Jamie, and she has been absolutely fantastic. She's incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and knows exactly how to challenge you while still making every session enjoyable. She took the time to understand my goals, adapted workouts to meet me where I was, and always created a positive, motivating environment. I never felt judged, only supported. One of the things I appreciated most was how personalized the experience felt. It was clear that my progress mattered, and Jamie celebrated every win right alongside me. If you're looking for a place with experienced trainers who truly care about their clients, I would absolutely recommend giving them a try. Pro's: A clean studio with the Cadillac of reformers and an excellent instructor who is dedicated,…read moreshows up and cancels class rarely. Con's: None Go back?: Regularly More... I started reformer Pilates in March of 2018 to try to relieve the symptoms of chronic plantar fascitis and to find a method of exercise that would build strength and balance as I head into my 50th decade. The results were excellent however, I had to move on from that studio for other reasons I will not go into here. I tried the Pilates at Double Diamond Athletic Club...this is not true Pilates. Aside from 1 instructor, the others are personal trainers using reformers as gym equipment. The "mind/body" connection is lost also because there are loud aerobic classes going on nearby. I found Lisa W. at Mind Over Movement and I am very happy. I did not know a reformer could be so solid, smooth and just FEEL it was made with great quality. Lisa's teaching and queing is excellent. The music she plays is spa-like, allowing you to get into the "mind" of the movements you are executing. I had never used the towers before and that is an awesome add to the reformer. I also feel Lisa's pricing is fair. I buy the 6-pack. Paying in advance for 6 classes is good pricing AND MOST ESPECIALLY, I never have to worry about making up classes I may have missed due to my own schedule. Additionally, there are two restrooms that are oversized and CLEAN...perfect for changing clothes before/after class. She also has mini bottled water on hand that she does not charge for. Caution though...don't take advantage of this as a freebie. BYO water and use theirs only if you need. Be a courteous student! See my other reviews on other Reno Pilates studios. I highly recommend this studio. Give it a try!!!

Visited Reno for the weekend and was looking for a fully equipped gym to get my workout in…read more Stumbled upon this place via google. The owner, Matt, was quick to respond when I gave the gym a call and provided amazing customer service! He even swung by the gym and introduced himself. Gym is fully equipped with several cardio machines (stairmaster, bikes, treadmills), free weights, benches, turf area, cable machines, resistance machines, two squat racks and much more. In addition, for an extra cost, you can have access to their Recovery Room which has infrared saunas, compression boots for lowerbody (I believe hips too), and massage guns. There are also small lockers that are available for use during your workout. The gym is very clean and all of the equipment is well-maintained. This is my first time at a privately owned gym and I can see why people lean towards em. If you're local, I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out and getting a membership. I will definitely be coming back here anytime I'm up here visiting! Thanks again, Matt!! Other notes if you've made it this far in the review: gym is easy to find, parking wasn't an issue on a Friday morning, music plays in the gym at an appropriate level in case you forget your headphones lol, they have a built-in water dispenser, sanitizer wipes are conveniently placed everywhere throughout the gym and are well-stocked, a lot of natural light coming through the windows, has a lot of other workout equipment that most gyms don't have. For the rest, you'll just have to come and check it out yourself! Again, HIGHLY recommend this gym!
