Massage time! I threw my back out and Shannon was a life saver. She is fantastic! Tentative, caring, and the rooms ambiance is perfect. As a busy mom I am so grateful for a gym who offers this service where I am able to come get a massage while my kids play in the daycare area. Parkway is great at maintaining their gym locations and they maintain a good atmosphere. Sad to say I have received rude treatment at other gyms around town, but never at a Parkway location I tend to use the gym much more often during the winter when outdoor adventure is a bit chilly. read more

PAC could be one of the top gyms in the Truckee Meadows. However, it is, in most cases, the reluctance of management (?) to meet the needs of its members can cause problems for its members: Shower soap dispensers clogged, Towels are not often available, Paper towels and soap dispensers empty. Dirty showers, Telephone not connected in locker room area. I have been a member of this gym since the YMCA closed it's doors, it was always well stocked, well managed and clean. The previous companies were customer oriented and it was obvious. I have hope that the PAC team will take notice and make positive changes in favor of their members. read more

Decided to check out the Parkway Athletic Club at St Mary's. I didn't realize that with my South Reno membership, I could also attend the club downtown. What a treat! It seems smaller and less crowded, which A+ in my books. I attended the cardio dance class on Saturday morning and it was a lot of fun. Clean, organized, less busy. Less crowded pool. Parkway Athletic Club at Saint Mary's is clean, with friendly staff and plenty of strength equipment. Cardio machines are noticeably old, and weekend hours end at 5 pm, which is inconvenient. At $70/month the price feels too high for what you get. Also, when I went to cancel my membership, the staff member did not mention the 30-day advance notice requirement at all--so I was charged for an extra full month unexpectedly. read more

Was impressed with the size of this gym. It has all the services you can want you can get personal trainers. They have scheduled classes. They have a pool and water aerobics. Nothing here you don't need I enjoy going. It's busy but not so busy that you can't find an equipment to use. read more

The facility is clean and orderly. I took the water fitness class. The instructor was friendly and professional. She explained the routines as we did the exercises. Almost all the people in the class are seniors. She was good about not pushing the participants beyond their abilities. The women's locker room was pretty clean. The lockers are difficult to use. The buttons on the combination locks don't all work the same way. I asked another member and she showed me how to lock the locker. So I did it the same way on another locker and it didn't work. They should show new members how to use the locks. Other than that, I recommend this gym. It's great for locals. read more

I've been working out here for three months with trainer Chris Cenizal and have seen incredible performance changes. Adaptations that would put me as an outlier in any randomized controlled trial. I've also had sessions with Alex Wilson and Abdul Ghaffary and can vouch for their technical understanding. But it's not just the the technical expertise that makes this place great. I've been a ski coach for over 20 years and an examiner for PSIA for almost a decade, which makes me fairly qualified to assess the teaching and people skills of coaches; and this crew knocks it out of the park! We've had such a great experience with the swimming classes at Parkway St. Mary's. We truly like all of the instructors -- they are patient, professional, and great with the kids. We especially love Reese! She makes the classes fun and fast-paced while still helping the kids improve so much. She really brings out the best in them and keeps them excited to learn. This place is wonderful. We have tried other swim places which have been overcrowded and understaffed. This one by far exceeds expectations. It's not just one teacher with six kids. It's six kids with four teachers in the group classes. The teachers are very knowledgeable very good with the kids. One of my kids (6year old boy) was very scared of big bodies of water and in one summer is swimming! We are so thankful to this group of teachers. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Love this gym! I rejoined after 10 years upon returning to Reno. There are so many classes! Water aerobics the very best.

I was a member of this club when it belonged to St Mary's. The instructors were dedicated to the clients and did an amazing job. The women's locker room was extremely clean. The lap pool was available for a large part of the day and many swimmers were attracted to this gym because of this. The equipment for the classes was plentiful. Now, under new management long needed maintainence has been performed but the cleanliness had gone by the wayside. The women's spa has built up scum on the corners, the sauna hasn't been swept out in month's (evidenced by an ear swab and tissue under the bench) and the rubber squares on the floor are a trip hazard. The showers had knats fliying around in there and their was pink mold building up on the shower walls. Lap times have decreased die to swimming classes. The instructors are not as good as the ones we had before with the exception of Jon, who is still providing 5 star service and the yoga instructor. Two of the water aerobics instructors I've had are not engaging and cannot be heard as the don't wear a microphone. They seem disinterested in being there. There isn't enough equipment for the yoga and fit classes. With that said, most of the staff in the front office are outstanding! They great you coming in and say thank you as you are leaving. Hope this review helps improve areas where needed. read more

Their central air/heating frequently isn't working. My favorite trainer, Hope Davis, gave her two weeks notice. Come time for my workout, she wasn't there. They had told her not to come in anymore. Management at this facility is a joke. Do not get a membership here. read more

I signed up for 7 day trial period to take membership. I wanted to use steam room and sauna. Never worked, no communication and no board at all. Finally they said it is broke and going to reset and see. I was waiting in steam room half an hour and left. While she saw me leaving then she said she forgot to reset it. and steam room having very bad smell. Total time waste. I have not seen lazy and irresponsible employees. They have to have sense the that about other's valuable time as well. Worst management. read more

Maddy and the entire team are absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough good things about the swim program. My children love coming to swim lessons and ask daily if it's a swim day. They are thriving and improving leaps and bounds. The coaches are so kind and patient. You can tell they have a passion for teaching kids to swim and keep safety at the forefront of everything. From the time the kids enter the pool to the time they come out they are constantly working on skills big and small and have giant smiles the entire time they are in the water! The employees make each member feel welcome, the facility is clean and organized and equipment is kept up to date. I really feel at home here, even the members are top notch!
