What a wonderful space to work out & work on yourself! This location is filled with nothing but positivity and comfort which can be hard to find for some in a work out environment. There is no harsh pushing only patient guidance and others motivating you with so many smiles. The owner was my first instructor for a class I had never tried before. Being a complete novice it was such a relief to not feel so overwhelmed that it was off putting or made me feel like I didn't want to or couldn't do it. The opposite, they helped make me want to push hard all the way to the end and do it all right! Every instructor so far has been SO kind and patient. Kaia FIT midtown is in a great spot in the heart of midtown. The space allows for intimate group classes with a focus on what is your hard - I have enjoyed the cross training classes with Carla and even got to experience a black light yoga class with Coach Allison. Overall they offer different workouts that focus on different parts of your body so each class is a new level for you to step up to. Kaia Fit Sierra is such a cute gym! My friend and I have booked a few classes through ClassPass and I always enjoy my classes at Kaia. It's in a basement, which can get stuffy but they always have the fans blasting and fun music going! I enjoy it personally so I'm not sweating and wheezing in front of a large wall of windows looking out into midtown. The classes I've attended are usually quite small, and the instructors are so sweet and encouraging, which really creates a supportive comfortable environment. They also ensure everyone has proper form, which I appreciate, and offer alternatives or modifications for different skill levels or injuries. I am a big fan of Kaia Sparks and always looking for an excuse to go to Midtown, so when I heard that the new owners had purchased that branch I did not hesitate to check it out. Since I hold a Kai VIP Membership that has a spot reserved at my preferred class time and location and unlimited access to 3 locations, Kaia Fit Midtown is a favorite of mine. Same great workouts and awesome coaches only in the heart of happening Midtown. It is currently under remodeling but open for business. The remodeling promises to be very cool. The Midtown studio is very unique, because it is in a basement, which makes it nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of Midtown. It has a dressing room, plenty of cycles, and lots of room to do group exercises. The fact that it is in a basement allows for fun glow classes from time to time! They have lots of yoga/pilates classes. You need to give yourself plenty of time to get parking sometimes, because the studio has a shared parking lot. read more

Kaia FIT Sierra has been my favorite workout place since moving here from the east coast three years ago. What I love most about this location (there are 2 other locations - sparks and west reno) are the coaches and the women I workout along side with. They are all motivating and keep me coming back. The workouts are all different! They offer cross training, TRX, yoga, barre, LIFT, a lunch crunch cross training class, and spin. I find myself always being challenged by the workouts and I never get bored. Boot camps are offered 3x a year and they are lifechanging. I'm a regular at the Kaia Fit Sparks/ Spanish Springs location but there are times I like to come to Midtown. The owners are the same and my VIP membership gives me the option of choosing any of their four locations. Neither of these two locations is very far from where I live so I can choose times and classes that work for me. I especially love the Lift class offered at the midtown location on Saturdays. I've noticed a big difference in my muscle definition since adding Lift to my regular class schedule. The location was recently remodeled and is beautiful inside. The floors are comfy and clean and new. This location like the others also offers, yoga, TRX, running classes, and strength and cardio classes too. Kaia is more than a gym though. It's like a sisterhood. You will make friends and meet people who will encourage you. I definitely recommend it. read more

One night running from the cops I was having a hard time climbing the fence into my backyard to safety. I thought to myself that I need to get into shape in case I get into a jam or the inevitable zombie apocalypse or alien invasion that takes down humanity occurs. I want to be able to make it home in time to put on my banana suit so that when I do become a zombie, those surviving might get a kick out of seeing one in a banana costume. Or if it's aliens, I'll be dressed in my best gear to greet them and tell them all about this really cool fruit they should try. So I go to your classic gym and a can't stand it. I do a thing here and a derp there, but nothing that will get me into shape enough to meet my fence climbing and stamina goals. Then I found Kaia! As a natural lazy person, I thrive off of anyone else's motivation for anything. Therefore Kaia is the boot camp boot fit my lazy bones needed to actually make a change. You show up, do it and then it's over. 50 minutes to not think about anything but your own body and how close to death you feel. Then it's over. You stretch, get into your car and you are either blissed out and ready for bed, or pumped up and ready for action. For me, it works. I'm convinced that no clothes actually are made for me no matter what size me or the clothes are (I've done extensive research and women's clothing is for sure a scam). Therefore when I'm jumping about and working this jiggle monster of a booty around, my shirt comes up, my pants come down, my clothes are in constant motion of undressing themselves. At Kaia I can put it all aside because I know all these other badass goddesses are going through the same thing and don't really care if my buttcrack is on display during a goblet squat, or if my tummy makes a guest appearance during a power jack set. I'm comfortable. I'm there. I'm doing it. read more

I've tried many gyms, crossfit, motivating my own practices at home, and none can hold a candle to what Kaia offers. I didn't think I would care if a gym was coed or not, but it really makes for a comfortable environment. My sister and I have been going for several months now and in just the past six weeks alone have lost 22 lbs collectively (I lost 7, she lost 15!) and several inches each (by eating healthfully and NOT dieting). The workouts aren't easy but I was amazed at how quickly I rose to the challenge and enjoyed it. I have visible muscles now and feel like such a badass. I'm hooked! The coaches are thorough and will cater to you if you let them know what you need. My form for example needed some correction. They switch up coaches as well as workouts so you're always doing something different. Modifications are offered, because we're all on different levels of fitness, and some have injuries they need to be mindful of. First class is free and from what I've seen it's just as good or better than competitive prices. You're basically getting a personal trainer and a support system in one. I'll admit, I was pretty hesitant to give Kaia a try. I figured it would be like Curves or some sort of Zumba thing- which I'm sure are great for some people, it's just not my thing. As a former college athlete, I needed a challenge... And boy, did I get it! Kaia is awesome! It's a great program for anyone, from couch potatoes to über athletes. Not only are there different types of workouts (strength, cardio, yoga and yep- even a little dancing), but more importantly, there are different levels and modifications that make every exercise, set or move doable for women at any level of fitness. Coaches are motivating and push you to your limits, as do the other women in the class. I bought a Groupon for the Brik bootcamp. I'm 3 weeks in, and I've loved every single minute of it. Well maybe not during the minutes, but after I have. They work you hard, but motivate you to do your best for you. All the coaches are super helpful, friendly, and some of the sweetest ladies I've encountered. There is plenty of support to help you make it through your program, and help with food and meal planning. Any question asked gets answered. The coaches cater to any injury you may have and provide alternatives if your body is unable to move in a certain way! I'm definitely addicted and will become a VIP Kaia girl! read more

What I love most about this gym is the variety of women who come: women on day 1 of their fitness journey, new moms (there's a play area for kids!), seasoned fitness professionals, and women of ALL ages. It's truly a place where a woman can feel welcomed and powerful no matter what stage of life she is in. My second favorite part is the periodic BRIK boot camps. They help to motivate and push you further than you would with a regular, unchanging routine at another studio. I have been going to Kaia for the past 7 months and I have to say it's AWESOME! I have never been a regular gym-goer in the past and this is the first time in my life that I've worked out consistently. Kaia makes working out easy (although the actual workouts are definitely NOT easy) by planning all the work outs for you. All you have to do is show up. I'm able to do things now that I never thought I'd be able to do (like a head stand and running a 5k). I also really like the sense of community you get with Kaia. You get to know people in your class and build friendships. One of the biggest perks is that Kaia is a holistic program. You get cross training, yoga, running, and nutrition guidance. I bought a voucher for the 5-week core session through Living Social. Best decision I've made in a while! The coaches are great. They really push you to work your hardest without pushing you beyond your physical limits. Today is only day 3 out of 20 but I absolutely love it! I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for some motivation to get active, stay healthy, and/or lose some weight. If you're not a morning person (like me), it might help to get a friend to do it with you and carpool so that you have no excuses to not show up. It's really worth showing up to every class even if you're hurting. My muscles were extremely sore after the first day (I'm not completely out of shape, I run 4 miles 3-4 times a week) and I was praying that we would be taking it easy on day 2, but no chance! I was hurting after day 2 but today (day 3), I feel so much better. Not to say that my muscles aren't still extremely sore but it gets easier and you really start to feel better overall. Currently, the only sessions they have are 5AM or 6AM. I was talking to one of the coaches and if there is enough interest for other class times, they will be opening more sessions. The 6-week session are Monday-Friday and the 5-week sessions are Monday-Thursday. I will definitely be enrolling in more sessions in the future! read more
