This location is disgusting. I'm not sure if there is a plumbing issue but the women's bathroom smells terrible and is constantly dirty. The toilets in all bathrooms are rarely cleaned and yesterday there was poop on the floor that had definitely been there for a while bc it was dried to the floor. The manager is at this location most of the time which is why I am confused as to why it is so dirty. The floor in the free room is always so dirty. Every time I leave this location, the bottom of my shoes are sticky. There is a bin of items in the free room that should be put in an office as there are TWO offices. They use reusable towels here which are sometimes damp when put out-this is a health concern as bacteria is spread easily this way. The manager also walks around without shoes sometimes. I was a member for nearly 2 years and regretted my membership the whole time. Changed management constantly, the cleanliness of the gym was totally lacking and the current management is awful. I cancelled my membership and they proceeded to charge me two more times than they said would happen. I joined this place pre-Covid and loved it. I was able to pay all upfront so as not to have any problems if I wanted to cancel. My membership lapsed during Covid, so a while later I went in to rejoin. This time I was told I couldn't pay all at once or if I did it would be a lot more expensive. I know, HUGE RED FLAG. But because it's so close to my home, I joined. When my contract was up for renewal, it took me a while to make sure I was not charged anymore. It wasn't easy. NOW, this place is going through old contracts and is trying to start charging me again 3 months after my non renewal form was complete and documented. I can see by other reviews Collin was not truthful when people were trying to cancel. Someone named Marcus is now reaching out by text trying to tell me my account is still active and is trying to charge my card. His response to me sending him my non-renewal documentation was to email me my old contract saying I am now month to month. No one has reached out or tried to charge me in 3 months!! Since I'm unable to show you the video footage I took screenshots of my encounter with the Manger Colby at the location 819 W Arapaho Rd Richardson, TX 75080United States. I came in today to give my key fob back to the location I signed up. I was told by Colby that my account was cancelled in June because I have not been making payments. I then told Colby that my account was transacted on December 29th and that couldn't be possible because they are still charging me nor have I called to cancel in June. At this point Colby then proceeds to tell me that "you must be getting charged from someone one else because your account has been cancelled." He then showed me the screen on his computer. I then showed him proof that I was charged by a time fitness. He then stated give me you name again.. at this point I'm a bit confused on what's going on and I gave him my name again. He then stated "oh you have an account at the cedar hill location and you have been transferred" I stated how can that be without my consent. He stated we don't need your consent since we're a franchise mind this location is at least 45mins to an hour away. I then told him I just want to make sure my account is cancelled I have already given Colby my Key fob. He then stated that "YOU ARE NOT ARE CUSTOMER HERE ANYMORE YOU NEED TO GO TO CEDAR HILL TO SORT THAT OUT." He was unwilling to provide me with a number for corporate when I asked for a number because his service was poor and he did not want to help me resolve my concerns at all! He then DEMANDS that I leave his office without corporates number because he is getting tired of me asking. I started to record him because he became irate and stood up coming towards me as I am sitting down in his office to forcefully remove me from his office. I then stated "DO NOT TOUCH ME"! I asked for his full name and a number to his corporate manger he refused by ignoring and coming closer to remove me from his office. I then told him again "DO NOT TOCH ME" I'm within my r right to ask for the corporate number. He stated you can find it on your bank statement. I advised it's not there. I then asked him why can't you just provide it to me. He then comes back in to the office and gives me the cedar hill location number instead. I stated that's not what I asked for I need corporates number do you have the number yes or no. He continues to ignore me and yell then proceeded to come back in to his office to forcefully remove me yet again & when I told him "DO NOT TOUCH ME" for the third time he decided to call the cops. At this point a customer came in and I proceeded to ask the customer a question for advice. I politely asked the customer is it okay If I ask you a question sir. He said yes. Colby then storms out of the office as he is on the phone with the 911 and YELLS GET AWAY FROM MY CUSTOMER. He then tells the Customer "DO NOT TALK TO HER"! The customer looked stunned by his irrational behavior and asked me "how can I help". I proceeded to tell him what happened and asked him if I am in the wrong to ask for corporates number if your giving terrible service..etc he stated no it's within your right. I then decided to take the cedar hill number and never come back to this establishment. The sticky note that Colby left for me to have was in his office on his desk near the chair I was sitting at and as I am attempting to go in the office. The door was completely open & While Colby is still on the phone with 911 he then proceeds to close shut half of my body through the door at this point I took a step back because it was clear that he didn't care if her hurt me or not, and then he closed my arm in the door as I'm trying to release myself. Then the innocent standby stated I should call the cops because he seen what he did. I called the police and by that time the police arrived from Colby's call. I then told them everything that happened & the police were able to get corporates number for me from Colby once they arrived. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had !! The management at this gym was too inept to cancel my membership correctly and wound up ripping me off for 5 extra months. I cancelled my membership, in person, at the club, and turned in my fob. But at the time the manager said he couldn't give me a receipt because "the system was down" whatever that means. I called back a week later though and he confirmed it was cancelled, so I foolishly took his word for it. Well skip ahead 5 months later and I'm still getting charged. I call the manager and he says he remembers me cancelling and doesn't know why I'm being charged, but still just says there's nothing he can do and it's on me to call the billing company. The billing company says they have no record of a cancellation. I tell the manager that and he just hemhaws and defers and ultimately refuses to give me any written statement confirming my cancellation (probably because he realized he just messed up and never submitted it properly). So I have to go through this multi-week process of calls and sending certified letters with the billing company to get them to stop charging me. And because the manager dodged giving me a recipt I'm just out of luck on the 5 months of extra fees they've managed to steal. Do yourself a favor and pick any other gym. If you're already at this one, don't leave without reciepts or your likely to get ripped off. read more

The gym itself is fine - nothing fancy, BUT GOOD LUCK IF YOU EVER WANT TO CANCEL. In June of 2020, I began calling to attempt to cancel my membership. I was told that I could not cancel over the phone, that they WOULD NOT email or fax me the cancellation paperwork, and that I MUST come into the location to sign cancellation paperwork (despite there being a global pandemic, and me not be comfortable going into the location). On July 1, I went into the club to sign the cancellation paperwork. I signed the paperwork and was assured that my membership would be cancelled. I continue to be charged each month, and I've called the club twice to complain. They say they have no record of me coming in to sign the cancellation paperwork, and that I need to come in again and sign. I was told I would receive a call back from the owners, and that did not happen. I called the parent company, and they also refused to do anything without a signed cancellation form. Today, I went into the location to sign a cancellation, and Tim, the guy in the office WAS NOT WEARING A MASK. Despite me wearing one and my obvious discomfort with this. I filled out my paperwork in the lobby, rather than sit in the office with this unmasked employee. I told him that they'd made this really difficult for me, and he just shrugged. Key fob was returned after I was on the 7-day free trial. I don't know why the explicit request for some sort of proof was denied by the manager. I don't understand why we should be denied of a documented proof that protects us from a potential undue credit card charge. Mistakes happen all the time. If Anytime Fitness were to mistakenly charge me for the key fob, what proof do I have for myself? They make you sign an agreement that you will be charged $64.94 if you don't return the key. But where is our proof that we returned the key? I don't want to take someone's word that things are taken care of. I want a WRITTEN PROOF. The PROOF could be literally anything that says "we received the key." It could've been a handwritten note with the manager's initials. They make you sign stuff and take your credit card info, but they cannot be bothered to provide anything that protects you from their mistake. read more

The gym itself is fine, has all the basic equipment but nothing high tech or fancy. Best thing about this place was Amber who went out of her way to provide great service, but I'm pretty sure she is no longer there. Onto my main note: management/owners here are completely focused on $, at the expense of their customers. I had my key fob stolen while I was at the gym. There are logs showing that someone else had been using it (until one of the employees turned it off recently) immediately after it was taken, and they were usually it daily and during hours I would not normally go. The response that was pushed down and relayed to me was along the lines that insinuated I was lying and lost it. Fantastic customer service. Now the owners want me to pay $50 for a replacement fob because "they have to eat the cost to buy them", and didn't even offer to meet halfway or any of the way. I've also lost money on my side, as I get charged monthly but haven't been able to go work out. This is absolutely ridiculous. If you're so focused on profitability, you should think about long term profitability and the happiness of your customer base. Was it really worth it? Peeps, take yo money elsewhere - even another Anytime Fitness. Owners here clearly don't value their customers, and as you can see from other reviews here - you'll have a negative experience inevitably at some point. read more

Disgusting bathrooms. I don't think they have a cleaning service like the Audelia location, so it's up to the manager to clean the bathrooms whenever he feels like it. Days go by with no toilet paper stocked. The air vents are clogged and haven't been cleaned in years. Come here on a Monday and the bathrooms are completely wrecked from 3 days of no cleaning. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a year now. My original contract started January 5, 2019 and expired on February 4, 2020. I notified the gym manager on January 7, 2020 that I would not like to renew. However, the renewal was still processed and I have been incorrectly charged since then. I have tried to resolve this issue multiple times throughout the year, but yet I continue to be charged. Since I started my membership, there have been 4 different gym managers. This has made getting resolution almost impossible. Further, when I did talk in person with one of the managers, he indicated my contract had been renewed for 3 years, which is patently false. I can only assume there are bad intentions behind this relationship and that Anytime Fitness intends to extort as much money out of me as they can. As of the writing of this review, I am still being charged on a monthly basis and I am now owed almost $500 for charges that should NOT have occurred. What a great facility! Lot of room to work out. Nice variety of station work outs, free weights and cardio machines. They even have a media room where you can take different virtual classes. AVOID THIS GYM! YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL NEVER END. The gym itself is fine, but the general manager, Tim Galloway, will make your life a living hell if you ever try to get out of your membership. I stopped my membership from renewing in May, but they renewed it anyway without my authorization. I've been charged every month since. I've spoken to the manager multiple time, and every time I'm told there's a different process to cancel. I've signed the cancellation paperwork and had it confirmed to me multiple times that my membership would be cancelled & I'd be reimbursed for the unauthorized payments. Tim and the gym's financial servicer, ABC Financial, keep running me around in circles and lying to me about my cancellation & reimbursement. It's been 5 months since I first contacted them. My membership is still active, and I'm still getting charges. I put a stop payment on them through my bank, and now they're saying I owe late fees & services fees due to the charges being denied. Those late fees are being applied to payments that I've already made! I've reported the gym & Tim Galloway to the TX Attorney General, the Richardson PD Fraud Department, and the Better Business Bureau. This gym is a scam, and they're being purposefully fraudulent. Avoid them at all costs. There are plenty of better, more client friendly gyms in the area. read more

Very ruthless unethical operations. If you sign up with them they will torture you for your bank account number. They can manage with your credit card but they will insist on bank account. They have well trained crooks who will lie blatantly with a straight face . After a year of membership as per contract I decided to end it. Submitted cancellation in person ( picture attached) to the trainer Maurice Williams on October 08th 2019, who almost threatened me that if I don't fill up a stupid survey form they cannot cancel my membership. Finally what I feared happened, they continued charging my credit card. Anticipating this move I had called the credit card company- and had made a stop payment. Then these suckers started calling me as if they had inherited my credit card and it's their right charge my card. So far I was keeping quiet, though I got several calls from newly appointed trainers begging me to come back. Finally today they asked me for this review by making a collection agency call me. I simply laughed at them and decided to give this high rating review about these suckers- Hope it helps to go down. I really wish they never get any client even after all this Covid -19 is over. Joining the gym is easy but, canceling your membership is a nightmare. I joined the gym before it was official opened and Amber the "manager" was always nice. I did notice that they could never keep a trainer on staff for more then a couple of months. Hmm I wonder why?Also, if their were certain free events the gym was having I would get the email the day of the event. Great way to make sure no one shows! Months ago I needed to cancel my membership because I was moving and was told by Amber to call a phone number and they would handle the canceling of my membership. Which I thought was odd because my fiancé was a member at the Fort Worth location and he had to fill out paper work when he canceled his membership. Between moving into my new place and work I didn't get around to calling that number til a month later. (Caching Anytime) I call the number and the lady was so nice but tells me they do not handle the canceling of memberships. The lady calls Amber and Amber tells her I have to come in to cancel my membership. Huge inconvenience for me! I moved and Amber tends not to get to the gym til 10am on a good day. I drive to Anytime and Amber gives me some BS about how it was a miscommunication. I believe she just wanted to drag out the fee that I pay monthly. I think it's over, but no. I get charged June 24. My last payment was suppose to be on May 24. I call three different times in the morning and it goes straight to Mike Meyers (owner?) voicemail. No one answers the phone til maybe 10:30am. It's Amber, I tell her I got charged when I should not have been. She tells me she isn't in the office yet but she'll take care of it for me. I give her a week or more, waiting for my refund. I have to call again to see what the hold up is. I call and Amber tells me that it was my last payment before my membership was canceled. Good thing I had the copy of the paper work. I inform her that no your wrong I have the paper work right in front of me with her signature saying my last payment was May 24. She says she'll CC me in the email to start the refund process. Well huh, I thought you were aware and taking care of this when I called the first time!? I believe they were just try to take my money and that Amber is an awful manager. I've been a member of this gym for almost a year now and use if fairly regularly when I'm not up in Michigan. Their equipment is brand new, always clean, and they have a virtual training room that you can use anytime if you want to do anything from yoga to Pilates to kickboxing. All of which I have done at varying levels of difficulty which is great for the beginner to advanced person. The best thing about this gym though is Amber the manager and personal trainer. If you are looking for help with your program or a complete overhaul this is the lady to turn to as she is very knowledgeable in all aspects of diet and training, and just a great person overall. I bring my kids here on their own membership and they love all the tips she gives them to live a healthy lifestyle. read more

Anytime Fitness is a chain gym but under different legal entity. I became a member because of the one at Preston road, highly recommend that one. But this one, a big no. Not the facility, the management here is suck. I want to cancel my membership, they only let u cancel it in person and don't care if u relocated or not. I drove a long time to cancel it, but it's hard to catch people working here. And! After I cancel it, they still auto charge me another two months! I spent a lot of time to deal with the membership cancelling things. To calculate the total, they over charged me 10 months already after I relocated. The total is $400 almost. My home gym is Anytime Fitness Palestine TX, which is an AWESOME gym. I'm visiting Richardson for a couple days and I have to say I was willing to drive further when I read some of the reviews for this location. I was very pleasantly surprised. The equipment is clean, updated, and in great condition. Iw was spacious, and vacant at 5am. Restroom and floors were clean. I'm really not sure why it doesn't have a better rating. read more

Anytime Fitness trainer Amber is a superb motivated for her clients as well as qualified trainer that can help you achieve your goals. I have witnessed and been on the receiving end of her critical eye as a client and can say she hit it on the head when offering advise for physique improvement. I am currently studying for my NASM CPT. I would recommend her as a trainer for any perspective new comer and a coach to the experienced lifter.
