Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Persistent Harassment and Discriminatory Behavior I am sharing this to warn the community and formally urge LA Fitness management to strictly enforce its Code of Conduct. I hope that by speaking out, others who have had similar encounters feel empowered to come forward and share their experiences as well. My recent experiences at the Plano South (W Pres GWB Hwy) location have been deeply disturbing, and it has become clear that I am not the only victim of a specific individual's aggressive misconduct. The Incident on 4/1/26: Between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM, I was subjected to verbal abuse by a long-term member (a tall, thin, older white woman). While I was using the public shower, she began timing me, yelling that I was a "liar" regarding my time in the stall, and cursed me out, calling me a "nasty woman." This is the second time she has targeted me; weeks prior, she interrupted my shower to interrogate me on how much longer I planned to be there. A Notorious Pattern of Targeted Bullying: After this incident, I spoke with other women in the locker room who immediately recognized this woman. Their stories reveal a systemic pattern of bullying: * Member 1 (Asian): Reported that this woman ordered her to vacate a shower stall. When she refused, the woman kicked her gym bag and left. This member now alters her workout schedule specifically to avoid being harassed. * Member 2 (Black): While she was applying lotion in a shower stall, this woman ordered her to leave and finish in the locker room so she could take that specific stall. Like Member 1, she has also postponed her workout times to avoid encountering this individual. * Member 3 (Asian): When she asked to share a swimming lane, this woman refused--even though she was the only person in her lane--and told the member to go swim in a reserved lane where two teenagers were in the middle of training. This individual's reputation for being difficult is well-known. A long-time male member previously told me that if she refused to cooperate or share a lane, I should just wait for his lane instead, as she is known for being notoriously unreasonable. Concerns of Discrimination: Because this woman's aggression has been consistently directed at Asian and Black members, many of us are left questioning her motives. The consensus among those she has targeted is that her behavior is either mentally unstable or racially motivated. It is unacceptable for any member to feel singled out or bullied based on their background. Conclusion: Because these incidents occur in the pool and shower areas, it is impossible for victims to provide video evidence. However, the consistency of these stories--at least five individuals have been harassed or bullied by this same woman--is evidence enough for management to take action. We are all paying members who deserve a workout environment free from verbal abuse and intimidation. Several of us are now considering not renewing our memberships because we no longer feel safe or welcome. The whirlpool was cold and dirty. The gym was completely out of sanitizing wipes, and this isn't the first time, but this time, it was 2 days in a row. A childhood friend of mine died from Staph that was traced back to a dirty gym. So, not having the minimum of disease mitigation is inexcusable. Front desk personnel are very rude. We signed up for a account and paid. Went three days in a row and then a week later and they kept saying I have a balance. I paid $400 for only 3 days of working out. They wouldn't allow me in and canceled my account without my approval. I have a medical condition that requires me to work out. The ladies working in the front were so rude and when i tried to bring this matter up with the manager and he could care less. Very poorly run establishment. July 2023 about 15 chairs (required by Silver Sneakers policies) were removed by another facility. After multiple complaints, 5 old wobbly chairs were sent in October. Silver Sneaker policy states, no chair, no class participation allowed. Continued requests an complaints yield "we're looking into it" or, "ordered chairs went to Lewisville instead ". Yay for them. When we regularly have more attendees, staff pull out office chairs with arms. Those are not as safe and limit user's participation in all exercises to stay healthy and improve own experience of exercise. SO, WHEN WILL THE RICHARDSON LOCATION GET ADEQUATE CHAIRS *REPLACED*???? It's already February. Feeling like Groundhog Day. Is this ageism, or misogyny against women ages 50+ ????!!! BTW. most participants' memberships are paid by United Healthcare. Doubt denial of a benefit by LA Fitness would be appreciated by insurance companies. The Plano South LA Fitness cycle room has been without air for 3-4 years which in the Texas heat makes the room very hot - unhealthy temperatures. we have been given every excuse imaginable for when it will be fixed. Solutions suggested by management have been to cancel class or freeze membership until fixed. Both solutions are unacceptable. Management also refuses to let class be moved to a location with air. We all know that fitness clubs get a bad rap, but this place defines why. I visited the club and signed up for a 1 year membership back in November and did not receive any information regarding how to access the club etc. Then came the big COVID surge followed by a shoulder replacement so I managed to waste 1/2 of my membership. OK, that is my bad and I can understand them offering me any remediation (like extending my 1 year expiration date by a month or two). I finally went into the club on my way home from work to see if I could find out what to do get some value for my $357 purchase on 4/14 at about 8:15 AM. I was met by one of the rudest people that I have had the misfortune to meet. He did help me get set up. He gave the excuse that he was "operating on very little sleep". Coincidently I was wearing my scrubs that say Registered Nurse on them, I told him that I work the 7PM to 7AM shift and I had been at work the previous night. So I finally got in, my entire goal was to exercise my now 10 week old shoulder and swim (also good for the shoulder). I did some shoulder exercises then noticed there a was a water aerobics class in the pool. This is not my first gym membership, but it is the first one where water aerobics takes EVERY LANE in the pool leaving NO WHERE TO SWIM. You walk in and the staff is friendly - they usually greet you and say good bye to you when you leave. The locker rooms are clean and well maintained. Make sure to bring your own lock! I always find room to change and put my stuff up. I come here right after work which is peak hour! It's not too busy at all! I can always find a cardio machine. They have music playing but its not loud enough to pump me up so I bring my own ipod to get me going. They have free weights in small increments for small girls like me - 5's, 7.5's, 10's, and 12's. If not always, I normally get my own bench too! Like any other gym, you'll have your regular meatheads grunting away. They act like they own the place but they don't bother me! The machines are typical - not state of the art but they're not old and run down. They used to have a juice bar but I suppose due to slow business, it closed down. I've enjoyed their spin classes as well as their aerobic classes. I've never played basketball on the bb court but the bf loves going there. There's always a group in there in the early evenings. Gym is similar to other LA Fitesses. This location is not updated and as of Dec. 3, 2019 corporate has no plans to update this gym. The swimming pool is smaller than at other locations. The weight machines are okay but every single treadmill and elliptical has rust on it and is super old and not fit for a decent workout. I was super exited to have a gym close to where I live, but this location is not worth going to if you plan to use any cardio machines. read more

The basketball courts are always dead with no one ever playing. The lockers rooms are absolutely disgusting, the manager trey is very rude and made my wife very uncomfortable by trying to make her sign up when I'm already a member and she is my guest. I can't afford to get her membership but he always crowds her after she is done with her work out. It's very annoying. First of all, the website states this gym has "State of the Art" equipment. Attached is what every treadmill looks like. Old. Rusty. Pathetic. Unfortunately, I can NOT say this about all the LA Fitnesses but this location is top notch. I spend 4-5 days out of the week here, I would know! They are never packed and they have plenty of equipment for all your workout needs. (Although I have been requesting the Kettle bells for a while now.) Their staff is very friendly and most importantly for me, very professional. They don't flirt or try to make you feel like you HAVE to acquire their training services every time you walk in the door as I have encountered at other LA Fitness locations. It's a gym so it will have some funky smells but all and all, they maintain it pretty clean, showers especially. Their pool and sauna are frequently getting maintenance. This is a public service announcment. BEWARE OF PERSONAL TRAINING SCAM. The personal trainers cannot and will not help you reach your fitness goals. I have been going to LA Fitness for 3-4 years and I am disappointed that nothing has changed. Equipment is still old and dirty. Employee/trainer turnover is very high. Wanted to see some change in my body so I was convinced by their sales people to join personal training. I had a very bad feeling about starting personal training at LA but Leslie knickman assured me that my trainer would not quit and that they are highly trained. So I signed up for a year contract and my trainer quit after 3 days of training. Leslie never let me know and lied for months about trying to hire another trainer. My trainer texted me and notified me that he quit because LA has sleazy and unfair corporate practices. I wanted to be surprised, but I wasn't because of what I had seen over the years of attending LA fitness. If you are interested in personal training and want to see results go to Orange Theory (many locations, happy/supportive coaches, very clean facilities). Let me break it down and give you a side-by-side comparison. LA fitness will charge you $300-450 a month for 6 sessions (25 minutes each) and will charge you 1/2 the remainder of your contract if you choose to break the contract. Orange theory (if you choose unlimited sessions) is $160 a month and each session is 60 minutes (and there's no extra fee of you wish to terminate your memebership). At Orange theory, you don't have to worry about your session getting cancelled last minute because a trainer didn't show and won't need to worry about getting ripped off. You have a safe space where you can focus and achieve your health goals. Unfortunately, LA fitness is only concerned with nickle and diming their customers. If you are disciplined in your workout regime and don't mind old and dirty equipment then LA may work for you. Just be sure when you sign up that you get the initiation fee waived. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY for an initiation fee. None of my family members or friends have had to pay this fee which I sometimes hear people are paying. $20-$25/ month and just ignore the smell and the bad energy. read more

All they say is you need not worry about anything you can cancel anything at anytime but the truth is there will be lot of fee if you need to cancel ( which they don't mention at the time of sign up ) they will not even give you time to go through the contract before signing since they want to have a closure for that day, they will be all sweet and nice at the time of signing up but later when you ask anything that is against to contract they say that "are you blind" ? Don't Let The Bad Reviews Stop You From Trying This Place! Sure, not every gym is gonna be spotless and perfect, we all know that, but this location of the LA Fitness chain is a fantastic spot to work out at. There is plenty of natural light, with a generous amount of weights and machines. Some (and I emphasize SOME) of the equipment isn't the newest and in pristine condition, but anyone that isn't an entitled toddler will overlook this minor cosmetic detail and be happy with their workout experience. Locker rooms and bathrooms were tidy and clean, which matters greatly due to the amount of traffic they see in a day. In addition, Taylor, the associate that helped me sign up for my membership was very honest, friendly, and efficient. Her enthusiasm and kindness added to my experience, making me feel welcome to join the community. This location also closes earlier than a lot of other dfw locations which sucks.. UPDATE: As I reflect back on my experience, I still love this gym. The only thing I try to prepare you for are the staff that try to get you to sign up immediately. They not your friend. Their objective is to get you to sign up. They'll smile in your face and tell you whatever they think you need to hear in hopes that you sign up that same day. As soon as you sign up, they're moving on to the next person. If they make eye contact with you, they might speak, they might not.... but I guarantee they'll treat you differently once you're a member. The only people who are really friendly are the front desk people and that's because they're paid to be. My point is this.... if you're speaking with someone trying to sign you up, milk it for what you can do you get the best deal to sign up. They're being nice but it's fake. So use it to your advantage. Aside from that ^^^ this place is great. PREVIOUS POST: I love this place. Their busiest day is Monday but it's not terribly packed. The enrollment manager was very friendly when I signed up. Of course, it's all "game" sit get can get you to sign up. The very next day he either forgot who I was or he's near sighted. When our eyes locked, he didn't budge. Oh well, I got my membership and he got his number for the month. It's a win-win for everyone and it's $10 cheaper than 24-hour Fitness! The facility is great, the facility is clean. I wish there was a way that the sauna wasn't next door to the locker room and on the way to the restrooms. It just smells like hot chlorine and feet that have been in someone's ass all the time. I'm happy to report that this is the first locker room I've gone to and not smelled Right Guard deodorant! Who still wears that stuff anyway? The place has a pool, a sauna, showers, bikes, machines, free weights, racket ball and HEAVY BAGS! Definitely a thumbs up. You should join. NOTE - This review is of the Personal Training services offered by the LA Fitness gym on George Bush Hwy in Plano, Texas.. After working out at this location for several months I decided to look into utilizing the personal training services offered by LA Fitness. I spoke at length with a salesperson and after repeating a dozen times that no, I wasn't going to be signing any contracts that night agreed to meet with a personal trainer for a free session later in the week. (the gym membershiop I have allows for one free session with a personal trainer to try out the service) I spoke with a personal trainer manager, who said he would work with me Friday evening and we set the appointment. The next day I received an email verification of our scheduled appointment. As the week went on I found myself growing excited about meeting with the personal trainer. The day of the appointment arrived and I went in to meet with the personal trainer. Unfortunately he wasn't there. After 15 minutes or so of the front desk staff making calls, speaking to other personnel and a manager I was told that the trainer had an errand to run and wouldn't be back and asked that I reschedule to appointment. Forget it. If the trainer can't make the initial 'sales' session then how the heck do they treat the actual clients after getting them to sign up for the recurring monthly charges? I love this gym! Been a member for almost a year now and actually using my membership at least twice a week!! (a personal record!) And I hate working out... Whenever I come, it's never too crowded, great variety of machines, people are very friendly Restrooms are always sparkling clean (didn't try showers and pool). You have to try their classes!! I came in my second time using the guest pass without knowing about the 6 month policy and instead of informing me about it, this nasty ass desk lady named AMY decided to be an asshole and presumed that I "kept" coming in to abuse the guest passes. As i sit here drinking tea about to head out to this L.A. Fitness, I decided to take a few minutes to review it. It's located in a shopping plaza and is behind cafe brazil/Geisha. The inside is pretty clean and this one differs from others I've been to where the swimming pool is in the front right when you walk in, don't know if I'll ever swim. Other than that the layout is about the same with the cardio machines on the second floor and the weight machine and free weights are downstairs. This La fitness is a chill place to workout at and they attendants are really nice. They also offer a little kid area for mothers who want to get their sweat on! read more

Came to this one because the LA Fitness off K ave was crappy. Sorry to say this one sucks just as much. It's almost an identical twin to the LA Fitness of K avenue near 75. Check out my review by the way. The equipment here has been updated so this one is a little bit better than the K Avenue LA Fitness. The leg machines look like they're shiny and new. It's also got a locking mechanism that i've never seen before. This one also seems a little cleaner but the difference isn't huge. Overall 2.5 stars. read more
