Recently moved to the area wanted a conveniently close gym. Their marketing material is extremely deceiving $29 BIWEEKLY just say you're $60 a month 3x the price of most other gyms. Very limited equipment in comparison to other gyms. No locker rooms, no sauna, just private bathrooms. In the middle of the gym there's 5 buckets collecting dripping water from an AC unit. Not to mention they want to lock you in a contract for either 1 or 2 years. The benefits they promote are 24 hr access and "trainers" who measure bmi and for accountability after 45 days etc. Again very deceiving they don't train you at all just measure which a $20 scale and app can do. Because of proximity this location would have been ideal but I'd rather drive 10 mins more for a better at a third of the price I could even add a trainer for $60. read more

Started being a loyal customer of almost 7 years from Winter Haven. At all other Anytime fitness, never had a situation. Was always greeted, always ask if I needed help, always ask if I need to guidance and any questions. At other locations. That was before I came to the Temple Terrace one. If You are not a part of their internal group, white or Hispanic, you are on your own and have to beg them to assist you. I have frequencing this location for over a year. Not once, ever, had they asked me if I needed assistance of any sort. Of the people that might need help, I am on dialysis, diabetic, and had a recent stroke, but they look at me in disgust, which also makes me wonder if it's because I am a person of color. (And to Anytime Fitness employees, if you read this please correct me if I am wrong). Then to only have my account deactivated because I came in one day, stayed too long without utilizing the equipment and not asking why is diabolical. No where in an agreement does it state a time limit you are allowed to be there. I had always adhered to the rules by not letting anybody in without a fob and being respectable with everybody else. While I'm sure that it's great during the day, I have to use the gym at night. For the past two nights starting around 10pm-3am, this becomes a hotel, charging station, and restroom for folks that I believe are living in their cars. Based off that they don't use any of the equipment they sleep on nor wipe it down when they go to a different part of the Gym or sleep in the bathrooms. I love it here! Over yes now, and I am stuck. It's not too big like some others and I love having the fitness classes and MyZone to help with my focus. I'm the beginning the small group sessions helped a lot with getting my form correct and learning what I can do to tone my real problem areas. The coaches are all fantastic. read more

I travel quite a bit and use anytime fitness gyms across the country. I search as I did this morning and read reviews then visit the gyms. I am in this gym right now and it has the newest highest quality equipment and the guy in the picture is cleaning during my workout. The new runner curling bars are as good as I have seen. I can't speak for regulars at this gym but I can 100 percent to the quality of the gym. It's as good of an anytime as I have visited in over a decade and I live in Baltimore so no vested interest in this Tampa location except I appreciate small business owners and want them to win. I really do love this gym and the staff is pretty chill... but the mirrors are ALWAYS dirty and smudg.

Entitled Members: I recently joined this gym and quickly notice members will "claim" 2-3 pieces of equipment at once by leaving their stuff (bags, clothes, water etc.) on it for the extent of their entire workout. This is a shared space, if you're not actively using it you should clean it and make it available to others. I don't know if or how management can promote better etiquette but this behavior definitely detracts from the quality and experience. Equipment: Average selection big box gym. I do notice it's missing things like the adduction/abduction machine, upright bikes and there are only 2 spinner bikes- which again have people's stuff on it for hours when they are not actually using it. No secured lockers and bathrooms/showers are unisex. Cleanliness: I've not seen a cleaning crew on the premisses but have only been a handful of times. I've seen members wipe down equipment which I guess counts for something. Overall it's an OK selection. If you have a structured workout I would not recommend since, as I first mentioned, people will occupy multiple pieces of equipment for 1-2 hours at a time. If you're ok with moving a stranger's belongings, cleaning their sweat off equipment, or approaching them to free up stuff they are not using you might be fine. read more

The worst Anytime Fitness I've ever been to. I mean totally the worst. I can honestly say I felt like I walked into L.A. Fitness. The facility has old equipment. As soon as you walk in you smell the mold. It's in the ghetto which explains the cleanliness. Not updated at all and I was scared to park in the parking lot. Plus there was so many people. The bathrooms smelled like urine. Again the worst and I would never recommend to anyone. I went to the AnyTime Fitness in Wesley Chapel the next day and WOW!!! Night and day. Take the extra drive to the Wesley Chapel location, it's worth it. read more

I have been going to this particular AF for about a week , I really like it . The equipment is very good and the separate room they had for squats and chin up's/ T- bar rows and the like was a pleasant surprise. Was not crowded at the time I went, and plenty of equipment for all . Would like to also point out , maybe some messed up the assisted chin up/ pull up machine and it had a sign to not use it . I chose this gym because it's short distance from my home and it was also extremely convenient when I was working nights as a nurse. My schedule was so crazy no gym could accommodate EXCEPT "Anytime" Fitness". All of your weight training needs can be met here with a couple caveats. There is one of every weight training machine. The only extras of machines are, of course, treadmills and ellipticals. One stair master. Other caveat is due to its smaller size the time of day you attend may matter. Right after work between five and seven o'clock may be a small issue finding machines and may put a damper on your planned workout routine for that day. I come in the early to late morning. I've never had a problem. The gym is kept very clean. The equipment is great. Doesn't look old or outdated. In addition to the main gym and the side wood linoleum area for jump rope, foam rolling, an workout, etc. they have a small to medium sized group fitness room. I've used this room for HIIT workouts or yoga. It has a really cool feature with a drop down projector that you can select a guided video workout to follow. My favorite is to bring a stationary bicycle and use he projector for my own personal cycling session. For Crossfit or heavy lifting lovers they have a "garage" type room that has ropes, punching bag, tires etc. all kept in here on a gravel type floor. Staff is personable and helpful. I'm new to weight training and I feel comfortable approaching them with questions on machines and technique. When I first joined two to three years ago I dd personal training with J'marie. She's the best. Love her. Really helped me with physical and personal goals! Felt great! I used to come and do the group fitness classes that she held like cardio kick and punch boxing. They've made some changes and they don't offer as many as I'd like (time and fitness goals wise). More Zumba and things of that nature. All of this for roughly $40 a month is not that bad! Especially if you live nearby and your schedule is that barrier you can't get past that stops you from making it to the gym. read more

Really laid back gym atmosphere, reasonable membership fee, and 24 hr access all across the country. I highly recommend Anytime Fitness.

This Anytime Fitness moved about a mile and a half down the road (to 9225 North 56th Street) and gained a lot of space by doing so. Because of the new space they have they are now able to do things they couldn't in their former location. They now have a good sized room they can use for classes. There's another area that can be used for stretching/yoga. Either of these places would be a great place to do lunges, which is great. There was no room to do that in the old location. They also installed a TRX system on a wall if you've been wanting to try that. The new space also means that the restroom situation that was so annoying at the old location has been obliterated. At the old location if some guy decided that he was going to take a twenty minute shower that meant that every other guy in the gym was prevented from using the only men's restroom until shower boy was done. That won't happen anymore here. With all of the new space I was really hoping that they would be getting a seated plate-loaded wide grip chest press machine, but that didn't happen. As far as weight training goes I didn't really notice anything added to the equipment they already had. Don't get me wrong, they already had a pretty good selection. I was just hoping to walk into the new location and say, "Wow, I'm so glad they added THIS equipment." and I didn't get that. As I've said in my previous review this location is really good about adding new equipment so we'll see what they do with this additional space as time goes on. I hate their system for how you wipe down the equipment. I've probably been to over twenty Anytime Fitness locations and there's always one of two systems. Either there's paper towels with spray bottles or a dispenser of disposable moist towelettes. Here you get spray bottles and an accompanying rag that has been there for who knows how long. I shudder to think how much funk those rags have already soaked up before I use them. I really wish they would change this. edit December 2014: I have to bump my review up to 5 stars. I was nervous when I saw that Anytime Fitness sign on the front of the building had been removed. This location has been here less than a year so I was worried that they had shut down. The opposite was actually true. They're expanding! They opened a large room named "the dungeon" at the back of the gym. In addition to the equipment that was already at the gym the dungeon has 5 more treadmills, several ellipticals, a squat rack, a TRX system, a punching bag, and another rack of dumbbells that go up to 50 pounds. Super cool looking gym. New shiny grey Matrix machines and equipment set the mood here. A lot of room dedicated to free weights and nautilus. Good selection of curl bars, dumbbells, and kettleballs. All equipment new and in great shape. Cardio is limited to about a dozen basic machines, but never saw a wait for any either. The single bench however was another story as it was in constant use and also served as squat rack as well, making a serious workout almost impossible. More benches would equal more stars. read more

Nice clean gym with new equipment and open 24/7. The staff is friendly and willing to help if you have questions. The trainers will work you hard but since that is what you pay them for it works. They have 5 treadmills so there is usually one always open. read more

Awesome yoga program!

After being a loyal customer for more than 2 years, I had problems with management allowing me to cancel. I notified them multiple times after I had moved that I wished to cancel my membership and after 3 more months I finally received a member cancellation form. At this point they said I had to PAY for another month and guess what I see on my bank statement? A double charge. No thanks. Will never go back or recommend this gym to anyone, ever! read more

I have been a member of Anytime Fitness/Temple Terrace for the last 17 months. I elected to have a personal trainer since I joined and have not regretted that decision at all. Even though they have plenty of equipment to use and are willing to assist you on the proper ways to use such, I need that extra personal push by a one on one . Since July, Joshua Hallman has been my trainer and he is excellent, not only as my instructor but a knowledgeable fitness expert. Some days I have to remind him he could be my grandson, if thats any indication of my age. I feel so much better using this facility and do so at least 3 to 4 times a week. J-Marie is also a leader with her fitness classes three times week. This is money well spent for my health & well-being. read more

Absolutely horrible for the money you pay. This location actually is bigger than most, but still 35 monthly is insane. this gym was good for me as a beginner but now that I'm a more serious lifter it's obsolete. They don't have plates that you can put on a barbell besides bumper plates, so I literally can't even progress while deadlifting there. The atmosphere is just not there unless you're not a serious lifter. I decided to switch gyms to Power House which is immensely bigger, has free classes all week with actual trainers who know what they're doing, has an amazing restaurant in the gym, has free day care, saunas and a chiropractor. The atmosphere at power house is amazing! The employees never bother you, you always feel the need to push yourself because everyone else is and there's always open equipment. That's another issue I have, anytime doesn't even have an actual bench press... they have make shift ones in squat rack, but this is basic stuff. I transferred over to power lifting so anytime is just obsolete, they really need to step their game up for what they charge. I pay LESS at power house which is a 50,000 square foot gym and has literally every piece of equipment under the sun. Not to mention, youfit is 10 dollars a month and is 24 hours and crunch is 10 as well! Step your game up! read more
