This is a pretty last hardware store for a small area. You can't get everything but you can get most of what you need. They have paint center. They have pet section and they have a lot of plumbing stuff. They also have hay, straw, heavy various items in the back that you drive around to pick up. Visit the variety store next door for things like fans, heaters, household goods, cards, and odd items. People are helpful and friendly. Every time I go in there, there is some customer who's done your project before willing to talk to you about it too. read more

They are pretty over price compared to Home Depot, the women that work out front can be pretty rude. I don't get there 20 minutes before they close because there will be a man standing at the gate waiting to kick you in the butt as you leave, they look upset that you get there at the last minute, depending on what time you get there they won't even let you in even though they are technically not closeed. Their return back policy is very Kmart. Even though the bags and parts obviously only come from them and are sold by them they won't take them back without a receipt, even if you bought them yesterday meanwhile the rest of the known world takes everything back with or without a receipt even if the box has been opened and damaged. Not these guys, they will nickel and dime you so forget about that nice country hometown feeling you get with a small town business, you won't get it at true value Anza Truly, there is not much value there read more

Un professional and rude. Some employees are a bit overzealous to take their anger out on you. Not everyone is mean but just not worth going to this in particular feed store. (Prices are 38% higher then CA average) Unfortunately the True Value Feed store in Anza is one of few here. Which most likely explains why they think they can treat customers how they wish. The ladies at the register are sweet tho. Consider the fact that most reviews are from people who don't actually live here. I go on a daily basis (use to, not anymore) . A few feet down the road is another feed store which carries organic options as well. I would recommend re staffing with a new operations manual because it is evident that the current operation manual is non existent. As well as many county/ fire code violations. read more

After posting this, I see that Yelp has my location as San Francisco, I live in Anza, CA. I came across a negative review posted on 5/2/2017, here on Yelp for this store, when looking to see if they opened at 7am or 8am. Part of the review states that most of the reviews come from people who do not live in Anza (which is odd as the reviewer himself shows he lives down the hill in Temecula, about 35 miles away). So, on with my own review. I DO live in Anza. This is the only hardware store in our little town and yes, they are also a feed/hay supplier. Being in a remote area, at least 35 miles away from any other town that has multiple hardware and feed stores, and considering everything we get on the hill has to be hauled in, yes, the prices on some items are higher (while I have found other items to be equal or actually lower), which is expected by anyone who lives in similar areas. I will qualify this by saying ALL of the businesses here charge more, but it is due to the area we live in, not due to price gouging. I do not see where this person came up with 38% higher than CA average though. If you want to see high, try living in a mountain community, which is more cut-off than Anza. I shop, on average, at Anza Valley True Value several times a month. There is another feed store down the road where I also purchase hay and bagged feed. They each stock different bagged feeds and their prices on hay are always within 50 cents or less of each other, in my experience. Yes, a new store opened not far across the road from Anza Valley True Value and they have quality organic feeds, but the prices for buying organic is quite high. I have never found anyone who works at the store to be rude. You are always greeted, whether you are in the front of the store or in the back. The gentlemen in the back always ask if you need help and take plenty of time to assist or answer questions. As for county or fire code violations, I find this hard to believe as Cal Fire is not far down the street and shop there and the county is up here all the time going through the few businesses we have, making sure they are in compliance. No, I do not work at this establishment. I frequent it because they generally have what I am looking for. The other reviewer might find Big Horse or Dan's Feed to be more to his liking as they are much larger stores and are located in Temecula, although I do not find their bagged feed or hay to be less. And then there is WalMart and Home Depot, etc, also in Temecula. He could save himself the gas money by not driving up the hill to come into a store he is not happy with. Perhaps he was just having a bad day. I will continue to shop at Anza Valley True Value. read more

Great small town store, everything from frying pans to fix-a-flat. Big selection of livestock and pet food. If you have doubts about DIY, they'll help you figure it out or give you the name of someone to do it for you. If you can't find what you need, try the variety store next door, great sewing section there! Friendly people always ready with a smile. I can shop "down the hill" but i often opt for the local hardware because its nice to deal with nice folks. read more
